Seasons 52 - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
The hosts were very helpful and friendly, even though we had a large group that arrived late for a smaller reservation. None of my guests had been to Seasons 52 before but loved it. Food was excellent and we had a quiet spot for our party of 11 in the Caneros room. The flatbreads were a nice group appetizer and the steak, Salmon and other entrees were fabulous that night!
Went to dinner with my mom after shopping. My mother has a garlic allergy which proves to be a bit challenging when dining out. We notified our server, Steven. He immediately went to talk with Chef Elizabeth. She came out and talked with my mom and checked over ingredients in order to make sure her food would be garlic free. Chef Elizabeth was patient and caring during a busy dinner service. Steven was attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh, creative, delicious, and outstanding. The manager came by later to make sure my mom was taken care of and had no issues. I would not hesitate on going back.
One of our favorite spots, we came for a birthday celebration, and soon met some friends. The appetizer was great, so was the happy hour wine selection. We enjoyed our entrees and the complimentary dessert. Overall great value and great flavors. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Had a great time with my husband got his birthday! The service and food were great ! It wear perfect except at the end when we received the check a customer came and sat down at our table and said his party was waiting for our table and was very rude to us. We told the manager who told him to leave - the man wouldn't leave for awhile - it really ruined the evening. My suggestion to Seasons 52 management is NOT to tell the customers what table they are supposed to have! It really made us feel rushed and uncomfortable and realistically we could have stayed as long as we wanted! We hope to never have this happen again!
We came on time but waited 20 minutes for our 7:30 Sat. table. Husband's steak and my salmon were excellent, but the special roasted Brussels spouts were dry, tough and tasteless. His wine came late, but server took it off the bill. Overall, ambience made up for everything.
We have been to Seasons 52 many times and we always find the atmosphere and food to be good. We both had the salmon which comes with root vegetables done to perfection. We started with dinner salads which were creatively done. The butternut squash soup was a nice addition to our meal. We have never been disappointed with the food. The bonus is that the calories for each dish is shown on the menu. It’s amazing what one can get into a meal! We will be back for sure.
We have dined at Seasons 52 multiple times including every location in the Chicago area and one in Dallas. While we love the food, we have come to the unfortunate conclusion that the experience depends largely on the main server. Our recent visit was a birthday celebration for my daughter so I made that note on the Open Table reservation. When were were seated, the waiter arrived and immediately started rattling off the menu, including his recommendations, which were exclusively the most expensive items on the menu. He was talking so fast we had a hard time understanding him. At the end of his monologue, he asked if this a special occasion so we reiterated it was a birthday. He then made a big deal about how special he would make it, "we really do it great here." Unfortunately, that was the last we heard of anything special. He came back a couple of times to push us to place our order. He never mentioned the Black Friday small plate special that was advertised and when we asked, he said it was good for another 5 minutes, until the 7PM normal Monday through Friday time, when the web site stated "all day" for Black Friday. Let's just say he did nothing to make us feel anything other than a number. This definitely overshadowed the very good quality of our food so when the bill was presented without a whisper about the birthday, we were in no mood to bring it up. I mentioned this to a manager who was more interested in proving it was not listed on the reservation. This was true, perhaps because we changed the time online and that note must not automatically stay with the reservation. Regardless, we made a point of informing our server first thing so there was certainly no excuse. Our previous visit was completely the opposite so this experience will not keep us from going back. However, the high level of recommendation we generally give when asked will definitely be tempered in the future.
We had the lobster flatbread as an appetizer along with Hawaiian Pineapple Martinis - Excellent. The lunch entree's were just as excellent - crab cake sandwich, was my order. The atmosphere is lovely. Definitely a fun group or date atmosphere. The waitress was very helpful and repeated our order for accuracy.
Thanksgiving evening--Busy which we expected. Waited 30 minutes post reservation which was not bad. Considered eating at bar but glad we didn't. Our server Jessica was great. Head chef and manager stopped by our table to visit. Very thoughtful. We chose not to have turkey special and was glad we did. My wife had scallops--delicious--and I chose lamb shank which was very good. To celebrate Thanksgiving, I asked to substitute dressing for the potatoes and a side of cranberries. Most accommodating. Will be back.
We decided to reserve a table for 6 pm for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived to a restaurant that had clearly overbooked and was struggling to accommodate all those with reservations. The entry was jam packed as was the bar and waiting area, so nowhere to sit - a problem for seniors. We were seated 40 minutes late, with no complementary compensation like a free drink or appetizer that is customary. All in all a bad choice on a busy night.
We had a 5pm reservation Thanksgiving night. We arrived at 4:45 and were told they are running about 20 minutes behind. That’s ok. We walked around the mall then sat at the bar and were seated around 5:30. It was a little disappointing that they over scheduled a special holiday - it felt greedy and not fair to their staff. The food was fantastic. We ate the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was amazing. Despite the reservation issues and the place being packed with slightly unhappy people in the lobby and bar, it’s still my favorite restaurant. If we eat out for a holiday again, I would come back but book earlier in the day.
