Seasons 52 - San Diego - UTC Ratings and Reviews
Happy to see that Seasons 52 took reservations as we otherwise would have had to wait (even at 6pm!). They have a diverse menu, preparations are "healthier" than most restaurants and the menu includes calorie counts. We sat in the room that generally is reserved for large, private parties and it was delightfully quiet (most of the restaurant is a bit louder). Always a good, relatively guilt-free meal!!
We are regular fans of S52, however they really missed the mark this time. The service was slow and mediocre, although the server was friendly and upbeat. Two people in our party ordered a seafood meal and it just was not good. I ordered the meatloaf and it was pretty good however my green beans were undercooked and not very fresh. We will probably return at some point and give it another chance, but if this was our first time dining at this location we probably would not go back.
We’ve eaten at Seasons 52 many times and usually enjoy it. On this occasion we were given a poor table near a doorway/waiter traffic. I would have recommended the manager not add this table - even though the restaurant was busy. I am in the restaurant business though my restaurants are not located in San Diego.
3 person party. we all had seafood (carmelized scallops, plank salmon, sea bass) and enjoyed our dishes (nice presentation, tasty food); we also had one each of their desserts. The one, possibly trifling, mar in the service was that while the server was attentative and assidious in refills (soda and iced tea), she never brought straws with the refills (we had 2 refills of one beverage and 1 refill of another).
Convenient local place for dinner. Good drinks, flat breads were quite tasty. One guest didn't enjoy the scallop dish while another did. Manager promptly comped the dissatisfied individual. Others were happy with their salmon dishes. Overall quite acceptable, convenient, and well run place
Was my birthday. The waiter John was outstanding. Brought us Champaign, took a picture. Everything was on time. He was attentive. I live pretty close. My favorite restaurant. Had the best time. Thank you seasons 52. Taking friends to your sister restaurant off harbor drive tomorrow night.
Monday night (holiday). Family dinner.
Excellent venue. Service was great. Ambiance was nice. Prices seemed to have gone up about 10% since our last visit in early 2017.
Food tonight was less tasty than previous visits. Pizza was oh-so-salty. Medium-well filet mignon was came out well-done and basically dead. Mash potatoes were stale and hard. Fish was of lower quality than before. Desserts were way too sweet.
Overall though, this is a great above-average dining option, cumulative review of this restaurant is better than tonight's less-than-good night.
My husband and I spent New Year’s Eve dinner at Seasons 52. We ordered the same meals we had before.. scallops with risotto and a lobster tail on the side, shrimp & grits, and Brussels sprouts. The food is always fresh and delicious. This is one of our favorite restaurants. Only downside is that it is always freezing in this restaurant. The air conditioning runs high. I have to wear a jacket when I eat here.
Sensational service, yummy menu with healthy selections and options to amend.
Season's has been one of my favorite dining spots since it opened years ago.
Daniella Papay the manager is on top of her game in managing the staff. Everyone is so accommodating and with a smile!!!!
Renee our server was amazing !! She made great recommendations and was just the right amount of attentive. The food was great and reasonably priced. Love that my parking got validated too . Can't wait to go back! Hopefully we will have Renee serve us again :)
I came here to have a celebratory dinner with a group of 10. I ordered the New York Steak Strip with a side of lobster tail. The meat was cooked perfectly medium-rare and was absolutely delicious. Our server surprised us with a toast of champagne and a variety of desserts to finish up our meal. I loved the ambiance of this restaurant because it isn't too loud and beautifully decorated inside.
Seasons 52 has been one of our favorite restaurants since it opened in La Jolla but, unfortunately, our recent dinner there was very disappointing. The food was mediocre. Our server was nice but not familiar with the menu items beyond the written description. For example, questions were asked about the vegetarian plate that he did not know nor did he have any interest in finding out from the kitchen. The entire meal was very disappointing and not worth the effort to try again as there are too many consistently good restaurants to chose from.
Brooke was the best server we have ever had here. Christmas Eve reservations were a mess; either people were taking too long to eat or they hadn't planned well to hold tables for confirmed reservations, because it was a zoo at front and we had to wait 20 mins. past our reservation time in a crowded area. But once we sat down Brooke was a superhero. We had terrific service and she got our dishes out promptly. Their basic salad is always delicious here, and we also enjoyed the beet salad; cheese flatbread (which is just ok); steaks; and the maui crunch mango tuna salad, as well as the mini desserts. The food here is usually pretty reliable but the service can sometimes be maddening. Three cheers for Brooke!
We dined at Seasons 52 UTC on Christmas Eve. The food was great as always, the service good, too, but our booth close to the bar (but not in the bar room) was very noisy. And the live music we were told would be there--and were looking forward to--did not appear. Still a favorite restaurant of mine.
Seasons 52 offers consistently great cuisine. They offer a creative menu which changes by season to capture locally fresh ingredients. Their menu specializes in healthy gourmet selections. from seafood to steak. The flatbreads are an appetizer must - all are delish! And don’t worry about leaving room for dessert - you have to have one! They come in shot size glasses and the variety is too tempting to resist! The atmosphere is classy casual. I love this place!
I love Seasons! This was a birthday celebration but we are regulars. There is no better ambiance...it’s always beautiful and festive. The service is always lovely and never disappoints. I had to dock a star for food quality because the last two times we’ve been there the scallops have come out overdone: a very hot plate with dried out scallops, suggesting they’d been under the heat lamp too long. But I can’t leave on a critical note cuz I love the place!
