Private party facilities
Seaview restaurant fulfills many needs for the hotel, as well as being the only full buffet breakfast restaurant on property; it also serves as a function space for weddings, parties and corporate events. The neutral color palette sets the tone for any event, allowing the client to make the space their own with the use of unique table settings and decorations.
Flexible table arrangements, with comfortable, moveable banquette seating and portable wooden screens add interest. This along with the sculptural art pieces adorning the walls, and sheer-style drapes flanking the columns have created the transformation into the dynamic Seaview.
The outdoor patio, facing toward the ocean has been extended dramatically. Elegant new patio doors grant direct access from the outside of the building to the inside of the restaurant.

OpenTable Diner (San Diego)

The brunch was excellent. There was a lot of people coming at our arrival and there was some confusion on the part of the receptionist in giving tables to people who were just coming without reservations and our group of four who had a reservation. The receptionist had told me to stand near the reception area and they would announce my name shortly, but I saw all these others who were getting beepers, being given tables before us. So, I went to her and asked when we would be getting a table and she said she was sorry for the delay and got us a table. It was only about 15 minutes late and not a big deal.

Delicious food and variety of selections. Food was very fresh and they had smoked salmon, omelette bar, waffles with toppings and many other options. The only downside is they added 18% gratuity to the bill, which I thought was excessive for a buffet.

We went to the Seaview for the Christmas Buffet . It was absolutely stunning and perfect in every way. Everything was absolutely superb top-quality from their king crab, prime rib, side dishes, salads, exotic cheeses, beautiful desserts and spectacular decorations.

Table is really small. The family of us (4 adults + 2 kids) were put in a high stand table usually you will find fits 4 people max. The plates are normal size so ends up the table is super crowded. Also it's not super family friendly to put kids (the youngest is only 2) into high stand table (they stack two high chairs together for one kid to make up the height for them to reach the table. Not even sure if this is even safety compliant). Also service is not good at all. Server made you feel requesting any from her is asking her for a big favor. Will not recommend sorry.

I would have appreciated had it been noted SOMEWHERE that this restaurant, with a cost rating of $, was charging $70/person for their Thanksgiving buffet. It was quite a shock to receive a bill for $169 for lunch for 2!!

The price. Very expensive for muffins, cookies, cold cereal, oatmeal and fruit. There is nothing special about this meal that warrants the $21.95 per person price for a continental breakfast. Or $26.95 to include meat, pancakes or waffles.

The wait staff was excellent!

I was a little disappointed by my experience due to the number of great reviews for brunch. The omelette was under cooked, the crab cake benedict was lacking crab, and my server did not top off tea or check on me throughout the meal.

Boasting the title "Seaview," and being at the Hyatt right on the bay, we were expecting to have a view of the bay for our friends visiting from out of town. We sat on the patio and could see the tops of a couple of yachts. The inside dining was very loud.

However, the service was great and so was the food!

I made a reservation for a business breakfast. It was a busy time downtown San Diego, and as a consequence the restaurant was very busy as well. But we were seated promptly, the service was impeccable and the food was very good.

Previous visits had led me to remember it as an elegant place for brunch. This occasion however was not the same. The restaurant has been moved & redesigned and unfortunately felt like a Las Vegas buffet. The prices were high for the quality and choices of selection. The noise level was quite high, especially as we were seated by the kitchen. Alcohol orders took forever to arrive. Powdered organic scrambled eggs are still powdered eggs. Pastries/breads did not seem fresh.
I enjoyed the fact that my family was together for the meal, coming from quite some distance for this special event, but in the future I'll make the decision to sample the nearby restaurants.

Excellent food, especially the selection of seafood and fresh sushi. Service was good, but docked a star because we had to ask several times for drinks and subsequent refills. Also did not like our first table and had some hassle being re-seated, then not having enough chairs. Overall good experience, though.

We dined here for their Mother's Day brunch, it was amazing. The food was all delicious with a strong French influence. The service was also amazing, our waiter Danny was very attentive and personable. He made sure all our needs were met. It also wasn't overly crowded when we dined. I can only imagine that their normal brunch is just as tasty.

The food and service were excellent. When I was making my reservation I think I misunderstood the price. I don't know that it is a brunch worthy of $70 per person, but we did have a wonderful time together as a family with great food and service!

The buffet was $30 a piece and I didn't feel I got my monies worth. There was a lot of food but (at least part of it) wasn't very good quality. The fruit tasted out of season (since it was February it probably was). I don't think a person can eat enough food to justify a $30 breakfast. Granted we are all on expense accounts but that "ripped off feeling" doesn't bode well for the Hyatt's image. Also the open floor plan (no walls or buffers to absorb or diverse noise) made it difficult to carry on a conversation. The wait staff was prompt, polite and efficient.

P.S. I would change the noise rating on this survey from "energetic" to "loud". Energetic has a positive connotation. It doesn't fairly rate the environment.

Based on the reviews on Open Table, I made a reservation to try out the Seaview for brunch. We normally go to the Sunday brunch at Humphrey's and we wanted to try something different. It was different and we will not be returning.

The room was a typical breakfast area that you would find at the Marriott, I was expecting more from the Hyatt. Had I known it was inside of the Hyatt, I probably would not have made the reservation. The food was average, the service was fair. If you are fine paying $30 for the "full" buffet (2 stations, no lunch, seafood, or dessert) and an additional $15 for mimosas, then this is the place for you.

However, you could go to Humphrey's for endless mimosas and and outstanding breakfast, lunch, seafood, omelet, carving, and and dessert stations for only $50.

This is a great place for a buffet breakfast. If you get Sammy as your waiter you are in for a treat. He makes every guest feel special and important. We have had the chance to have him on two separate occasions. Such a wonderful person who has excellent customer service skills. Food is great as well. My daughter loved the hot cocoa with whip and marshmellos plus a yummy waffle= heaven.

We had a thanksgiving brunch with our baby. The food was good & hostesses were very nice. The only thing missing is a private place for nursing moms. But we will come back again next year. We had a great time.

The hostess was friendly and welcoming. When our server was too busy to get to us the hostess offered bread and butter that was most welcome and I should mention delicious. The fish tacos were fabulous however the on I n rings were not up to our expectation. Over all I would highly recommend this restaurant.
