Seasons 52 - Costa Mesa

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server, Bo, was excellent. He recommended several things and was very helpful. The service was prompt, the food was delicious. We shared a lobster flatbread and a crab cake. The flatbread had just enough lobster on it and the crab cake was filled with crabmeat as opposed to breading. Both were excellent. My friend had the summer corn soup and I had lobster bisque. Both were fabulous! For my friend’s birthday, they brought a tier of dessert choices with a candle on top. Very clever. Great experience all around!!
We used to love this restaurant, but on our last three visits we have experienced very poor service. Timing is off, server goes AWOL for long periods of time while other servers were trying to cover, etc. Prices on both food and drinks have increased to where the value is no longer evident. Sadly we will be taking Seasons 52 off our go-to list.
Seated right away in nice outdoor seating. Waiter was friendly and provided excellent service. Food was over cooked and we did not accept his or the managers gracious offer to send back to kitchen. Was still tender enough to enjoy - however not worth the price - if going to spend $30 for an entree it should be done right - can get same for less in other restaurants.
Usually a good place may have just been a bad night in the kitchen.
Desserts as always were fantastic.
Pre theatre dining. Also celebrating a birthday and engagement.
The recipes have changed up a little, and they are even better than before. The avocado toast was heaping with avocado and dressed out with ripe cherry tomatoes and caramelized onions with just enough balsamic vinegar to make an accent. The toast foundation was wonderful bread only lightly toasted. We almost stopped there and started ordering multiples of avocado toast! But then we would have missed the spectacular pork tenderloins and the caramelized scallops! Even the least expensive cab by the glass was smooth and rich. The word must be out. The place was packed. Best make a reservation.
Great pianist in the bar. Nice playlist.
Always great food...but service by Junior was outstanding!!
Great experience. Food was delicious. Server was friendly and attentive. She was aware we had theater tickets and made sure we were served in s timely manner.
Perfect place for dinner before the theater. Our server immediately asked if we had theater tickets and remained cognizant of our time constraints. We weren't rushed, but were attentively served and the food was excellent. Can't figure out h9ow they get so much flavor into so few calories!
Wonderful restaurant to eat at especially before a show at Segerstrom. The food is fresh and fabulous. The atmosphere is simple but elegant. Martin, our server, was AWESOME. The employees sample the dishes so they are very helpful in deciding on which dish to order. HIGHLY recommend.
what a delight to find a Seasons 52 in Costa Mesa. I ate at the Ft. Lauderdale location last April and
fell in love with the food, ambiance and service. I wanted to purchase a gift card for my hostess as a
Mother's Day gift, but alas, I was told I could only purchase in person.
I ended up purchasing a VISA card and sent it with a note saying to was to be used at Seasons 52 as a
thank you gift for my wonderful Florida vacation.
You can imagine my surprise when I pulled into the driveway of South Coast Plaza one day and saw
Seasons 52. I always enter the shopping mall from the other direction.
I am now a regular at your lovely restaurant.
Enjoy the fabulous food, knowledgeable staff and excellent service. The ambiance is delightful as well as the lovely piano playing in the bar.
Enjoyed the Copper River wild salmon on my last visit.
Food was delicious, portions were perfect! Service 👍👍
The food was so good!
It really would get all 5 star reviews if it wasn't so darn noisy. They have live music in the bar, but IT'S TOO LOUD. When we go out to dinner, we like to speak to each other, not have to SHOUT.
I ordered scallops which were GREAT. The risotto with it was pretty bad, though. Runny and mushy.
Salmon under cooked. I still like the menu options.
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! We loved it. Terrific service. Made us feel very special. Started off our evening at Seasons 52 before heading off the Phantom of the Opera, celebrating our 26th anniversary. We started off with wine and the Roasted Tomato Flatbread. My husband had the Maui Tuna Crunch Salad; another friend had the Cedar Planked Roasted Salmon, my other friend had the Seared Scallops, but with the mashed sweet potatoes, and I had them with the goat cheese risotto. To finish off they brought us an array of double shot glass desserts to choose from. Everything was again excellent. Ambiance also great with wonderful live musician who played piano. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our evening. Thank you!
Had a nice meal with wine; service was good although it was a quiet time.
Consistent great service and fresh delicious food. Our server Daunya was attentive and very pleasant.
Great spot for celebrations or everyday dining.
Great food, wonderful attentive service and fair prices!
Lots of energy but pretty loud so if you have a hearing issue to warned.
Bo and his teammates gave us an excellent service. Great job Bo
Love this place and the live music!! Great crowd! The food was healthy and delicious!
Food and service always good! Love the Summer menu, especially the corn soup.
The fish had a heavy fishy smell this time. Usually the salmon is great.
Waitress said they got rid of the shishito peppers just because there were complaints that they were too spicy. So, you thought that it was better that no one got to enjoy them rather than a few people not ordering them??? What the heck are you guys thinking. BTW, this is the second server that has told us this story.
Great vegetarian / vegan options in addition to the regular menu
Such a wonderful early birthday dinner with a dear friend! We had reservations since this restaurant can get quite busy. On arrival, we were greeted and promptly seated at our requested patio table. The ambience allowed us to enjoy the beautiful California summer evening while the mild noise level allowed for some good conversation and catching up between friends. Our server Michael was exceptional as were his recommendations! I had the Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon with Roasted mushrooms and green beans, Yukon mash, red wine sauce (6 oz 440 cal) while my friend enjoyed the Cedar Plank-Roasted Salmon with roasted vegetables, Golden potatoes, dill-mustard sauce, grilled lemon. (460 cal). We each enjoyed our entrees which were full of flavor and cooked to perfection! We indulged in the mini dessert cups that were bursting with sweet goodness. I chose the mocha macchiato on suggestion from our waiter and my friend chose the s’mores; we were not disappointed! It was a delicious meal and great overall experience, definitely coming back again!!
Excellent food and wonderful service but.....
The piano player/singer was so loud we could not hold a conversation with our friends. We asked our server to ask him to lower the volume and he did and it was much better. Then he went on break and sure enough when he came back he cranked it up again. That’s when we left with ears ringing. Management should have been cognizant of this problem. I will never go back to this location again.
Went for happy hour only. Great mushroom flat bread decent wine on the happy hour list. Lamb was tasty.
Everything was excellent as usual. Manager John greeted us and the service was excellent. Food was wonderful.
Had a very nice date with my wife, our server Jennifer was great, she gave us a couple of very good recommendations for our meal and was very attentive. Food was great.
The food quality was poor-I feel like quality has been compromised to save money
The live piano and singer was outstanding.
It set a wonderful mood for our family dinner.
Justin, our server, was attentive and provided excellent service for us.
Always a pleasure
Lydia was a wonderful server. Very knowledgeable, attentive to detail, and professional with a bounty of warmth!
When my husband forgot to submit our gift card when paying the bill, Lydia kindly re-rang the credit card along with the gift card, refunding the first charge to our credit card.
Food, service and ambience is always excellent. Would highly recommend it. I had a seasonal ahi tuna salad and their corn soup. Very tasty.
Overall we had a great time. We sat in the patio, enjoyed drinks and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu.
Well, I see that Darden has destroyed another restaurant. Service by Emily was great. Everything else sucked. For years this was our go to restaurant all the way from Rancho Cucamonga. They have taken all of the good stuff off the menu. Raised the prices and really lowered the quality. Could not find anything I liked left on the menu so I ordered the Fish Tacos. Never again
Was such a total disappointment. Time to move on
