Seasons 52 - King of Prussia Ratings and Reviews
Everyone was nice, I was there from out of town with my 4 year old son. We were seated in the bar at a large booth. Well the bar wasn't my first choice - but he did love the piano and singing (+), the waitress gave me a kids menu and I ordered a cup of chicken soup for him from the kids menu and one for me from the regular menu with some flatbread. When they came out they were identical and both had parsley on the top (Most kids don't like green food) so I had to remove as much as I could get off. Very nice restaurant - loved the water and fire in the front, just would be nice not to be in the bar....people give little people (and their parents) strange, annoying looks...
10 am Sunday for a quiet late birthday brunch. Delicious roasted mushroom flatbread, studded with sweet onion, scallion offered to us as first time customers. Enjoyed the subtle flavors of roasted spaghetti squash accompanying my vegetable frittata whose texture married nicely with melted cheese. My companion was not able to finish his portion of hearty shakshuka. Our server was deft, attentive, and personable.
We dined during happy hour which means we got a flatbread and 2 glasses of wine for $15! I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly (medium-rare) and my fiance had the shrimp and grits which he said was outstanding. We each had one of their trademark mini desserts (mine was Belgian chocolate, his was carrot cake). Everything was outstanding and our waiter, Siegfried, was polite, professional, and attentive. I will definitely be back!
It seems that they were having an ‘off night’. We arrived for our reservation but had to wait 25min for a table. We were seated upstairs where the ambience wasn’t as good. Our waitress was courteous but cold and not really friendly. We actually had to send one of the meals and a side dish back to the kitchen as the food wasn’t great - and it was the same meal we ordered last time we were there. We never send dishes back but the Brussels sprouts were dried out like they sat under a warming light for too long and the short ribs were sitting in liquid puddle. We got new dishes and they were ok... but it wasn’t great. I’m not sure I would come back.
I had scheduled a Valentine's Day dinner for 8:15 PM. We arrived and were pleasantly greeted by the complimentary valet that was going on that day. I checked in with the hostess at 8:10 PM, and was notified they were running behind 10-15 minutes; my fiance and I were not seated until 8:55 PM, which was very disappointing and really unacceptable from this establishment.
Once seated, our server was very nice and loud enough that you could actually hear the menu specials but at the same time very professional. We ordered two cocktails that were brought out in a timely manner in addition to the pulled pork flatbread option that we saw being served while waiting to be seated. As soon as the drinks came out, the appetizer shortly followed, and my fiance and I had enough time to look over the menu. We both ordered the filet mignon option (hers medium, mine medium rare) with a small plate of scallops and a small plate of truffle mac n' cheese. Overall, the menu did not seem to have a lot of variety. While I do have some dietary restrictions, each menu item description seemed repetitive and none of the items really made your mouth water.
The food came out in the expected time frame to prepare. The steaks were cooked well; although, the order may have been switched or meats bled/juiced differently. The tomato sizes different between our plates. The mushrooms or truffle in the mac n' cheese seemed to really overpower the dish. The scallops were spot on with their buttery flavor and were cooked well enough to have just melted in the mouth. After our entrees, the dessert shooters were presented to us where we selected the s'mores option.
Overall, while I am being critical of the food and presentation, the service, ambiance, and food were very good. I would recommend Seasons 52 to a friend. Although, I was severely disappointed on how the reservations were overbooked.
Having to wait a half hour after my reserved time has never happened to me before. We usually go to Sullivan’s or Capital Grille for Valentines Day and we’ve never had this problem. After we were seated the service was awesome. The food was great too. Still, it threw my plans off for the rest of the evening. There are so many choices in KOP, Valentines Day should be an opportunity to impress your clientele.
Please do NOT go to Seasons52 on a holiday. We went last night for Valentine's Day after making the reservation a month in advance, and ended up waiting 40 minutes even though we had a reservation. The hostess was clearly frazzled which was not her fault. Clearly, she was swamped (and there were several hostesses) but I don’t appreciate being lied to. They told everyone that came in they were running 15 minutes behind schedule but everyone ended up waiting at least 30 minutes to get seated. They never apologized for the wait time, not when they called us to be seated, nor when they took us to the table, nor when the waitress greeted us, or when the manager came by the table. I get that it was a holiday but I come to Seasons 52 a lot, it is my favorite restaurant but to come there on a holiday, I will NEVER go there again and will go there less often after the way we were treated and never apologized to. I guess you should come to expect that kind of busy traffic during a holiday but not the behavior. Waitress was very attentive and did a great job. We were brought the wrong dinner entrees the 1st time and then 20 minutes later while I was eating my entree, someone brought over a flatbread which was bizarre. Clearly, they could see I was eating an entree so why would he bring appetizer to the table. We told him no it wasn’t us and then he left and the table near us we heard say oh great that was ours. Shocked at how they did NOT have their game together. Only saving grace was the waitress Sidney and the entrees. The flatbread was dried like it had been sitting out a while. Score: D-
The first floor was total chaos as it was Valentines Day. The best kept secret(until now) is the second floor dining room. Peaceful, quiet like a private dining club. The filet and sea bass were delicious and Missy our server was delightful and professional. A wonderful dining experience overall
My wife loves this restaurant, and so I take her there. The place is very nice, appealing, and the wait staff is really good. The appetizers and salads are also very good. I've been there probably eight times and I've yet to have a good filet. My wife got a tuna dish on our most recent visit, and loved it. So, I would just recommend that you stay away from the filet.
The menu is limited as they utilize local products, but the food was very delicious. The waitress was very nice and efficient. We wanted to tweak a few things with our order and she was very accommodating. The only negative was that my appetizer plate was dirty. She gave me another one and it too was dirty. She told me she was taking it down to the dish washer personally. Also, my knife was dirty but since I was not using it, I didn't mention it to her. I would go again, but probably carry my own plastic utensils.
My wife and I had a very nice dinner at Seasons 52 in King of Prussia. We did make reservations, which I recommend, and were seated promptly. The food was excellent. She enjoyed her steak, and I had a great trout dish. I want to make particular note of our server, Matt. He was attentive, pleasantly conversational, and was there just when we wanted him.
Our party of three dined for dinner. We were seated upstairs which was very nice as it was noticeably quieter than downstairs. The flatbreads continue to impress! We shared the mushroom with goat cheese flatbread and it was delicious! My dinner companions each ordered beef - the filet and the strip steak. Both were cooked as ordered and were tasty. I tried the maple glazed roast chicken which was very good, however the glaze was more of a thick sauce. We tried two of the “sized just right” dessert parfaits and enjoyed them.
So diverse! White, black and everything in-between. It oozed comfort and is centrally located in the middle of everything! Sing it’s praises?? No way man, I’ll just sit back and enjoy the ride. Go ahead, whisper to me your secrets as the smells of food waif in the air. I was worried you’d have a tumultuous history stemming from working together on a Naughty by Nature album in 1995 or maybe a staple at the Hunk-O-Mania Strip Club previously but oh, was I wrong! Season 52 PIANO, you were great. Food was good. Date was better. I wanted to whisper back “please wait to put my check on my table until I finish my beer.” But thats the Darden in you. I’ll come back.
Food was delicious and our waiter was very friendly and addressed us by our names. When the bill came, we placed a Seasons 52 gift card that we had received for our anniversary of $100 value in the jacket to pay the $91.00 bill. Our waiter took it and did not return to the dinning area. After a waiting about half hour, we left add'l cash for tip and left at 9:30PM. At about 11:30 PM I received a call from the restaurant questioning if I had paid for dinner, they did not have record of us paying . I was shocked. They were aware that we had left some cash, though but could not find the gift card and bill folder. I never had that experience before and not very happy about it. Lesson learned - I should have asked for a manager before leaving.
Overall, not the same experience that I've come to expect from Seasons 52. To start, we were seated upstairs. It's a lovely place, but the ambiance definitely isn't as young and hip as downstairs for a girls night out. The service was just a bit off overall. The serving staff seemed really inexperienced and kept delivering the incorrect food to our table. Our waiter was friendly and attentive though. The incorrect bill with credit card was also delivered to our table at the end of the meal. Not an awful experience...but not what I'm used to in my past experiences here.
