Seasons 52 - Altamonte Springs Ratings and Reviews
We wanted to find a "brunch" where we have the norm (brunch buffet) and was disappointed that it was a "limited" menu and what my nieces called "eclectic food so it was disappointing. The overall ambiance, restaurant and server was great, the food for our group wasn't what we thought and wouldn't come back for brunch but would try for dinner
We have been coming here since it opened. Each year there seems to be a continuous drop in quality, service and finally now food. What a shame. This used to be a top spot.
The bad experience started in the bar. We ordered two glasses of wine while we waited for our table. We were never asked which specific one we wanted, so I assumed they served what had been the top brand. Nope, the young man behind the bar served the bottom brand. Since when are bar staff trained to serve bottom brand and not upsell or at a bare minimum, ask which if there are more than one available?
Over the years we have noticed more and more turn over in staff. Hardly ever see the same people, not even management.
The food has also taken the worst drop. Most people will think it's great food, we know better. It used to be great, now it's mediocre at best. It appears that Season's 52 has decided to start using pre-packaged food for several things. There was a piece of packaging paper on my salad which I spotted. After the third bite though, I did not spot another piece that ended up in my mouth. In addition, both my wife and I ended up have GI problems, which was clearly from the food or the preparation. We noted that not a single person in the kitchen or on the line used gloves, among other things.
The manager made his way over and did the obligatory "we're sorry" and laid down a $52 discont card. First off, we don't want a discount, didn't even want them to take the food I had off of the bill. We just wanted to have a nice evening with good food and good service. Odd that a restaurant has pre-printed discount cards.
We can go to any other Dardin restaurant and not have a problem, here it seems we have a problem every time. Why a problem (in any area) in a restaurant that is supposed to be higher end and certainly charges a premium.
-From two people who have been with this place since the beginning: Dardin needs to get their house in order.
First let me say your food has always been outstanding. Your scallops were exceptional as was the trout and of course the fresh veggies. We spent a good deal of money and the food was well worth it. Here is the bad review. Our server was the worst. We ordered drinks and they took an extremely long time. Our server never smiled and frankly seemed like she couldn’t care less. She was not at all attentive and frankly if your food wasn’t as good as it is I would never come back. We asked during dinner for bread and she again had this rudeness about her and said we don’t serve bread and there is a charge which was fine. During the meal my company tried to get her because they wanted some butter for scallops and it came cold. When it was time for dessert she basically grabbed a few selections and went through them very fast. Again disinterested. She brought 2 of the same kinds and not the variety I am used to. When she came with the check she basically dumped it on the table. We had family from out of town and they even commented on the service which embarrassed me because I raved about seasons.
Everything from the greeting at the front door to the greeting when we were leaving was excellent. Our waitress was polite, knowledgeable, and poised. You can tell she takes pride in where she works. My hubby and I both ordered the New York strip with vegetables. It was amazing; very well seasoned. The shrimp skillet was wonderful as well, it just wasn’t enough food for the price. Overall great experience. I’d go back a hundred times!
Valentine’s Day at Seasons 52 was awesome. The wine selection is unique, the food was great and Dakota took great care of us!
My fiancé had a filet and I had a NY Strip, both of which were cooked perfectly. The spinach and Brussel sprout app was great also.
Overall a great experience!
The restaurant is beautiful, inside and out. There were quite a few options of yummy entrees which made it a little harder to chose from. The one thing that was a little irritating was that our waiter seemed to get annoyed with my husband when he would ask how certain items were cooked. Our waiter actually said, "I don't know. I don't make the food, I just eat it." That didn't please us too much but other than that everything else was really good!
Hubby and I went for a pre-Valentine’s dinner date. It’s a wonderful restaurant with a great menu. The service, from the hostesses to our servers, was great. All were very personable. We will definitely be going back! Oh, and the cauliflower starter is a must!
We were there celebrating a birthday and our guests were greeted with a nice card acknowledging his birthday. Our food was excellent except that the guest of honor ordered a filet medium rare and it came to the table well done. He isn’t the type to complain, however, the server Cake to the table and asked how everything was and she noticed that it was grossly over cooked. She offered to exchange it, however since he is non confrontational he refused. She handled the situation expertly and took it off the Check and truly tried to correct it. We are frequent diners at Seasons and never have a bad experience. I would have rated the food a 5, if it weren’t for the steak!
Our waiter was not attentive. We were frequently out of water. He did not check on us for our needs, just the basics (apps, order, dessert, check). We waited much longer than we would have liked to place our food order and to place our dessert order. Then took him at least 10 min to pick up our checks after delivery of the bill. Very frustrating. Other than the service, the food was very good!!
