We have live music on our front patio every Friday. Please call for more information. Be sure to make a reservation if you want a table on the front patio as the space fills quickly. The music is also accessible in the bar. Seating at the bar is first come, first served.

There is usually ample street parking. There is also a free parking lot at the corner of Richmond and Franklin, which is just steps from the Bistro. There is also a free parking structure on the northeast corner of Grand and Richmond. This structure can be accessed by going west on Grand towards Richmond Street and taking a right into the structure.

Second City Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We chose Second City Bistro to meet out-of-town visitors for an early dinner AND watch the beginning of the 2nd game of the World Series. We sat outside on the patio, where it was cool, quiet (for conversation) and where we had the benefit of two large flat screen TVs on which to keep track of the game. Happy hour was welcome (though not extensive), the food was excellent, and the service was awesome. In short, the Bistro was a home run. It was the perfect place to meet -- near LAX for our traveling friends, conducive to conversation, with great ambiance, service, food, TVs for keeping track of the Game 2.
I have been at this restaurant many times, this was a very off night. We had to send 2 dishes back for undercooked polenta with a rather awful chili powder taste. The kitchen responded very slowly when we just asked to substitute risotto,an option offered by the waitress. We had a wonderful waitress. The rest of the food was very good.

We have enjoyed eating at Second City Bistro in El Segundo in the past and have always enjoyed it. We went for the recent Dine LA this time and found the food selections ample and delicious. We were especially happy to have choices of both salad and appetizer along with main course in lieu of dessert!
This place was SUCH A FIND! I found it via the Dine LA website and had always heard good things, so I used Dine LA as an excuse to finally try it. Their menu seems great, but even the Dine LA menu had many options I was excited to try....lobster bisque, crab cakes, spinach salad, halibut, ribeye, short ribs. The food was excellent. The service was even better. The owner even stopped by to check on us a couple times. We are excited to go back and try other things! Parking was easy too, which is hard to find in LA.
I went here today for DineLA. Everything was just ok. :( Service ..just ok, Food- Just ok.
From the DineLA menu I ordered the caesar salad, linguini with shrimp and had the cheesecake. The caesar salad was a very finely chopped caesar, I have actually never seen a caesar chopped like a chopped salad, actually even worse. I say worse because the pieces were so tiny and it was on a small plate not a bowl, it made it very hard to eat. I kept trying to stab pieces with the fork but the dressing had made the lettuce limp and the only pieces i could pick up were the end parts of the romaine that still had the whites attached. I literally ended up having to eat the salad by sliding my fork sideways to scoop lettuce on to it. It wasnt an enjoyable experience. Also small detail no fresh pepper for the caesar. I didnt even have anything on my table and swiped the salt and petter shaker from the next table.
The linguini was just ok. My shrimp were undercooked. Pink on outside but down the middle clear. I cant place my finger on what exactly I didnt like. I will say salt and pepper made it taste way better. And the only thing that made the linguini actually taste like "oh this is good pasta" was when I got feta cheese on the fork with everything else. I ended up making sure to get a piece in every bite. It was a large portion so thats a plus.
The cheesecake has to be frozen and I wonder be convinced other wise. My piece of cheesecake was not creamy but hard and very very cold in the middle. I know this is from the freezer bc Ive frozen cheesecake before. It was almost like eating very hard ice cream thats been frozen for a while and hasnt melted to room temperature.
Service as I said was just ok, the hostess was very nice. My server only checked on me on once while i was eating the linguini and I had to ask for a water refill.
We were a party of 17, celebrating a birthday. The food was outstanding, but clearly they were understaffed. Our food arrived two hours after we ordered. The service was fine considering the circumstance. At one point during the night, the waitress dropped a plate and spilled ketchup all over my friend's jacket. She was very apologetic and it was an accident. After realizing the jacket was ruined we asked to speak with a manager. We were told there wasn't one. We asked for the owner and the waitress gladly called him. The owner walked in and never introduced himself, just stood there waiting for us to approach him. My friend went over and introduced himself and explained what happened. The owner was extremely rude and asked what he was supposed to do about it. He actually told us if we didn't like his restaurant then we shouldn't come back. Not once did he try to make it right. I have never experienced such horrible customer service, especially from an owner. I will never return.
We had the fish & chips, filet and a Caesar salad to start.
The Caesar was okay, but old lettuce. My fish was straight from the freezer or had been sitting out. No flake to it at all. My wife had the filet and it was tough and over cooked even though she asked for medium. I expect a lot more for $40 a person. I won't go back (this was my second visit and wanted to give it another chance).
I get that's it's cool for locals, immediately local, or if you're killing time cause the person you're picking up's flight was super delayed

We ate here on a Monday night prior to picking friends up from LAX. The place was very empty. Food was just ok at best. However, since the place was pretty empty we had good service, lol.
We had the short rib dish, the meat was hot but the mashed potatoes and asparagus served with it were cold.
We also had the grilled ribeye. Nothing special here either. The steak could have used some seasoning on it before it was prepared or it should have been served with a sauce or even a bottle of steak sauce.
After dining here and reading other reviews, our experience seems par for the course.
My wife and I have been coming to 2nd City since it opened its doors. It has many great amenities but what makes it our first thought when thinking of dining is it's location. We walk the block and a half and enjoy a great meal in a very pleasant environment.
The servers are always first class and Scott, the owner always stops by to say hello.
We chose Second City Bistro for our New Years eve dinner. We had 6:30 pm reservations and were finished, paid, and out the door by 7:30 pm. Total tab was $240 plus tip. The food was good (great) but it was very rushed. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and the appetizers were barely on the table when the soup arrived. Two spoonfulls of soup and the main course arrived. We hadn't even taken a bite of the main course when the desert showed up. No kidding! We typically choose Deluca and wish we had chosen them. The staff was nice, but it seemed they wanted us out for the next sitting. Considering the occassion and price, we were pretty disappointed with the evening overall. Well... mixed feelings at least because all the food was excellent, but it was all rushed.
Booked for New Year's Eve and no mention of prix fix anywhere. When arrived, party of 7, seated in rear patio with no heat, make shift seating and sub standard wait staff. When asked for wine menu, we were then asked do we want to see bottle or by glass. We replied both please. First course took 1 hour to arrive, second 25 minutes l8r and main course before we finished second course. Dessert was another hour and we gave up on check and went inside to request again only to see our waitress behind the bar as bartender.
I have been here prior on business lunch and dinners and always enjoyed. I will never again be a patron.
Our server was delightful, but she was the only waitress covering the entire restaurant at lunch. She was as attentive as possible, but we waited a long time for drink refills and for our food. This is the second time I've been there, and service was slow both times. Food is quite good and the décor is charming, but staffing seems to be a problem.
It was a slow night for a Saturday at 7:00, which was fine with us. The noise level was at a minimum and we had a comfortable table for four. Our server was very friendly and the food was really good. The portions are quite large so be prepared to take some home. Lunch is also very good with both menus providing a range of selections.
