About
Maddy, my server, was an absolute pleasure to interact with! She knew her job and the menu well and was efficient and friendly. The skillets that they serve were flavorful and well portioned! I look forward to returning and trying other items on this tasty menu!
We were the only table in there on a Saturday night at 7pm. That scared us, but the food ended up being great!!
Corn and crab soup delicious. Nice entrees. Upscale modern decor.
staff is great, attentive but the the food is terrible!
SeaSalt was just what we needed for a romantic Anniversary dinner. The menu was varied and different. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Luthor was our waiter and he was helpful with our meal decisions and checking on us. Lovely décor and great location. Not to far from town.
The table behind us had inquired why they couldn't reserve a table outside prior. The manager had told them she would have MADE them sit at the bar for at least 10 mins, then proceed to rudely ask the lady if she had ever worked in the restaurant industry before. As someone who has worked in the dining service industry for a decade I felt compelled to turn and make the manager aware that she was speaking in an extremely rude way and that's not how you speak to customers. The guest behind me handle the situation with grace, as the service from the waitress and manager left little to be desired. Food was great though! Too bad for the poor customer service.
We have been to Sea Salt multiple times because we have loved the food, service and ambiance. However, the menu that was listed for our date was not the menu that was available to us. We came for some of our favorites and couldn't get them. We were staying at The Ocean Club Hotel and the menus that were posted IN THE HOTEL were not accurate. The server explained that because it was after Labor Day they had a "limited menu." Fine, but then inform the guests and patrons of that detail. We even purchased a bottle of wine (not cheap) before we were told about the menu. We were willing to try something new so we ordered the octopus salad. When it came, it didn't look appealing and had very little flavor. We left and got a burger. Hopefully, next time we come, which we will, the issue will be resolved.
We picked Sea Salt due to it’s convenient location to our accommodations and favorable reviews. We were not disappointed. Great location on Beach Ave across from the beach. Windows open wide giving us a lovely dining experience. Scallops were prepared perfectly. Roasted cauliflower side wad good as well. We also had a seafood pasta entree, filled with seafood. Very tasty. Oysters were good also.
The scallops were an amazing value. Five huge sea scallops with cauliflower puree, tomatoes, and a balsamic reduction. Absolutely amazing. The crab and corn chowder was also one of the best soups I have ever had.
Our favorite restaurant in Cape May. Ingredients are fresh, the fish is not overcooked as so often happens in the classic Cape May places. Sitting outside in pleasant weather across from the beach is the perfect ending to a Cape May day.
We tried this restaurant shortly after it opened and were disappointed. This year we had a terrific meal on our first visit and started bringing our friends for dinners. Our second visit was fine, but our most recent visit was terrible! Our waitress was very inattentive. Worse, our guests had dietary restrictions and requested substitutions with other similar items on the menu and were refused! For a restaurant charging higher end prices this is inexcusable. Also, my husband ordered the crab cakes, which were delicious, but were accompanied by a huge portion of unappealing spinach. For a $38 plate, you’d think they could offer a more appealing side. We will not be returning.
Great service and good seafood.
Exceptional food, great server, perfect ambiance. Terrific experience. Will return frequently.
Disappointed. Our waiter must have thought we didn’t need the carbs so he omitted our bread basket. Oysters served with ketchup, not cocktail sauce. Menu description: “Mildly” spicy seafood and pasta was very SPICY. One of my scallops were BURNT. Octopus salad was good.
Unfortunately our server seemed off! Kept forgetting to bring ice for our drinks. Confused about who ordered what, didn’t come to the table enough and asked if we wanted dessert (we already had dessert sitting in front of us)!
Management greeted everyone at the dining tables and asked how we were doing! We were honest with her along with another 2 tables near us.. she was concerned and attentive.. she said the waiter wasn’t normally like that so maybe being Labor Day, everyone was tired understandably.
Food was outstanding and we will be back!!
Delicious meal in an elegant setting offering dining al fresco.
Unless you enjoy bland over cooked food and an extremely noisy loud restaurant , this place is a definite NO.
We have dined in Cape May the past 11 years, this meal was by far the worst.
Great experience. We dined inside to enjoy the Jazz band playing on a Tuesday evening. Service and food were excellent. As this restaurant is located within the Ocean Club hotel we had an unruly toddler in a center table that was screeching a bit! Eventually the parents took him home to bed. All in all - a great experience.
Food was good but not what was expected there is no view. Plus very noisy with street action and Hotel issues
The food and the service were very good. The four of us each had a different fish or shellfish entree and everyone enjoyed their selection. The tuna appetizer was a bit skimpy for the price.
This is a moderately pricey restaurant, but the decor and noise level left much to be desired. The dining area felt more like a diner than an upscale restaurant. Especially annoying was the live entertainment that was playing so unnecessarily loudly that it was difficult to converse. Even when the band was not playing, the noise level in the room was quite high. We are not likely to go back.
Wonderful Scallops, great service.
Service. Was outstanding. Food was excellent..
Great food. Great service. Very enjoyable meal.
Sydney was wonderful. The food was absolutely spectacular. So much flavor. Very nice! A beautiful evening on the patio with great food and drink.
Our waiter, Luther, was exceptional. Great food & great service.
We've eaten at Sea Salts a number of times over the past few summers. Always good service and food. In addition, when we have brought the grandchildren, they have been very accommodating.
Food was good. Service was slow. Ambiance was strange. The main dining room felt empty. The singer in the bar was louder than I would have liked.
Pros: Creative, seasonal menu; high-quality fresh seafoods that are not just your everyday finds--the cobia is a star; clean, crisp dining area with great views; service staff strikes an excellent balance of professionalism and sociability; live musician was very good (though would have been way too loud if we were in the same room)
Cons: Generally the food was woefully under-seasoned especially when it came to salt/acid; octopus appetizer was a bit over-grilled and incoherent; wine list was limited in variety and didn't mirror the menu items; since we dined before the main dinner rush, our food was actually pushed way out too quickly--appetizers came out before we had ordered entrees, and entrees came out right as we finished appetizers; inside dining area a touch dark--but some may appreciate that...
Luther was a great waiter and the food was delicious. Highly recommend it for dinner.
Food is good but service was so-so. I would expect so-so service in the beginning of the season but not mid-August on a weeknight. Too many little mistakes.
Surprisingly good food at oceanfront hotel. After a day in Cape May , we stopped by this unassuming restaurant at the north end of town and were able to get an outdoor table with a lovely ocean view. We came in with low expectations in terms of the sophistication of the food. Instead, we had a very good appetizer of steamed clams in an excellent herb sauce. My wife's tilefish special was outstanding and my small plate ( generously proportioned) combo of crab and BBQ ribswas very good. Our meal was enhanced by knowledgeable wine suggestions and excellent overall service from our Luther.
We had an extremely nice and experienced waiter Luther.
Incredible food. Great service. Breakfast and dinner were both unique, fresh, and fantastic. All local seafood. Nice wine list. Homemade deserts are a must have.
Came in at 9:30pm on a Saturday night.. Service seemed a little scattered... things were not delivered to the table that were ordered and things were not served in the right order. It was hard to get the attention of the waitress because everyone seemed to be clocking out at that time(now around 10pm) ... food was just fair, the Halibut was very dry as well as the potatoes in which they unnecessarily give you about 3 pounds of mashed potatoes. Over all it was just OK but I would not rush back there.
Food exceeded expectations. Best meal of many amazing meals enjoyed in Cape May!
Service was flawless and our waitress was awesome.
Appetizers were fine both fish dishes were under cooked. My server was quite good. Will not return
We had an awesome dinner. We wanted outdoor seating so we waited a bit longer but it was worth it. I ordered the ceviche to start which they prepared a bit differently and it was delicious. For entree I had the scallops which they prepared to my taste and my friend ordered a special type of fish. The waitress was very nice and accommodating Everything was so fresh and tasty. Definitely returning
Wonderful waiter, tasty food! Noise level high with a bar( in the same room) and guitar player. A bit pricey
Great waiter who spoke about the specials with such grace and precision that my wife and i were delighted. The presentation and taste was superb,as good as any manhattan restaurant.
The food was just so so ... thought it was over priced for the quality . I don’t mind paying higher prices if the meal was exceptional but this definitely wasn’t
