Cold uninviting no art work to check out. Where was the greenery no flowers on the tables. We arrived on time and asked for prime rib they said we ordered the last two pieces. The next table arrive two minutes after us and we’re told that we got the last prime rib. Boy did we get stared out all night. Needless to say we never going back.
I expected more ambience in the dining room. The lounge area felt nicer. It was a cold impersonal feel to the dining room. We are local people, saw the special of. Prime rib and thought it was an opportunity to try the restaurant No more rare pieces of roast beef so I made another selection, the .chef recommended another beef dinner. It was double the price and I unfortunately I did not ask before agreeing to it. Although it tasted good it was not a $45.00 value. We will not be back for quite a while, if at all.
Dinners were not what is expected of this type of venue.
Salmon as horrible, shrimp mac and cheese peculiar taste
Very disappointed in the whole experience
Went for prime rib special and they were already sold out at 7 pm
Dining room was sparse and poorly arranged
Dessert was best part of meal
There was a wedding that night so maybe that was the problem. The dining room while beautiful was not really set up well-it looked empty. we had a table of 7 and were seated at a table for about 12 -so it was not comfortable seating. The restaurant was excessively under staffed. It took forever to be waiting on and had slow service all night. We came because of the prime rib special but at 7 pm (which is not really late)- all they had left was end cuts or really well done pieces. That was a huge disappointment. The potatoes that came with the prime rib were cold and tasted like they came from a box. All is all it was a really disappointing experience which makes me sad because we were dining there for a special occasion.
The creme brulee dessert was the best part of the meal
Seaview used to be outstanding. This was rather ordinary. Waiter forgot to bring bread to the table until asked near the end of the meal. Menu was a cross between fine dining and lunch.
I have been going to Seaview for years and have usually eaten in the pub but that is no longer open for dinners. We ate in the main dining room which is nice however we were incredibly disappointed with the food. We both ordered the scallops and quinoa entre which had absolutely no flavor at all. The hotel and restaurant seems to have gone downhill over the years and we will strongly consider eating elsewhere next time we visit.
It’s was kinda boating
Compared to our previous experiences at the Seaview Restaurant, this visit was just sad. The beautiful dining room is now nothing more than an expensive diner. There was no ambiance to identify and the menu was incorrect in comparison to what you were actually served. We felt badly for the two staff members that were trying to their best since they were the only wait staff but it was obvious that the restaurant was way understaffed. We ate there both nights and the food was fine, but the breakfast was terrible. We tried the buffet but it was not refilled and was pretty scare in offerings for the $19.95 cost.
Food and service were the worst. Terrible menu ambience was nonexistent.
What happened to Seaview? Waitress had no idea of the menu, which have nothing interesting. Gave check before asking about dessert but then really didn’t know what they had. Food was not good, dry ribs and frozen burger. What happened. No wonder it was empty.
Absolutely horrible experience at Seaview. First we were attacked by swarms of flies they kept landing on our table while we were trying to dine. It was so bad that we had to change tables which did not help. My husband ordered a scotch and ginger ale which he sent back because he thought he was served a scotch and seltzer by mistake. When they returned with what we thought was a corrected order it tasted exactly the same. The ginger ale did not have syrup and did not taste like ginger ale. This was the least of the problems with this place. We asked for a seafood salad split into two plates and chopped for our appetizer. When they put the salad down the waitress said that the chef refused to split it and he didn’t know what it meant to chop a salad. For a fine dining restaurant and I use that term loosely how can the chef not know how to chop a salad? Even worse the salad was $24 and the shrimp and scallops in the salad smelled bad. Next the entrées, I ordered Chilean Seabass. Obviously was previously frozen because you could ring it out like a sponge and it tasted like absolutely nothing. So bland and gross I couldn’t even eat it I sent it back. My husband‘s meal was equally bad. He had the salmon and again tasteless and overpriced. The service was good but my husband and I will never dine there again. What a shame because it’s such a beautiful venue but I can understand why they are failing. Total disappointment. Don’t waste your money. Over priced an awful!
The room is beautiful, food was good but, the service was slow. There was not enough help in the dining
room or bar.
Dining Room temperature was extremely cold.
Asked for french fries to be made well done/crispy….
French fries were barely cooked.
Ribs were not fresh/fall off the bone. Sent them back.
Menu said sautéed onion…got raw onions.
Felt bad for waitress…short staffed.
11 years ago we celebrated our wedding at Seaview and being back was wonderful! Our server was kind and upbeat, our meals were delicious, and the atmosphere was laid back but sophisticated. Perfect night out!
Food was good, service was excellent.
Seaview always does a great job. Fathers Day Brunch was scaled back this year & not very busy but the food & staff were great as always.
The buffet choices was limited as opposed to pre pandemic Sunday brunch choices. No carving stations present. No choice of chicken for entree. No pasta choice. Bread choice was limited to mini bagels.
We go to the brunch every year. This time, it was a more reserved in tone and presentation. The food, while quite good, was not as plentiful as in the past. There were a few COVID-19 procedures in place that I think were not necessary but that was their decision.
Overall, a higher price than before, fewer offerings, and no champagne. A bit disappointing overall.
When I made the reservation I thought it was the typical awesome Champagne Brunch. Instead it was a breakfast buffet with very little choices. No pasties
I have been to Seaview's Brunch over the years and it is usually good, expected the same here and was very disappointed. Came in for my wife's birthday (table of 4) and was seated at a table almost touching the buffet table, asked to be moved as there were multiple tables available by window. We were moved with no problem. Ordered three drinks bloody mary, champagne and mimosa. 2 drinks came out we were told they were still making the mimosa (what?). 10 minutes later it showed. Were served some fruit, baked goods and shrimp family style (3 medium shrimp each). All were pretty good. Approached buffet, Remember this brunch was $36pp and did not include drinks. First four chafers were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes (can you say Denny's) then what they called pork loin in like a bbq sauce was luke warm tough and fatty. Stuffed flounder dried out and tasteless, chicken breast on couscous was moist and pretty good, didnt try the whipped sweet potatoes, and the best thing , and isn't that sad, was the cauliflower au gratin. They also an omelet station, had some bagels out and some individually portioned out salads and had some mini desserts brought to table. For $36 I would have expected some prime rib or smoked salmon etc somewhere, or at least a cocktail or two. We also ordered a bottle of champagne 10 minutes after we were told they didnt have it (out of maybe 5 or six sparkling selections on list) ordered a different one which they had, was put on ice and rested on a window sill behind our table. Service was spotty, food average at best, This buffet was worth about $20..... Won't hurry back.
Terrible dried out hot food And limp salads frozen desserts no champagne no carving station no hot desserts nothing like the previous Buffet they used to have which was wonderful oh and it cost seven dollars more $37 was such a rip off. They did not even have dinner rolls. The fruit salad had old fruit in it I could go on and on.
Will never go back again.
We loved the "past" Seaview Brunch but it had been many many years and it was while Marriott owned and operated the facility. We were in the area again and went back for "old time sake" as we had so many wonderful memories.
While it was a good meal and experience. The areas for improvement to meet expectations to costs (not even considering the way it used to be) are:
Have Tableclothes on the Table, have Live Piano Music (or at least nice piped in Piano/relaxing Music), Family style "Apps" were fine - but should be re-fillable, Include at least 1 Mimosa or Bloody Mary. Desserts should be re-fillable.
The Omelet Station and other food was good.
The current state it was not worth the price. I would not return if things didn't change.
Great food and service! Would come here again.
great food, gave us dessert on the house for our 50th anniversary.
No longer what it once was ! Don't bother. Service was outstanding, food was less than sub par.
Beautiful property and elegant decor. Waiter was great and all of the staff , including valet, were exceptionally friendly . The prime rib special was fabulous and a very good value. Rolls were cold and a bit hard, mashed garlic potatoes were so good , other sides were very lack luster. It may have been a bit too quiet . The tables should have been set nicer. No bread plate, didn’t replace silverware for each serving, didn’t bring coasters or napkins with the drinks and no table cloths so it was a little messy. Needed to ask for paper cocktail napkins. All in all, it was a nice experience but they needed some music or entertainment. Has so much potential to be fabulous. Just needs a little more in atmosphere, table setting and flowers etc. It’s a go there one time for dinner place. I heard the Sunday brunch is wonderful . Will try that sometime . I give it a B+
The prime rib special was amazing! Portions were very large and done perfectly! Kitchen was slow but since the food was delicious we will try it again!
Elegant atmosphere. Food exceptional. Service good.
It was a girl cousins brunch. Our waitstaff was excellent, she went out of her way to ensure we had everything perfect. She’s a real asset.
The dining was large and beautiful with glass windows looking out to the grounds which we enjoyed!
The dinner menu was extremely limited! Had to ask server for bread snd butter! No bread dishes were provided! Service was slow! Prices were reasonable!
My fiance and I were very excited to dine here with another couple. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't so great. The food was disappointing. I ordered the butternut squash soup, and it was too salty and just tasted gross. My fiance ordered the clams casino. It was TERRIBLE. The men ordered prime rib, and neither of them liked it. The salmon entree was exceptional. The drinks were fantastic. I recommend their espresso martini. The desserts were delicious. We split the cheesecake, and the other couple split the chocolate cake. To top off the evening, our waitress gave our credit card to another table that left right away, before we received our check. That was annoying.
Overall not a terrible experience, and I will be returning for cocktails, but not for dinner.
Quiet, fast service. Good food
My family has been going to the Seaview for over 25 years and even though the decor has changed, the ambience and peace of the resort remains. My husband and I always loved the Main Dining Room and the Oval Room for Easter and Mother Day brunch. My children had the best times during the summer at the pool and the game room.
Congrats to the management and staff
Great setting with water view in distance. Food was delish and service was good.
Great view. Good Covid spacing and protocols. Very good food. Pleasant, competent service. Fair pricing.
The photos on the website look nothing like what we experienced. I was expecting a more upscale restaurant with high quality food to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Maybe due to Covid?? but we were the only people in there! It was disappointing to say the least. The hamburger and rib special would normally be a great option if we were at our local bar. We left after having mediocre drinks and appetizers and found a nice Italian restaurant close to the hotel (as we were staying there).
We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary by having brunch at the Seaview. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was lots of golfing activity. Everything was wonderful from the valet to the service. Started with shrimp cocktail, fruit bowl and breakfast pastries. Many options for the main course and we both had 2 eggs with potatoes, bacon, sausage, pork roll and pancakes. Finally a dessert plate of mini cheesecakes, macaroons and truffles. Coffee and juice was included and we also had a mimosa. Wonderful atmosphere and a great way to celebrate!
Amazing food, excellent service and beautiful room/hotel. Can’t wait to go back again!
I liked the fact that there was valet parking and they were very professional and courteous. The dinning room only had about 7-9 tables around the perimeter that had patrons, and with just their discussions, it seemed to be loud and noisy. The service was great, the ambiance was great, the food was ok, they overcooked the king prime rib. Maybe I should have ordered it medium rare, instead of medium. There was no pink throughout the king cut. With a formal dinning room that size, I thought there should be more entree selections on the menu.
