Seasons 52 San Diego - Seaport District Ratings and Reviews
The first time I went to Seasons 52, I did not have a good experience. I decided to give it a second chance and unfortunately it wasn't any different. We waited too long for our food. The server would forget to bring things we would ask her for. We would have to scope out the restaurant to try to get someone's attention. Basically, customer service is horrible. Food is fair, not much more to say on that.
Food was good. We had salmon and chicken Harvest Menu. Salmon was cooked to perfection although the side dish carrots were undercooked and I could not eat them. My husband liked his chicken leg with mashed potatoes although I thought it was a bit dry when I tasted it. The spinach salad as a starter was plenty and delicious. We ordered a chicken pesto flatbread for an appetizer and it was delicious and good appetizer size to share with drinks. Overall food was delicious but the menu seems to be somewhat limited. The service was very mediocre for a relatively expensive place like this. Our waitress was not attentive. She forgot my wine order and it took forever to get a glass of wine and I did not have anything to drink while we were munching on the appetizer. That was disappointing. She did not come back to fill our drinks, but we could ask someone else. She came back to ask how our food was, but she sounded so cookie cutter and did not feel friendly. Overall, the rating for this place is more about their service, but service is a big part of dining experience, so we left saying that we might not come back to this place. We felt the quality of their service did not match the close to $100 check. I had some not so great waiters at their other location in UTC, so this may be an issue of their service training.
We were in San Diego celebrating our anniversary. Seasons 52 was recommended to us by our son. We were promptly and courteously seated by the very hardworking hostess. Our waitress greeted, took our order and served our food in a very timely manner. Food was really good and atmosphere was incredible except for the screaming kid a few tables away. I guess some parents just don’t have a clue. Very well runned restaurant. Managers were in top of it. We ll be back.
Kelly was a terrific server explaining every question that arose. One of us had the harvest menu and with the size of the lamb chop it was a terrific value. One of us skipped the harvest menu to get the wonderful sea bass. All mini desserts are great here.
The biggest knock against this restaurant was removing the piano player from the bar. The ambiance in all the Seasons 52 locations that have the piano player is much better.
Other than our initial experience while waiting for our table at the bar, we had a great time. The bartender told us that he "was really busy right now" and couldn't help us, and we waited about fifteen minutes for a waitress (fruitlessly) before our table was ready. Our waiter was great once we sat, food was fantastic, service from then on was amazing, but whatever you do, don't show up early!
It was my birthday, and they not only offered me a free dessert but also a small glass of champagne for me and my guest, and a handwritten happy birthday card. Really thoughtful. The food as always was good and healthy ... I'm on the Whole30 diet so it was great to have several options that were Whole30 compliant, and to eat seasonally with their changing menus.
The greeter/ hostess was horrible. We showed up early and asked to sit outside for drink, and we punished by being ignored. When seated there were stirrers, plastic and drink coasters on the seat. We were chastised again by hostess for removing it for the seat and placing it the table. Food and other debris on the floor. Dirty dishes stacked on divider behind the table.
On the other hand our waitress Kira couldn’t have been lovelier. She was fantastic.
I always make it s point to eat at this chain as the food is healthy and fresh. Always have had a great experience. Regrettably, this time the food was not up to the usual standard across all courses. Service was ok but not the usual engaging and enjoyable interaction. Hope they get back on track.
I was really taken aback when they served an obviously corked wine. Not a new just opened bottle, but one that was opened for several days. Did the bartender think no one would notice?
The Carmelized Scallops were OUTSTANDING, but my main course chicken was dry and tasteless. I love chicken but I couldn't finish this one. The potatoes were tasteless, and the vegetables undercooked.
We live downtown and can easily walk to Seasons 52. The food, the presentation, and the service is exceptional and always worth the walk. This is our first choice of a dining experience when we have family or friends visit. We love the flatbreads, the salads, the French onion soup, the Chilean Sea Bass (in season), the ravioli offerings, you name it. The desserts are varied, scrumptious, and just the right size, so you don't feel guilty ordering your own personal treat to end the delightful evening.
Great way to celebrate our 28th anniversary. Brought our friends along, they were impressed! Server was attentive, did table checks, & surprised us with champagne toast! Had a slight food glitch, but MOD was quick to fix & our dining was uninterrupted! Freshness of the food & the creativity of season's best make this a standout dining experience. Always a winner!
A lively and engaging atmosphere with a variety of areas to sit and a menu to suit any occasion. Staff seem happy which is an indicator of a well run joint. Reasonably priced and wort a visit. Just need to turn down the volume on selling the rewards scheme.
Service was slow and it wasn't crowded. Got sitted in an area where the server was busy with a bigger table so it would take a bit to get served. Food was just okay. The food is missing finesse. Also, they didn't cook one of our orders properly and had to watch others eat. They took care of the meal, but the experience was ruined. Ok top of it all, one of us got sick after eating here. We saw other tables send their food back. It seems like the cook got mad for sending the food back. I guess we should have just left and avoid getting sick. We have been to other locations and will never go to Seasons 52 in San Diego.
We normally love Seasons 52, but our visit to the San Diego spot wasn't really very good.
My husband had lobster bisque that looked & tasted like dirty water, we enjoyed our flatbread, but our entrees were only so-so.
I had short ribs that were over cooked & the veggies were burnt through. My husband had the filet. He asked for sweet potatoes, but received unseasoned white potatoes, it took another 20 minutes for the sweet potatoes & they were exactly the same. Boiled, roughly mashed & no seasoning, butter, etc. The best part was the little desserts.
Service was slow & not up to standard. We waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine, another 20 for the right potatoes, nothing was right. It wasn't a busy night so I'm not sure what happened, but we won't go back to that particular Seasons 52 again.
