Seasons 52 - Burlington Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Seasons 52 many times over the last 4 years. It is usually very good and the service is decent to superb - varies from time to time . Last evening I sat at the bar while waiting for a friend. The bartender provided excellent service and was extremely professional. We later were seated at a booth in the bar area. This is where the service hit a new low. Our waitress was not only inattentive and rude but she failed to mention that they were out of scallops. With three dishes on the menu that include scallops, one would expect that a professional waiter would mention this when we sat down at the table. In addition, she never checked back with us when we did get our food to see if we needed anything , I needed to ask other waiters to get her when we needed her. I'm a great tipper usually, 20-25%. I cannot remember the last time I did not tip at a restaurant. The poor quality low level service of this particular waitress was unnerving - and it was a birthday celebration - I did not leave her a tip. A new low for sure. Seasons 52, your food and ambiance is usually upscale, the service should be consistent with both.
Spent New Year's Eve here with three other couples. The restaurant must have contacted me four times confirming our reservation. When we arrived, we only had a 15-minute wait. Got to our table and we were short two chairs. They brought over one more but then it took another 5 minutes, after three requests to staff members, to get that 8th chair. Our server, Thomas, was wonderful, helpful, and attentive. As it happened, the kitchen was already out of two of the main meals ordered (we had a 7 pm reservation), so Thomas kindly offered us each a mini dessert and then gave each of us a $25.00 gift card. I couldn't tell if all diners got the dessert and gift card as a New Year's Eve present or if only our table did to compensate for the missing entrees. The drinks were refreshing and everyone reportedly enjoyed their meals. My only "complaint" was that everything I ordered (and most of the menu) had either garlic or onion in it and I can eat neither. I assume that the chef was unable to make some changes due to the fact that it was New Year's Eve. We will come back; however, I will call and request some changes to my food order, in advance.
The food here is consistently good. Fresh ingredients coupled with seasonal selections is always are winning combination. On this occasion, however, service was disappointing. I have been here before and service was much better so I will chalk it up to a poorly trained waiter; just hope they are not losing their touch.
First time here, was not aware this was a chain. Atmosphere was nice, busy but layout keeps acoustics well managed. Some confusion at front hostess stand kept 4 parties waiting to be seated including us. Mediterranean hummus appetizer was good but hummus itself was bland. Had the handline tuna with black rice which was good. Service was not good. Not attentive and not professional. Did not tell us his name, did not notice our empty glasses and was not easily found to get refills. Staff seem more aligned with a sports bar atmosphere in the way they interact with guests and discuss staffing drama out loud. This is faux fine dining.
After hearing great things about the restaurant, we were anticipating a great meal. Being adventurous foodies, we we’re somewhat disappointed by the taste and quality of the food. They were out of the wine that we chose, despite an amply stocked wine cellar. Service was great! The little dessert tray choices were delicious! Price vs quality of the meal? I would pass this one by. Nothing to write home about. We probably will not choose to eat there again. We liked the quiet ambiance of the wood interior that was warm and welcoming.
This was my second experience dining at Seasons 52 and both times were well worth my drive from the South Shore. Staff was welcoming and pleasant, waitress was wonderful, food fantastic(there were 6 of us and everyone was extremely pleased), ambiance was very pleasant (a bit noisy, but it is holiday time). Overall terrific experience. Looking forward to returning soon.
We go to Seasons 52 every time we want to meet our friends from Maine. We live on the South Shore so it is almost equidistant for each couple. The food is always good and the choices are endless. Each item has the calories listed next to it so you can eat as much or as little as you like. The desserts are in small glasses so it is easy to order and eat. This time we tried the decaf cappuccino and it was delicious. It is conveniently located and in an outdoor mall so you can shop before or after you eat.
