Seasons 52 - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
We were not impressed. We were a group of 12 with a reservation and indicated in the reservation we had time constraints because we had movie tickets. We allowed an hour and 45 minutes for dining. After we were seated it took 20 minutes for waitress to take drink orders. But she left before she took orders from 3 of us. And another 20 minutes to get drinks. In spite of informing her we had time constraints. We ordered our meal an hour after arriving and it arrived 25 minutes before we had to leave. All courses - soup, salad, dinners- arrived at the same time. Food was cold.
Service was excellent from the bar tender but the food left a lot to be desired, in the autumn dish there was too much oil and butter in one of the items and then the broccoli was a large bunch just raw and burnt on the end from too hot of a grill.
Only the cocktail was good and. Maybe the only reason to go back
Each time I have dined at Seasons 52 I have been very pleased with the service and the food. The wait attendants have all been very good and attentive. The highlight is the dessert tray with the individual containers of the fancy sweets from which to choose.
NOTE: this is twice of 10+ times service was poor. Overall it's a very good restaurant with excellent food. Tonight, our service was less than adequate and we had to involve the manager 2 times to get resolution. Between missing order items, and the 40 minutes it took for service of food, it was an embarrassing evening as we suggested this restaurant. The manager presented the bills, they were incorrect. No comment from the manager as to the poor restaurant evening - A much deserved "I am sorry for your poor service" would have gone a long way.
We were celebrating our anniversary and Seasons 52 made it very special. Our server was very personable and attentive, checked on us, and wished us a happy anniversary. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was boisterous but not overwhelming at all. We received complimentary champagne and dessert. Overall a memorable experience and highly recommended.
The service was wonderful, everyone was very polite and the staff worked together to assist all customers. I had the Salmon, which was fantastic, but the sides were not prepared very well. Also had the butternut squash soup, which was very good. Overall, I thought the food was very good, but not outstanding, I feel that the main food item was the focus, with everything else being an afterthought. I did enjoy the restaurant overall and would consider going again for a special occasion.
We enjoyed our visit and meal. I had indicated it was a 40th anniv. event when making the reservation on line, but it was overlooked until I mentioned it to the waiter at the end of the meal. They then did some extra things which we appreciated. The waiter was pleasant but not polished. He needs some caring and experienced supervision.
We enjoyed our last dinner here. The salads are very fresh and the meat was perfectly cooked. BK our server was really hip and cool. He took care of everything nicely. I would recommend dining here. Ask for BK when you visit.
This is one of my go-to restaurants in whenever I visit Sacramento. Top-notch service, fresh seasonal entrees and inviting menu choices make it a must. Although it may be spendy for some diners, they offer specials that bring the prices down to affordable for most. I highly recommend.
After reading a few less than stellar reviews about this place we went anyway. I have to agree with everyone who says that the food is very underseasoned. Our New York steak was very poorly cooked. My lamb shank literally had no seasoning or flavor to it at all, which is actually hard to do with that cut of meat and the way you cook it! Both of our dishes came with mashed potatoes and Sysco special green beans. This restaurant makes a point of touting “seasonal foods and offerings”. There is nothing seasonal about their sides because it’s obvious they came out of a box. The potatoes with the steak were actually cold. Both of our dishes sides were extremely underseasoned and bland. The service was adequate but slightly scattered. The only saving grace was we did have a good selection of wines. We will not be returning to eat here as there is an obvious pattern with our experience and others. Definitely better places within a 5 to 10 minute drive to have dinner.
Been here many times before and normally very good service and food. this either must have been an off night or mgmt. has changed with lack of oversight. Server was cheerful but you could tell we were not in her normal section so were "out of sight out of mind" so to speak. Service was very very slow (even received a comp card for flatbread on our next visit because of it). Food was so so (both entree's very salty) and Lamb was cold when delivered and pork tenderloin was very dry. Must have had to stomp the grapes as wine was extremely slow in arriving to the point when we were done with the corresponding course. Best part of the meal was the flatbread, deviled eggs and the dessert . The rest was actually pretty terrible. Restaurant was full so that may have something to do with service as they may have been understaffed.
unfortunately they were out of two menu items, that we wanted (deviled eggs and mac/cheese). Service was uneven. Steak was cooked to the right temperature but without seasonings (finishing salt was on the side). Sides were poorly seasoned and smashed potatoes were hard and cold. Inedible for me. Desserts were good.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and notified the restaurant of the occasion via OpenTable. They greeted us with a card and half-glasses of champagne! I love that the desserts are all mini (in double shot glasses), so everyone can choose their own at a reasonable portion size instead of going all-or-nothing on a large dessert. The seasonal menu is really fun and we had delicious food and cocktails. The price is right.
In addition to a very romantic setting, the service was outstanding and the food was simply amazing. The filet was cooked perfectly and paired very nicely with the robust wine selection. We loved this place and will absolutely be dining there again, as soon as we get the opportunity.
