2nd time here. Came especially for the King Crab Legs.
Eat here all the time service and food is amazing
Our waiter Tony was attentive and great! I was hoping the corkage fee would be waived bring it was our 31st Anniversary. Food was delicious.
A hidden gem in Fremont Casino! Everything was excellent! Can’t wait to come back and get dessert!
Absolutely our favourite restaurant - every time we go to Vegas we have to go for dinner here. Best food, best service, hands down. Tony is amazing! We’re so excited when we go and see that he’s there. We only get to Vegas once or twice a year, and there’s only been one time when he wasn’t the person serving our table - we love the steak and lobster but he truly makes it an unforgettable experience and keeps us coming back (and bringing all of our friends!)
This was our first visit to Second Street Grill and we loved everything about it. Tony was our waiter; such a gem indeed: professional, warm, friendly, knowledgeable...he definitely made our dining experience a delight! The Mongolian Lamb Chops were outstanding! We will be back in June...because this place has become our favorite! Much aloha to Tony and the staff!
One of our DINING FAVORITES that NEVER DISAPPOINTS! If you are looking an exceptional meal and memorable dining experience, then the Second Street Grill is the choice to make.
The food choices are amazing and the service is outstanding. Tony made my Birthday evening so perfect all the way down to the signature NAPOLEON dessert that was second to none! Wow! To die for - is all I can say. We invited friends that did not know this place and they were completely blown away.
We will all be back again and again and bringing more friends to enjoy the Second Street Grill!
Warm welcome and great food. The crab legs are a very generous portion and good value.
Awesome as usual! The best meal Downtown.
We found the atmosphere to be warm and inviting. Our party consisted of 7 people, but the wait staff was quite attentive and friendly! We found the food to be overall very good, but I think the highlights of our meals were the Alaskan King Crab Legs and the Prime Rib!! You just can’t go wrong choosing to dine at Second Street Grill!
Service was very good, attentive but not overbearing. The food was a homerun. Prices are comparable and some of the dishes are not found in Downtown Vegas. Overall a great experience.
I have eaten at this establishment many times over the many years that I have been coming to Vegas, but I had not been there in about a year. So we went this past Saturday night and enjoyed a nice meal. The food was good and our service from Jesus our waiter was superb. Not only was the food tasty and well prepared, but this pricing is good since entrees include the starch and a house salad---some entrees even include a cooked vegetable (I had lamb chops and I got the starch and green beans too!) But one thing I think is severely overpriced and that is their cocktails/liquor!!! My wife ordered a Kahlua and milk cocktail and the cost was $16!! That works out to a mark up of about 21.3 times, which is outrageous! My scotch, which is the 18 year old Maccallan, was priced at $35 per drink which equates to a markup of 3.1X, which is not outrageously high, but I would think that a markup of 2.5X is more appropriate for a gambling establishments restaurant. Believe me when I tell you that my calculations of markup vs cost for these drinks are very accurate, and I am using "long pours" as my standard (which is 1.5 oz. per drink poured). And what is even worse is that their sister downtown property charged us $5 for the Kahlua drink, and $20 for the Maccallan drink -- this is a fact since I just ate there last night!!
Overall it was a good experience. The quality of the food was good and it was very affordable.
Very nice atmosphere, great service, exceptional food, good place for a special date.
A little wait but for our table, but truly worth it! The food was amazing and my prime rib was perfect! What a nice little secret.
If you've never been downtown in Vegas you are missing the best people watching in the world and the best deal ever for a great high end meal. When you're tired of getting charged $25 for a hamburger on the strip, you can feast on some of the best rack of lamb you ever had for $35 here. Share an appetizer of killer lettuce wraps with four people and there will still be left overs. Portions are huge, food is top quality, ambience is old vegas baby - you half expect Dino and Sammy to be sitting at the next table. Every trip to Vegas includes a stop here. You won't be disappointed!!!!
Food was good the service not so much. It took over 3 hours from start to finish. Way too long
Enjoyed our Christmas dinner. As always before, it was wonderful.
Our experience at Second Street Grill was very strange/disappointing. First, we walked in to hear a woman yelling and cursing at the hostess and bartender, only to later realize that she worked there and appeared to possibly be the manager. Then, we were seated in the very back of the restaurant near the swinging door entrance to the kitchen, even though we had a reservation and maybe 3 other tables in the whole place were occupied. The table we were sat next to was one of them, a group of 4 men who were super loud and vulgar the entire time. When we were approached by our server, the first thing she said to us was "are you ready to order"? Ummm, no, we sat down like 3 minutes ago. We ordered appetizers and wine, and when the server came with the bottle, she asked if we wanted her to pour it. Uhhhh yeah, that would probably be the best thing to do. The seafood dim sum and mozzarella and tomato appetizers were very good, as was the steak entree. My Thai cioppino, however, was fifty fifty. The broth was delicious, however the shrimp and scallops were cooked to the consistency of rubber, and some of the mussels were not properly cleaned, so I got a couple mouthfuls of sand/grit. The busser was perhaps the highlight of the experience as he was very attentive- our glasses were constantly full and he removed finished plates very quickly. For what we got as far as food and experience, there was some sticker shock when it came to the bill. All in all, we can say we tried it, but we can also say we won't be coming back or recommending the restaurant to others.
Food choices cover everyone’s palette. Presentation, quantity, and quality is outstanding. Service is excellent. We always enjoy the food there
We eat here every time we come to Vegas. They have the BEST crab cakes of anywhere I've been!!!
This is my second visit to the restaurant - my first was in April 2001 (I'm in the UK, I don't get to Vegas too often). I had a T-steak then, and repeated the order this time, and pleased to say that the best 2 steaks I've had have been in this restaurant - 16.5 years apart!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with friends. Absolutely recommend the king crab legs. Our party also had the lamb and steak. Our meal went well with our mixed drink and beer choices. Great service too! Always request Tony as our waiter.
Didn’t expect service to be so slow. Waited over half hour for entree to arrive, water glasses were not filled when empty, reminded waiter about bread several times, wine delivered after 15 minutes of order. Commented to hostess about the lengthy time of service.. service improved only after complaining.. other than that, food was tasty
This restaurant has a quiet, softly lite, dark wood décor. All the staff was very efficient and personable. Makes for a great atmosphere for a nice dinner. Most of all, the food was wonderful! Our steaks were cooked perfectly to order and my lobster tail was also cooked perfectly. Not overcooked, as I have had often in the past, to the point of a rubber-like texture. The cocktails were perfect and the house Cab was delicious. We are very happy to have found a great restaurant of this caliber for what we feel to be reasonable prices. Definitely recommend!
Like the service
Went there for wife's birthday at the recommendation of friends. She had the stuffed prawns and never seen any shrimp that big. I had the ribeye. Was not as tender as I had hoped and a little more fatty than usual. Decent wine list. Service was top notch. Ambience very nice. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation even with full tables around. Great cheesecake for dessert.
Would recommend definitely.
Waiter was somewhat inattentive. My wife asked if the "red snapper" was tai and was told no, so she ordered the butterfish. Somehow they brought her a three pound deep fried red fish. Much too much for a lady. As a diabetic she does not eat fried food either. The waiter later apologized saying he did not realize she wanted the fish steamed. She accepted the fried dish anyway reasoning they would not be able to serve it once it cooled down and did not want to let such a magnificent creature go to waste. Food was tasty otherwise. We had planned for months to go to this restaurant and were disappointed with the lack of communication.
Food was great. Service was excellent even though the place was busy.
Casual elegant dining. We were a group of 6 looking for a good steak, we found it. Excellent service, attentive waiter, one in group had shrimp and scallops with cream sauce over linguine, large portion, everybody ate some. We will be back.
Second Street is consistently excellent in cuisine and atmosphere. Each meal is a creative combination of the highest quality ingredients - and everything is included in the entrée price - salad, protein, starch and vegetables.
I have never had a bad meal here. The decaf espresso is the best I have had.
The service is impeccable. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and quiet.
I can think of absolutely nothing negative to say about this place.
We love going to Second Street Grill. This has been our 2nd visit. Both times we had Tony as a waiter. He is fantastic! Tony has been there 17 years and he makes great recommendations. This time, the wait staff catered to my disabled mom, assisting her with her electric chair and at the table. Wonderful food, excellent drinks and well priced. We will be back very soon.
The highlight for our party of five was that there was a nice variety of dishes to chose from and the taste and preparation was very good. The only problem we had was that the service was slow and we believe it was due to a lack of adequate staff for the dining room.
Started with appetizers (escargot/scallops & tiger prawns) which were terrible! The garlic was raw in the butter sauce and tiger prawns tasted chalky (over cooked). Greygoose martinis were too sweet. Left without ordering entrees.
We discovered this hidden-away steak house two years ago. It was a delicious dinner, and we had an attentive server who had been with the restaurant for over 20 years. When we returned to Vegas this year, we made sure to come back!
Second time going, and the food was remarkable again! Thank you Fremont and 2nd street grille for another amazing experience!
The service was great. A nice sit down dinner with a group of us Everyone enjoyed our dinner.
Good food and excellent service
Service and food was perfect
I was surprised by the quality and quantity of the dishes we tried: two appetizers and a shared entree (lamp chops of 4 chops!). Unfortunately, the food coupon we received from our VacHi package gave us only $3 off the total bill, but it was still worth the dining experience. Did not care too much for the Pinot Gregio and the server poured the full glass instead of the customary small pour for the taste. Next time we'll order just a glass instead of the full bottle.
