Seasons 52 - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
We love Season’s 52 and go there often. However this is the second time that we had to wait 45-50 for a table when we already had a reservation. But the management was understanding and did offer us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. I generally don’t like to wait but my daughter had her heart set on cedar plan Salmon(which she loves)since this would be her first solid meal after getting braces.
The service is above and beyond. They took the lamb chops off the menu ... I complain. The chef makes me a fabulous meal with Lamb chops. Very special. The bartender makes my Cosmo according to my unique specifications. Yes, I sound hard to please. I am. But they do it!
We all enjoyed our meal and entire experience. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
We had a great meal at Seasons 52. The place was crazy busy when we arrived and we waited quite a bit past our reservation time to be seated. When I went to the hostess stand to check on being seated, the manager heard that we had been waiting for a while and immediately whisked us to a lovely booth in the bar area, comped us a cocktail, and personally checked on us several times.
Loved the cauliflower appetizer and the salmon entrée. The scallop entrée was slightly overcooked. All the sides were delicious and vegetable heavy, which I love!
I would definitely return to Seasons 52.
Had dinner at Season's 52 with a good friend on a Saturday evening. Glad I had the sense to make reservations. Midway through our meal the restaurant was packed and the line of people waiting was huge. That says plenty, already. I'd have to say the meal belongs on my top 5 amazing meals list. We started with appetizers; the stuffed mushrooms and tuna tar tar. I would have liked the tuna chopped a bit smaller, but other than that, it was quite tasty. A perfect amount for 2 people. The stuffed mushrooms were the only disappointment of the evening. They were ridiculously salty. I'm not a big salt eater so I had to check with my dinner companion, and she agreed. Someone in the kitchen was heavy-handed with the salt. We must have drank 6 -7 glasses of water each through dinner to get the salty taste out of our mouths. For the entree, I had the Chilean seabass and my friend had the carmelized scallops. Both dishes were absolutely mouthwatering. It was the first time I'd eaten seabass and I'm hooked. The meat was moist and buttery, touched with just the right amount of Asian glaze, sitting stop black rice and encircled with snow peas and shiitake mushrooms. Absolutely phenomenal! My friend's carmelized grilled scallops with butternut squash risitto and broccolini in a lemom butter was equally delicious! The portions were perfect as well. The meal was fabulous overall. We will definitely go back. The atmosphere was also nice. Not too quiet nor too noisy in the dining area. Oh, and their dessert selection is also quite tempting. I love that they are served in shot glasses so as not to overwhelm one but also to allow a tasting of more than one if you're a dessert lover. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the mocha java i believe it was. I unfortunately had to refrain from dessert.
Seasons is my Go-To restaurant when I want something nice. I take guests there, and they have always been impressed. I like the thoughtful menu based on the fresh foods of the season. The choices are healthy and appealing. I also appreciate the tiny offerings of desserts --- nothing too overwhelming after a meal but just a taste of something sweet to round out the meal. I have never been disappointed at Seasons and plan to return often.
We have dined at Seasons 52 twice prior and love the handcrafted cocktails... last weekend was no exception! We were terribly disappointed by the HOUR delay of our 8:15pm reservation, as well as the lack of the front desk staff to manage expectations. We were told upon arrival that reservations were running behind about 30 minutes. We agreed to wait, and indulge in some great cocktails at the bar... only to meet another party already waiting over 45 minutes for their reservation! I felt extremely bad for this couple as they were paying a baby-sitter on their date night. After one hour, we were finally paged to the front desk, only to be asked to wait just a few moments for our table. Another 10 minutes go by, and so do two other sets of diners and we basically lost it! When we were finally seated, most of our party had lost their appetites, we ordered drinks, only two appetizers and one entree. Now, to be fair, the manager apologized profusely, the waitstaff was excellent, and as a goodwill gesture, the manager picked up our check. Thank you. I'm not sure where or how the breakdown occurred... but managing expectations is critical to ensuring return clientele.
We made a reservation for 8PM, but did not get seated until almost 9PM. The manager comped the $8 appetizer we ordered as an apology, but it was still a real drag waiting nearly an hour despite making a reservation.
That being said, the food was fantastic, and our server Heather was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a comprehensive description of the menu.
One of favorite places scored bad this visit and disappointed us. Food order was incorrect, which made order late, turned sour by long wait turned into dis functional staff and then our server had to run all over. Made it easy to not pick cold soup and waiting for water refill etc.
Still cost us $100 for 2 only one drink. Hope this is not the trend moving forward.
Great for a family gathering. Service is always good. Flatbreads are fabulous. I had the bay scallops candidly not a favorite. Everyone else had a great meal. I have absolutely enjoyed my dish every other time I have dined here. The dining room has a dark cozy feel. You can be calorie conscious and have a great time.
Staff was attentive as usual but extra so on Friday. My sister had been in a minor car accident prior to lunch. They were very concerned for her and went above board to make sure that she had a special meal. Special thanks to the front desk ladies, our waiter and the manager for their concern!
