Searhouse Ratings and Reviews
Went for valentines day.. I think the restaurant really was not prepared for the amount of tables that showed up (with reservations). Waiting 45 minutes for our drinks and thats after we asked for them twice. Food took more then 2 hours. Bill was $170 for two people and really was not worth THAT much but thats besides the point. Waiter was apologetic which was nice but really did not fix the 3 hours and 15 mins we spent in the restaurant to get and eat our food. I think the steak was good and cooked exactly as ordered (Medium) but did not really have that gamey/earthy taste I would expect after a 28 day aging process that that claim, 7/10. Lobster bisque was a 2/10. I would not eat here again - even if it wasn't a special occasion...
This was my second or third time at Sear. My boyfriend and I shared a wedge salad, which was great, especially the bacon, however I didn’t care for the dressing. We each ordered a veal chop, which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I just don’t understand why they smothered it in peppers, some quite spicy. For sides, we ordered onion rings as well as the Brussels sprouts with bacon. Both items were fair. The Brussels sprouts were actually mushy, not at all crisp, which was a huge disappointment. We shared delicious piece of key lime pie for dessert. Our server was busier with a table of women, and it took a full 10 minutes from when he asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu for it to arrive, and actually, it never did as by then my boyfriend was tired of waiting and he knew they have key lime pie.
Have been here several times. Pretty place. Food is very good. Highly recommend the Tuna. Regular on the menu and special was outstanding!
They owner (wife) is just lovely and when I politely complained about a special appetizer, it was immediately taken off bill. Dinner was delish and they even brought us a complimentary dessert!
People are definitely liking the place because it was completely full.
Will return for sure!
Food was excellent. Restaurant needs some updating, seat cushions were so flat and worn out felt like table was too high. They have a fire pit in front of the entrance, when we drove up there was a big cloud of smoke coming from pit, it was difficult to breath and we all stunk with smoke, it was so bad that the inside of the restaurant had strong smoke smell. Most of the waiters were polite and attentive accept for the one older waiter (might be headwaiter) he has an attitude and when i asked for a particular drink he told me they don't have it, without even checking with bartender. As it turns out I went over to the bar and asked for it myself and sure enough they had it.
Came here for my 50th birthday. Overall, experience was positive. However, I ordered the Diver Scallops which were very salty and over cooked. Given the price, I thought the food would have been excellent. However, disappointing. The tuna tartare was excellent. The amount was good enough to be my dinner. My husband was very happy with his seared tuna. I would give the restaurant another try and order the steak. My scallops were disappointing. I should have returned them to the kitchen.
Food was great. Had the oysters, caprese salad, and bacon slices. For entree we had boneless ribeyes, sirlions, and tomahawk for 2. All the steaks were cooked great. For sides we had creamed of spinach, truffle mac and cheese, and garlic broccoli. Dessert we had the lava cake, cream brulee (least favorite), pecan pie, and ice cream. All in all a wonderful dinner. Will definitely come back to try other entrees like their fish and pastas.
Restaurants are always fully booked for holidays, and this past Christmas Eve was no exception. Sear was extremely busy, yet we never suffered because of this; in fact, we had a terrific experience there. The service was top notch, as was the food. The steaks were perfectly done. The side dishes were excellent. Our drinks arrived on time. We weren't rushed. Sear is not an inexpensive venue; so we were again delighted to have a wonderful Christmas Eve family dinner there. Good job, Sear! And thank you for adding so much pleasure to our holiday dining together.
Overall impression is good. Very nice interior, white tablecloths. Service was so so. Slow waiters, nobody asked what we would like to drink. Food is ok. Appetizers were excellent (tuna tartar), oysters super fresh and juicy. Main course was not that impressive. Steak is ok, fish all come with fatty dressing which doesn't fit it well.
Each of the 4 in our party ate something different. One of the 4 dishes brought to the table was completely wrong, but the correct dish came quickly. 1 of the four orders was price fixed. The total cost of our meal was $300 including a 20% tip. We all agreed that the same or better quality food, service, etc. could be had elsewhere for less money.
We went here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. We dined from the prixe fixe menu, which I thought was an excellent value. For $35 per person, we each got a glass of wine, appetizer, entree, and dessert. There is also bread, cheese, and olives put on the table. The food was very good overall, as was the house wine. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion and I will definitely be dining here again.
It was my husband's 70th birthday. The good thing is that they took a reservation for 9 right away...that was the ONLY good thing.
1. I never had a drink order taken.
2. Our water glasses weren't filled once.
3. The noise level was unbelievable
4. The food was meh
5. The service terrible.
6. The cost outrageous for this !
This was the 3rd time we've been there with the last time being a few years ago. It's still as good as the last time. Maybe better. I had a ribeye steak and it didn't need any salt! The flavor and tenderness made it a superior experience. But watch out for the hot plate. They warned me but in cutting it I forgot and blister-burned my index finger. Applied ice for about 15 minutes, the sting went away and I continued to enjoy my steak. Only had a salad and a glass of house cabernet which was fruity and dry so I really enjoyed that too. Pretty room. Valet parking. All in all a seamless and scrumptious experience!
