Seaspice & Modern Garden Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I were quite disappointed with the service at Seaspice. We waited for 45 minutes past our reservation to be seated. When we inquired with the front a couple times while we waited, the staff was quite rude. Finally, we were told we would be seated with a beautiful view on the terrace, since we waited so long. Instead we were ushered inside to some random table in the middle of foot traffic.
The waiter took 15 minutes to take our order, then we waited almost an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, it was very salty, and just "ok". We had a couple courses (an appetizer and entree), and for both we didn't receive any silverware, so we had to wait until we could grab the waiter to get them before we could actually eat the food in front of us.
When we received the bill, we were surprised to find that 18% gratuity was already added. No wonder no one cared to give good service! With their high prices, they're already guaranteed a great tip no matter what they do. We're never coming back here again.
If you want to be able to talk to anyone in your party, this is not the place to go. The music was deafening. And they are really disorganized. They told us that we wouldn't be seated for our 6:30 reservation until about 7:30. And of course, they have their "policy" to charge $50 per head for a reservation that's cancelled w/in 24 hours. I'm pretty sure that's because people who show up might just leave once they see how chaotic. Food is ok, overpriced if you ask me, and my seafood casserole arrived very lukewarm, and with no bread to sop up the broth. I won't be back here again.
Appalling. Arrived with a reservation at5.45. Our table was finally available at 7.15. The noise level was deafening and the pervasive fried food smell was unpleasant. $15 for parking was also outrageous. Avoid this place unless you are really desperate to be seen by other vacuous types
The food took for ever. We waited nearly 2 hours from the time we placed the order until we finally got served. The Manager did not have the courtesy of coming to our table to talk with us and provide us an excuse, or explanation, even though I requested to see him/her. On top of that terrible service, the bill included the MANDATORY service charge. Needless to say, none of us (4 people) were pleased with the experience.
We had reservations for 8:45, and had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. There excuse was they were busy. Many people that came after we did, were seated before. If you knew someone you have vip seating. Personally loved the food and service we receive from our waiter Jesus. But don’t think I’ll be back. Too many nice restaurants in Miami to have to be treated like a second class citizen. Horrible table!!!
This was our first time at Seaspice. We were celebrating our first Mr&Mrs Valentine Date. It was truly amazing. We loved everything about this restaurant. Beautiful view and perfect for a date night. Very cozy amd romantic. A hidden gem. Service was also excellent.
VERY expensive. I went there knowing this but it was pretty over the top so still worth mentioning. Crab tempura appetizer was over $40. Service was also painfully slow. It took almost an hour to get our entrees after finishing our appetizers and once we did get them the duck I ordered was very over cooked. We also ordered the wagyu hot stone which tasted AMAZING but it was about $30 per ounce. All of this was tolerable UNTIL a table of about 10 people was sat next to us and proceeded to chain smoke with zero regard for the others around them. Now I have managed restaurants in the past and am very familiar with Florida restaurant smoking laws. This was a 100% covered patio space which means that smoking there is legally prohibited. We mentioned this to the wait staff who mumbled something to the smokers (not sure what) but did not stop them as they continued to light one cigarette after another. It is REALLY hard to appreciate the subtleties if a $95 three ounce piece of wagyu when your senses are being assaulted by cigarette smoke especially when you are highly allergic to it as I am (spent the rest of the evening having an allergic reaction and popping benadryls - thanks for that). We skipped dessert, paid our bill, and got out of there as quickly as the turtle-speed service would allow. Our bill was over $400 for 2 people and we will definitely not be returning.
The beginning was dealing with the very obnoxious valet driver’s who couldn’t have been less friendly. The build out of the space looks great, the service was excellent, food was good, sadly not great though, value definitely not good, lunch for 2 with no drinks or dessert $145 plus tip was excessive for what we had. Overall good vibe and people watching for sure
A seafood Italian restaurant, with a good wine list and price. Beatiful place, withh a choice to arrive by Boat. Extraodinary versions of italian appetizers and entrées. A minor issue we have with the service, that need more efficiency and courtesy. But i give the 5 Stars for the food, wine and ambience. Fabolous
The hostess pretended to not remember we wanted to sit outside. I had a reservation and she asked us to wait a few more minutes only to watch her seat people who came after us, before us. The lobster eggs Benedict had no flavor. The hash brown was watery and had no flavor. Our cocktails barely had alcohol in them. Our server was kind. The outside was nice. We won't be back 😊
The only problem I had was that I called to reserve a table and nobody explained that there was a difference of spaces (lounge/vip and restaurant) and difference of values. When I arrived I thought I would sit outside but it cost $500 per person and no one informed me anything. I found a little flawed this part..
The hostess experience is poor. They do not greet and offer exceptional customer service. Made us wait for a while and had to go and ask what’s going on. They didn’t apologize for their mistake in forgetting about us. Also forgot that we asked for an indoor table and instead sat us outside. When we asked to change to indoors they said not possible. Finally the waiter helped us sit inside.
