Seasons 52 - Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
I had never eaten at Seasons 52 but tried it on the last day of Restaurant Week. I will definitely be taking my family there. The whole experience was exceptional. This will be somewhere I definitely recommend. Everything we had was delicious and our server, Becca, was a delight.
Very very slow to seat and serve. Waited 30 min to be seated and showed up on time. What's the point of the reservations??? Server very inattentive. Remained thirsty most of the visit. We were there over 2 hours and we don't eat slow. My family is generally 45 min eaters. On top of all that, the food was somewhat bland and the bill was very expensive. Definitely not worth it.
This was one of the nicest evenings out we have had in a long time. We took advantage of the prix fixe dinner pricing for restaurant week, and despite the lower price the choices were excellent and the portions more than adequate. The server was charming and helpful without being intrusive.
My husband and I had a very nice dinner at Seasons 52 as part of Restaurant Week. As expected, on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, it was quite busy. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner very much, and the servers did a nice job keeping up with the crowd. The space is lovely, with lots of beautiful woodwork and art glass vases as part of the decor. The list of wines by the glass is really lengthy, which is unusual. I didn't realize until after we made our reservation that the "52" is for 52 wines by the glass. We would return.
We had a truly exceptional experience. Our server, Rachel, was outstanding. She was fun, knowledgeable and offered a perfect level of service - she truly made us feel welcomed and like valued customers. The food, ambiance, and service were all top-notch. I'm sure this doesn't come easy especially during the last Saturday of Restaurant Week. Nicely done Seasons 52!
I casually mentioned it was our 17th wedding anniversary when making the reservation that morning. To our surprise, the staff went out of their way to make our dinner experience very enjoyable from the time we arrived. Thanks for a great memory! We will definitely be return customers.
Seasons 52 was outstanding! The food was excellent, service was excellent. I felt very comfortable taking my time while eating my meal. Our server answered all of our questions (it was our 1st visit during Restaurant Week 2018). Now, a couple of notable comments. 1. We did notice some of the employees (possibly during a shift change, not sure) were very loud with their conversations. My husband and I were seated in the bar area on the side directly next to the main dining area. I did hear some conversation that I really didn't need to hear. 2. Pricing too high. Although the quality of food was very good, we both felt the pricing on menu items was overpriced and the bar cocktails were very overpriced.
Being a lifelong resident of KC and have eaten in the Plaza since 1976 I have see many restaurants come and go for many different reasons. Seasons 52 is a keeper, however the over pricing of menu items is keeping so many other people from such an amazing culinary experience. It's definitely something to consider as a business.
We showed up a little early for drinks before our reservation. Seating was limited at the bar, but we made it work. We walked up the the hostess stand at our reservation time and they sat us almost immediately. Once we sat, it was all down hill from there.
Our server did not come greet us or take drink order from us for a while. When she did get our drink we asked about the Restaurant Week Menu and she was reciting her little pitch about the menu. Three of the 5 people in our party took advantage of the Restaurant Week Menu. Drinks came, we ordered our food and waited... for a while. Then one of the 3 salads came out. Then she said the others were on the way. While I was finishing my salad, my husband's salad finally came, then our friend was still waiting on his. So long, that he was not even half way done before our entrees showed up. Food was so good, but then we didn't see her again until she brought our dessert that we ordered with the rest of our order. I feel like it was the servers first day working without a trainer. It was rough! I would for sure come back, though...
I've always loves Seasons 52 and our experience during restaurant week was no different. We had a reservation and we're seated promptly. Out waitress was very nice and accommodating. I wasn't expecting much with the craziness of this particular week but the food was above and beyond, possibly the best I've had. The options were versatile and very good and the entrees were full portions. My salmon was wonderful as always and my friend mentioned his steak was better than Stock Hill and other known steak houses in the area. Wonderful experience!
We visited this restaurant during Restaurant Week. We had been talking about coming and RW was a good reason. We were seated promptly at the time of our appointment. The area where we sat had some nicely designed partitions that made every few tables seem like their own little section but without also making the room feel small. It helped to keep down the noise, though most of the tables were filled. My wife ... who normally does not eat seafood dishes tried the salmon and loved it. I had the filet mignon and it was fantastic ... really tender and cooked exactly as I requested. We will be back to try more of the items from their menu.
Seasons 52 was very thoughtful and had a red rose and birthday card at the table for my mother upon arrival. Very nice touch! The waiter was fantastic and gave my mom excellent service. I was very impressed with our visit today. They never let me down! Each occasion is always memorable.
Decided to dine here during Restaurant week. My husband and I were seated immediately upon arrival-- we did make reservations. Our waitress, Simone, was kind and did a decent job. However, she kept moving her hair around with her hands to get it out of her way-- sorta bothered me with serving food. I think putting her hair up would not distract her as much.
Had to ask for straws for our drinks. Our pesto chicken flatbread was good, but she brought the salads out right after receiving that. Spacing these out some would have been nice. Had to ask for more information about the meals vs being told about the specials and what they come with. We did enjoy our meals-- filet mignon and scallops.
Then it was dessert time. Our waitress ended up getting more tables and customers and it seemed to overwhelm her. So it took her a while to get us dessert, and then our bill. Overall, it was a great atmosphere with good food-- we will be back! I only stated those downfalls to learn from, not to be negative....
There were six in our party for lunch and it took over one hour and a half to complete our meal. Our server, Andrew P, was not attentive and we had to ask for everything. One person refused to return her burger, which was undercooked, because she feared it would take too long to get another burger. Our server didn't return to ask if everything was cooked okay or we needed anything else. We also had to ask for the Dessert and our bill. We were seated next to the kitchen behind a curtain. There was a draft, so it was cold and servers kept coming through the curtain from the kitchen and next to our table with food for other tables. I have been there many times and have always had exceptional service. Maybe Andrew was having an off day or maybe he had too many tables to wait on, which is what seemed to happen because he was waiting on the bar area as well. Thank you.
Seasons 52 is our Restaurant Week staple. We enjoy their seasonal menu with their fresh ingredients. Their flatbread options are amazing and their desserts hit the sweet spot every time. I have also done Happy Hour at Seasons and it was very reasonably priced as well.
Food was pretty good. Service was so terrible it was actually funny. It was glaringly obvious that we, and restaurant week patrons in general, were an annoyance to our waiter James.
Please accept our most sincere apologies for being paying customers in your establishment James. It definitely won't happen again.
