Seasons 52 - Costa Mesa Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating our 44th anniversary.. Our daughter recommended this restaurant. Our daughter dropped off flowers, balloons & cards at the restaurant earlier that day. When they brought us to the table the flowers/balloons were at the table. Michelle, our waitress was outstanding. She gave us excellent service, made great recommendations, & gave us a fantastic champagne toast. We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dinner from the autumn menu. We will highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends. We are already planning our next visit to your restaurant. Please let Michelle know how much we appreciated her awesome service!
We were seated at a nice booth in the corner with a very helpful server.
I've been to Seasons 52 many times. I love their stuffed mushrooms and salmon.
This time I ordered some appetizers in stead of the salmon. The shrimp scampi off the
appetizer menu was not what we expected. The sauce was a little much. The gluten free
pepperoni flatbread wasn't what we thought, either. It had way too many tomatoes.
Thank goodness the stuffed mushrooms were still delicious.
Our waitress was nice. Service was on the slow side. They don't include a bread basket. The food was great. We had the porcini mushroom soup and cedar plank salmon. My complaint is that I was celebrating my birthday and they did nothing! I was disappointed.
We arrived at 7:08 for at 7:15 dinner reservation. We were greeted as we walked in. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and told it would be just a few minutes. Great, no problem! At about 7:18 a couple walked in , I don't know if they had been waiting and just called or if they just checked in for their reservation. Either case, they were seated before us. I approached the hosted to check on our reservation and was told we were next ( she wasn't polite about it.).
We are seated in the center of the dinning room. It is LOUD! Out server was polite and attentive. The have a Harvest special going on right now. We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer and two dinner specials.
He ordered short ribs. He said they were good. I ordered the filet mignon, medium well. Well....., it came out looking like it could walk. I asked the server to send it back. It came back a little better, but crawling still. At this point, I had lost my appetite and just wanted to finish dinner and go. The server was apologetic and the sous chef came and delivered the recooked steak personally.
For the price of $29 to get a 3 course meal was a great value! However, regardless of cost you should still be able to enjoy your meal as ordered. Luckily, it will not go to waste, it will be reheated for lunch tomorrow.
I wish I could post pictures here. I have a picture of my filet the second time it was brought out.
I have eaten at Seasons 52 several times. I have always been happy with the service and food , but this time I was somewhat dissatisfied. I felt that the service by our waitress was just ok. She did not seem very friendly, and almost made us feel like we were inconveniencing her when we asked for things. We were also celebrating a birthday, but the desert that was brought out was a dessert glass full of raw sugar with a candle in it. We did order other desserts. Just thought you should know. Thanks.
We were looking for a restaurant that would be our regular go-to now that we are season ticket holders at Segerstrom. First of all, this is too far from the theater to walk. I would rather park at the theater then go somewhere within walking distance. This is located within the South Coast Plaza Mall structure. Second, it is too crowded. Even with valet parking, we waited a good 10 minutes for our car. And it was just uncomfortable trying to get around inside the restaurant. The pricing was for an intimate fullservice restaurant but the crowd felt more like Disneyland having to squeeze by in order to get from the hostess station to our table. Third, service was horrible. Our waitress messed up our order so bad that one of our meals was comped from the bill. Our water was never refilled even once. And she even got our dessert order wrong. The food was mediocre at best, especially given the price.
We were celebrating a birthday. The waitress started off with energy and laughter but she was not very attentive throughout the meal. I do not know if it was because she had too many tables. We asked for more champagne and it took some time to arrive, despite a reminder as she passed us on her way to another table. The sea bass was not as tender as on previous occasions. The black rice was dry. The vegetable on the plate was not the one on the menu. So this meal was significantly less than our previous visits. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating was happy and did not notice the missteps.
I generally give Seasons 52 high marks for service, food, and ambiance. Unfortunately, my latest experience there did not live up to expectations or previous experiences.
I ordered from the $29 harvest menu. My cedar plank salmon was perfect! However the accompanying roasted veggies were cold. They were obviously raised in advance, which I get, but were not heated before serving. In contrast, the salmon was piping hot! I would have sent the veggies back, but we were on a tight schedule.
The ladies bathroom was a disaster. No toilet paper or seat covers in at least one stall. Paper towels overflowing the trash.
Finally, the piano bat music was way too loud, making conversation difficult.
I hope the restaurant is not on a slow slide downhill.
I go to Seasons 52 in Costa Mesa on a fairly regular basis. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. We were pleased to have our last server, Jenelle, again. She's excellent at keeping an eye on our table and fun to have as part of our dining experience.
We LOVED everything! Had a birthday dinner reservation for 7 PM, got there at 6:30, in time for the outstanding happy hour, so sat outside (less loud and a beautiful evening!) and ordered many happy hour tapas for dinner! Everything was wonderful! Especially the Cakebread Chardonnay!! Thank you all for the lovely b-day card too! :)
We eat there at least once or twice a month. Food is innovative and good tasting. Chef goes the extra mile to accommodate special requests. The only problem I find is that it is a little noisy; especially if we are seated near the bar area or near large parties. But we still like it.
I’ve alwAys enjoyed dining here because of the outstanding service, delicious food, and excellent cocktails. I always order the salmon plank, complete with fresh veggies, and paired with a very lovely dipping sauce. Our server was very kind, and very efficient. Since it was my birthday I was offered all kinds of dessert options. I will always return to dine here, and always reccomend to my friends.
