Seasalt - Del Mar

We ate at sunset and it was terrific! Everything good.
I have been to Seasalt several times previously and the service and ambiance on those occasions were very good. However, on this visit the service was extremely slow, and the wait staff did not seem confident. The noise level was high enough to make ordinary conversation difficult. The food was still excellent. Perhaps there were many new hires that night, but the overall experience was poor. I hope to return at another time and find the previous levels of service have resumed.
Fabulous location but they dont rest on that. The food was also delicious and nicely presented. Service was prompt and gracious.
Made a reservation, arrived 15 minutes early, was asked to wait in the bar while our special table was prepared. An hour and a half later, the “host” saw us in the bar, clearly he forgot us, and then said it would be another 10-15 minutes for our special table. The only response from the restaurant when I posted my FB pictures and story was that they “don’t have a host “. I suppose no reservation is needed with no host...not a great way to spend a birthday dinner :(
My wife and I had a wonderful meal. One couldn't ask for more. Great service, food, and a window seat as the sun sets. We each had the specials for the day, sea bass and Alaskan halibut. Very delicious. I'm excited for the next time we go!
There were 6 ladies celebrating a birthday. Most of us had different orders & enjoyed them. The artichoke appetizer was delicious.and the chocolate mousse complimentary dessert was outstanding. The only negative was hard bread when it was requested by two ladies.
We enjoyed it very much and are planning on coming with spouses later.
One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood - friendly service and good food :)
Our favorite brunch place- great food and service and a serene view!
Very noisy, impossible to have a conversation. Asked to be seated where we could talk, told all tables were reserved ( I had a reservation) meanwhile there was a table on patio empty the entire time we dined, two hours.
Food was fair, had crab ravioli, came out tepid and dough a bit chewy.. the spicy tuna roll was good.
Wonderful place to dine with friends from Orange County.
The staff are extremely personable and the food is delicious for a reasonable price. The owner was quite charming. The decour is excellent and has an understated sense of elegance. We will definitely go back.
Excellent food, and great spot for our large party of old friends. Bar staff was top notch.
Good food. Great view.
Food was really good, better than expected!
Patio was pretty bright and not an ideal setting for Valentine's Day. Dimming the lights and adding a little more ambiance would have been good. Ceviche was amazing!
The food was absolutely amazing. We got the calamari, Alaskan king salmon, swordfish, cheesecake and limoncello. Everything was fantastic! The waiter was attentive and the manager even brought me a rose (it was Valentine's Day). It was expensive, but the serving size was perfect and the taste made it well worth it. We sat on the patio and I imagine the view was beautiful, but we went at night and you couldn't see much. I'll definitely come back again next time I have a special occasion.
The service was awful. The food was cold and tasteless. Simple things like dirty spoons delivered with the soup. Coffee cups never refilled. Wrong menus delivered. Haphazard food delivery— one guest got his much later than the others and it was cold, too.
Quality food, good service, and great taste. Prices are fairly steep but it's a good place to go for a special meal.
Poor service. Average food. Expensive price.
Good food, good service!
Second time eating here. Last time I ordered the swordfish and it was ok but not great. Ordered the Niçoise salad on second visit and it was good but not enough for even a small lunch. Maybe they should put it on the appetizer menu? Or maybe increase the portion size since it is an $18 menu item. Oh, also, still being quite hungry I asked for bread but they don’t serve bread at lunch. Hmmm... and if you go with a group you should know they won’t split the check more than 3 ways.
Our experience was wonderful, 50% thanks to the sushi chef and 50% thanks to our server who seemed to be a mind reader with regard to what we needed.
Could not call to make reservation.
The food was good, and the location is like that of a neighborhood gem. There were several families eating here so it gives you the neighborhood dining experience, not where I'd go for date night.
I won't go into all of the details; however, when I talked to the manager about our situation, he was very apologetic and gave us two free meals the next time we dine w/ them. Not sure if that will happen, as I didn't care for my food. Sorry...
This was our first time to SeaSalt...what a fantastic meal!! Started our meal with the Calamari appetizer, totally enjoyed the warm marina sauce it was served with, for dinner we shared thread amazing dishes so that we could try a little of all: crab ravioli with lobster sauce, shrimp with vegetable risotto & the salmon in vodka...all sooo worth trying!!
Food was salty, especially the pulled pork. Servers wouldn't make vegetable substitutions at all. Wait staff seemed overwhelmed during Restaurant Week Thursday night #1. Hostess was snippy. Wine selection was good. My guests said they go here often so perhaps the standards weren't quite up to par because of Restaurant Week.
Our dinner at Seasalt - DelMar was excellent. The service was prompt and attentive and the recommendations of the wait staff were accurate and much appreciated. The food was delicious and presentation also delightful.
You can"t bet the food , service , view. SeaSalt does it all so well. Never had a bad meal here.
Broad menu with lots to choose from. Good fish selection.
A great meal served by an outstanding staff and the manager was excellent in taking care of our needs.
We took an early dinner for New Year's Eve. Our reservation was for 4:30, got there early and was seated. We had calamari as our appetizer--large portions with two sauces, white wine for me, and IPA for my husband. I chose the crab ravioli for my entree and he had the dinner special--mahi-mahi. My ravioli were large, full of crab and the sauce was very nice. I asked for bread to wipe my plate clean. My husband's mahi-mahi was beautiful to look at and was delicious to boot. Our server was around and not around--not a hoverer, but aware of us to take care of us. A nice way to end the year.
We love the lagoon and the environment--we used to work in the area--so it was an extra for us to see it, on rainy cool day. It wasn't crowded, probably because it was early, but it was nice not to have to yell at each other during dinner.
Sea Salt was a recommendation from a foodie friend, and I was very happy with that choice.
Brunch menu limited but good food overall - best server ever
New waitress....she didn't mention specials. Food was excellent.
Food was salty, but maybe that is to reflect the name of the restaurant.
Enjoyed the coconut shrimp and the spaghetti with clams!
The menu sounded and looked great, but there were some issues that ruined our experience. For example, the lettuce stem was served in the salads, we asked for the clams with linguini to be cooked with no butter, but it was cooked with butter and we had to send it back and wait for them to cook another one. The creme brulee wasn't finished (by browned on top and no fruit was added). So we had to send that back too. They didn't bring us bread. When we got there, we had to wait in the lobby cuz no host was there. We had to ask for menus after sitting at the table for 5-10 minutes. We will not be returning.
Recommend Salmon Vodka, Fish & Chips and Steak Frites. Will try Fresh/Healthy Grill next time. Request a different side than the fingerling potatoes. Sautéed spinach is flavorful.
food was great! staff very accommodating to allergy needs and very helpful with making selections.
they have monthly wine dinners which we hope to try soon.
We had a large group (13) and placed in a private room which is perfect when you have little ones! Menu had plenty of variety for everyone! It was a perfect dinner!
