Seasons 52 - San Diego - UTC Ratings and Reviews
Delicious food, tasty cocktails and wonderful service! The ambiance, however, was eh. This isn’t a knock on Seasons 52, but I️ find that every time I book a reservation through OpenTable, we’re always seated in the most unfavorable section of a restaurant, the same went for this restaurant, as well. I️ was concerned that service would suffer because of our location, but luckily it wasn’t an issue at all. Next time I’ll be more specific in my reservation and see if that makes a difference.
Our server, Brooke, made my Birthday extra special with her sparkling personality and Outstanding service (especially when you know how fussy my 3 friends were!!)
We continue to celebrate our birthdays with you because of the TLC you give us with the champagne toast, picture & of course the delicious mini dessert!!
Make a reservation in advance to avoid the crowds. They are notably busy on Fridays and weekends. They have a great variety on their menu that fits everyone’s palate. The have a wonderful selection of happy hour menu. We came here for our Anniversary dinner with our 5 year old. They have free Wifi so our daughter enjoyed watching her shows on her iPad. The food is delicious, the price is right, the service is great. Greatly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
For some reason, the service which started out very well became very poor. Tables that arrived after us were served before us and some were gone by the time our main course was delivered. Considering that we ordered filets medium rear, I don't understand why it took approximately 45 minutes after our soup and salad were delivered to receive the main course. We sat down at 5:45 and did not receive our main course till approximately 7:00. Then I could not get the waitresses attention to bring our bill, which was incorrect when finally delivered. We were almost late for our 7:30 movie which was less a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. They did try to make amends by giving us a small gift card. From now on, I will only eat in the bar area.
It was crowded and the usuals mix people. Business and friends dining.
We all ordered the harvest menu. Not a good value at all for the money. The lamb was tasteless. Salad was ok. My friend had the short ribs and liked her meal. Two of our friends had the vegetarian option which was basically a huge broccoli, some grits that was labeled “ paella, “a kohlrabi “steak “and spaghetti squash. Not a very good mix.
The food took forever as we munched on our salads which had no dressing. Spinach and pear salads.
The only redeeming factor is our waitress was apologetic and since we were celebrating birthdays gave us our wines on the House.
We went on a Monday night at 5:30 and there were 6 of us. It was hopping for a Monday night! We have been to this place a few other times but these last two times I felt it was a tad less than usual. Although our waiter was very good most of the time, we were left a few times without water and had to flag someone down to get our refills. I think it was because he was too busy. Maybe they weren't expecting such a crowd on a Monday? We also had to ask about our food because though our appetizers were brought on time, our mains took forever -- way too long. They have a great happy hour menu and wine. Flatbreads were good as was the meatball appetizer. This is the second time my salmon tasted fishy on the salad. Will take a break from coming here for awhile and not recommending it at this time. Hopefully, they will pick it up soon as it was generally a good place to eat.
We asked to be seated in a quieter space and that was made possible. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The desserts were enticing. Once one person in our party tasted my dessert, she ordered one herself. The number of calories was a selling point. The complimentary valet service made a big difference.
Hostest was very mean , I git my reservation at 7:15 and she told me that doesn’t matter I have to wait 50 minutes. That is not her problem that people don’t leave.
I went into the bar and she never called me. I finally eat there, leave at 9:30 and she never texted me that My table was ready.
Salad was soggy and distasteful, salmon was cooked perfectly with a medium rare pink center .My husband’s macaroni and cheese was watery and unappetizing and the lobster tail that came with it was very small. Portion size was inconsistent with the previous times that we had visited this restaurant.
We went for my birthday.. I be been before but my husband had never been.. I've only been to the Costa Mesa location.. it was very nice we were staying in Del Mar for the breeders cup . Google location and was happy to see only 10 to 15 minutes away. Had the salmon and steak. Everything was good. The waitress also brought a champagne toast for my birthday!! Great service good food, and happy hour was until 7 . We have friends going to San Diego next week I am definitely tell them to try it. I know they will like it. Loved the Harvest deal!!
After some initial confusion we were seated at the table requested at reservation. Our server Andrew was energetic and knowledgeable of the menu. He brought us two cocktails off the menu which we liked very much. The Chicken Flatbread was soggy and bland unlike our previous experience at this place. The Caramelized Sea Scallops were over done and did not pair well with the runny risotto and greens. The Lamb Shank to the contrary was exceptional, cooked to perfection and flavorful. The mini desserts are always a favorite with us and we enjoyed a double espresso with it. Andrew was attentive and made our evening. Thank you.
We made a reservation to celebrate with my employees and a couple on a date was sat at our table with us! Really made everyone feel uncomfortable or talk about business with them trying to enjoy a nice dinner. Honestly left all of us wishing we chose a different venue
Absolutely love their menu with great seasonal options. They had a special, $30 for soup/salad, main entree, and desert plus a glass of wine for $6! Filet was fantastic as was the butternut squash soup... second time here and need to go back to try a couple other menu items that looked yummy! Great service as well...
This restaurant located at the east end of UTC near Potterybarn features seasonal vegetables and BETTER food and service than other brands in their restaurant family including olive garden. This is a special occasion restaurant, nice big bar, live music from behind the bar every evening. Private room dining available. Busy weekday La Jolla lunch crowd. Don't show up dressed down! The food is good, attractively prepared. One tiny complaint was the roasted root veg-purple carrot yellow beer potato medley- the carrots lacked flavor. It wasn't the preparation: the texture and caramelization were all there. It was the actual carrot. No flavor. The cedar plank salmon was fresh juicy and full of flavor. Beautidul. Also, the roast artichoke was terrific as were the shisito peppers. We will be back!
The service was outstanding. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. From the manager to our server, the staff provided amazing service and made the occasion very special for us. My wife loved the food and attention to detail the staff put into our service. I really appreciate all the attention to detail that was invested and I can highly recommend Seasons 52 to anyone that is looking for a fine dinning experience with excellent service. Once again, thanks to all the staff at Seasons 52 UTC San Diego for the experience.
