Seasons 52 - Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
First time here and was severely underwhelmed. Husband got seabass that was over cooked and black rice was unappetizing. I had a filet which was only good part of my meal. My potatoes were over processed with zero seasoning. I could pick the whole side up with my fork, that’s how over whipped and starchy they were. My broccoli was steamed w zero seasoning as well. So my husband ate his seabass and I ate my filet and left everything else on plate. Waiter never came over to ask how food was and when he picked up plates didn’t even comment that either of us didn’t eat the sides. Husbands old fashioned was pretty terrible too. Def not worth the $100 bill by a long shot.
Always enjoy drinks and dinner here. Happy hour includes specialty cocktails and creative appetizers Love to try the new items on the seasonal menu. Great location and atmosphere. Service was exceptional and dessert in shot glasses is always fun and delicious!
Went for Valentine's Day. Dark wood, wine ambience but nothing authentic. I wanted the food to be as good as I anticipated but sadly fell just short. My medium cooked filet was pretty tough and my husbands Trout was really just OK. There wasn't anything exciting or overly pleasant except the Key Lime shooter dessert at the end. 2 glasses of red rounded out to $78 before top. Probably won't be back.
I had heard about this place for quite awhile. My friend was here from out of town on business. The service was ok- however her meal came and mine that came was not correct. So she had to wait while they brought me the mac n cheese(dry) and my single lobster tail. The 2 veggies were good. The server did comp one dessert. The best was the wine and pizza combo for $15 special. Maybe this isn’t how it always goes. My friend said her meal was average- scallops.
Food and service are always exceptional! This was a special occasion, my wife’s birthday. This was the first time that she wasn’t treated special. She’s celebrated her last 4 birthdays at this location so it was a bit disappointing to see that that practice had been discontinued. I’m sure we will eat here again; however, not for any special occasion!
This was my first trip to Seasons 52 and it will not be my last. From first stepping into the building, the impression was highly favorable from greeting to atmosphere to seating. Our server was highly professional - helpful and knowledgable with just the right amount of suggestions for first time visitors. The menu was varied and interesting and, based on the atmosphere, surprising for reasonable pricing. I expected everything to be more. Our food was really, really good. We almost cleaned our plates. My friend had the scallops and broccolini. I had the lobster flat bread and one of the most amazing warm beat and goat cheese salads. And the desserts are beautifully presented and a unique, small size allowing us to choose more than one! From start to finish, a lovely experience. I walked out thinking I'd found my new favorite KC restaurant.
Seasons 52 has become our "go to" place. Drinks are good and moderately price during Happy Hour. Wines by the glass are only $5.00. Small plates are also a bargain at $5.00 during Happy Hour which runs until 7:00PM. Servers are friendly and well trained. The ambiance is very comfortable with lots of wood. We go there for birthdays and anniversaries as well as date nights.
Excellent Service! Delicious Food! Great Time With Friends! What more could one want!
I have been before and I shall return, as will the friends that I was with.
Keep up the great work, for every individual did a wonderful job and thus made the whole
look "easy," and it is very difficult to make it look "easy!"
Food was excellent; table location not. Made a reservation for mother-in-law's birthday. Time was early: 5:30 due to theater tix. We were taken to the worst table in house: literally in front of kitchen door. Four servers standing waiting for food orders three feet away. Asked for another table (there were 11 empty tables for four within view). Given the second worst table: table in same location but other end of restaurant in doorway entering the dining room. I didn't want to be "that" customer and complain again, so we sat down. Hostess knew it was birthday celebration for 75+ year old parents. Would have appreciated a more intimate table, not in the bustle. All's well that end's well: salmon, filet mignon, and shrimp & grits were delicious.
We truly enjoy eating at Seasons52. This time however, we encountered an issue. I ordered the tuna entree and asked that it be cooked a little more done. When it arrived at the table, it was barely seared. I sent it back. A little while later it came back, more done and it took a bite which I had to remove from my mouth. I have never tasted tuna like that. It was not palatable. The manager removed the plate and asked me what I would like instead. I ordered the filet mignon instead and it was amazing, cooked to perfection. The server, Madeline, was very kind and understanding. We will definitely return to Seasons 52.
Server got our name wrong and kept repeating it like we would change our minds somehow. We were clearly baffled by her repeating the word "Quarrells?" over and over, but she never got it. Overall, service was perfunctory, falsely cheerful, and insincere. Someone (possibly our server, but more likely someone at the table of 10 women right behind us) was wearing the heaviest and most cloying perfume I had ever smelled. Put a damper on the eating experience. Food was disappointing. The heavy winter fare was just too rich and the vegetable sides were gloppy -- risotto, grits, stewed carrots, etc. Got the braised boneless ribs and kicked myself for not ordering fish or a salad. Wife got the scallops and enjoyed them. Shishito peppers we got as a starter were buried under a thick paste of cheese or something. Ruined the delicate flavor of the peppers. Wine was good. Not a great dining experience.
Seasons 52 came through again. My date and I both ordered the Australian braised lamb shank and it was excellent. The service was nice and smooth: just enough but not too much.
Thank you for setting the table with a rose for my love. The free desserts were a pleasant surprise. And, as always, they were luxurious, but small enough to make them guilt-free.
Our server Nicole was attentive and did a good job, but tonight the food itself was not up to the usual standards. While the filet was cooked to perfection, the salmon was totally raw. My request was to have the salmon cooked well, so to have it come out raw was just wrong.
To compound the issue they removed my salmon but left the veg, and I completely finished the roasted veg and waited several minutes more before my salmon was returned. The second time around some of the salmon was over cooked and the middle was still too under cooked for me to enjoy. All-in-all not a successful meal.
We're a frequent visitor to Season's 52, but I hate to say this trip was not up to their usual quality. We were their for Restaurant Week also and they were bang on. Great food and great service.
Everybody has an off night, but when the service and the meal misfired on the same night that was unexpected.
We'll come back, but it may be a while.
An unusually disappointing experience this time! The greeters seemed disorganized, and didn't even ask us to follow when she went to find our table. Our server was very pleasant, but seemed to lack experience or we overwhelmed her (there were only 4 of us!). I was also somewhat surprised they leaned across me and other dining companions to serve some of the dishes - we weren't in a booth so it was a little awkward unprofessional.
I will continue to be a regular at Seasons 52, in spite of this 'off' evening.
I had never eaten at Seasons 52 but tried it on the last day of Restaurant Week. I will definitely be taking my family there. The whole experience was exceptional. This will be somewhere I definitely recommend. Everything we had was delicious and our server, Becca, was a delight.
