This was our 4th trip to Sea Salt and we have yet to be disappointed. Their fresh fish is outstanding and the clams casino is also excellent. We love sitting on their patio and enjoying the view of the tidal basin and the coaster going by.

Crab cake and artichoke appetizers were tasty. The restaurant really lost its appeal when the entrees came out. Honey roasted salmon was bland, shrimp fra Diablo was unmemorable. The lobster special was an entire Maine lobster served over fettuccine. The lobster was covered in a spicy tomato sauce, making it almost impossible to open it with nutcrackers without getting your hands immersed in the sauce. it should have been taken out of the shell or at the very least, cut into pieces and split open so you could take the meat out with a fork. Eating it was a disaster! Overall, a disappointing meal.

Been coming to SeaSalt for a couple of years. Our favorite is to go for a beach walk at Torrey Pines and adjourn to the outdoor patio for dinner. Being vegetarian, there are some options that work well, and the chef is happy to modify to make dishes vegetarian.
Don't miss the artichoke starter, it is divine. This meal we had that, the veggie egg roll, vegetarian ravioli, and a salad, that I had potatoes / avocado added instead of tuna. Delish!

Please ignore the ratings but I wasn't allowed to submit comments without putting something in the ratings.

We were never seated.

They had a big party and we kept being told "we will be with you in a few minutes."

We left the restaurant after 15 minutes.

We felt ignored.

We had an 8pm reservation... didn’t get seated for 25 minutes...once we were seated nobody spoke to us for 30 minutes... another 15 minutes went by before we got bread and/or offered an opportunity to order drinks.... fortunately we got free appetizers when we asked to speak to the manager... but still had to go to the bar to order all of our drinks....

The restaurant location is lovely and service was vey attentive, but food was not good. My shrimp poblano omelette had almost no flavor. My daughter had the Spanish croissant, but the chorizo had a very odd, gamey taste and the sandwich was soggy. She couldn't eat it. The bottomless mimosas were reasonably priced and server kept our glasses full.

Sat in the bar and it was a bit warm. The music was a bit loud too for conversation.
Good food, and a really nice server Greg. Had salmon dinner, and a salad with salmon. Both good, not great.
A very nice evening.

The brunch menu was promising, but the reality was truly awful. Eggs benedict were served on untoasted English muffins with a thin slice of a very salty and not un-bologna tasting piece of meat. The poached eggs were unremarkable, and the hollandaise was watery. A shrimp jalapeno omelet was bland and unappealing, accompanied by slices of toast that came out a commercially packaged loaf. Blueberry pancakes were a bit on the tough side. Service was almost non-existent. Overall, pass on this one, folks.

Great place to eat. Food is wonderful. It’s a great location. They have a beautiful bar but no full bar service. They have HAN liquors which means it’s not real liquor. Please upgrade you liquor license then it will be perfect.

Not impressed with the service -- slow, sloppy and lazy best describes our server and the bus person. They all but disappeared and we had to hunt them down twice - once for silverware and a second time for the check. Food was uninspired and lacking flavor. Over all a mediocre lunch that was overpriced

The artichoke appetizer is great. Wedge salad is very different and very good. Our entrees were both below average. Our waiter never came back to see if our food was okay. We had to get to a concert so we ate fish that did not taste right. I would not go back. The appetizers although good are not worth a return visit.

I go there because I love trupical salad and healthy grill dinner
This time the arugula in the salad was like chewy vines and it was stringy lettuce. Very bad
Good thing I know it is usually better quality arugula
I super loved the healthy grill
Perfect

We sat on the enclosed patio. Very loud made worse by extremely loud 2 or 3 young children. We sat at a table next to them and the four of us asked to be moved. Didn’t help much and I was surprised everyone in the room didn’t stand up and clap when they finally left. New waiter had the fake Italian accent. I felt rushed the entire evening! The server several times put food on my place setting that wasn’t mine including salad dressing for another table. He tried to put 2 entrees at the table next us that weren’t theirs. Everything was so rushed. Won’t go back.

All was very Good. We went to dinner early and I think got the owner or mgr as our waiter. He told us which fish on the menu were very fresh and he was right. Swordfish and Salmon were excellent.

Only complaint and it is one I have with most even fine dining restaurants, is the Waiter should write down your order in such a way that when the food is delivered they are not playing Russian Roulette with the plates trying to figure out who ordered what. Happens all the time even when there is only 2 of us. It is not very professional in opinion.

The service was excellent from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. This was the second time I’ve been there and each time was a good experience. The waiter was very pleasant and his recommendations were right to our taste expectations. He even observed we were celebrating a special event even though I didn’t indicate so on my reservations.

My family visited La Jolla to see my little sister for our birthdays. I wanted to dine at a restaurant with a view, not having been to Del Mar, I chose Seasalt based on the gleaming reviews. I reserved a 6:30pm table for 5 people (3 adults, an infant, and a toddler) and requested a table with a view, a high chair and a kid’s menu a few hours prior to coming - all with ease. We were greeted right away and seated in minutes. Our server, Jeff B., was attentive and anticipated what we needed; he was proactive and patient, he listened well, he was knowledgeable, charismatic, and professional. Without us asking, he was intuitive enough to know we’d want our toddler’s pasta out ASAP, he got our drink orders right away, our appetizer (artichoke) came out on time and was awesome. Our entrees were delicious! Again, without me asking what the fresh catch was with my entree, he didn’t forget to tell me it was swordfish. The only hiccup was instead of the swordfish, my plate came out with salmon - the scallops and shrimp were perfect. He acknowledged that what came out was a mistake on their part and was very apologetic. They gave me swordfish minutes later. It was really good. The view was beautiful, set against the ocean and the sun setting. Bonus for our toddler were the trains passing by (he’s intrigued by them!) Then Jeff brought out the dessert we chose for our birthday, the Tiramisu made in-house, birthday candle and all, and it was delectable! I can’t stress enough how our service was nearly flawless and so appreciated. Jeff is a superb server. I used to be one in earlier years of college so I have respect for servers who go above and beyond to provide good, unbridled service to patrons. I’m certain he is consistent, takes pride in his work, and provides the same quality service to other customers. Thanks so much for making our first time at Seasalt Del Mar pleasant and memorable - we definitely plan on coming back.
