Food was good but service was slow. Conference in town but didnt seem like the restaurant knew so there were not extra staff working. Full lunch took over an hour and a half. On a normal non-conference day, would be good spot to go to. Waitress was pleasant and helpful but over whelmed

Breakfast on day 2 was a disaster. The hotel was hosting an insurance convention and the restaurant did not have the proper staff (cooks, waitresses) to accommodate the function. My table waited 45 minutes for our food (only eggs and toast) and finally the waitress said it was ok to go to the buffet and get our food. Food still did not come and had to leave at 9:45am to go to a meeting. Mind you we had reservation at 8:15am. Waitress was put in a horrible situation but then tried to stick us with a bill. There is no way that waiting for over an hour we should be expected to pay a bill. Complained to the front desk. Had to leave for a 10am meeting and waitress was no where to be found.

There were seven of us at lunch. Three of our meals were awful. We did not ask the opinion of our 4 guests. The Grilled Steak Salad was a disaster. I could not even cut mine. The meat was that tough (bones, veins and gristle). It was supposed to be boneless. Trying to hide that you're spitting up half of your meal into your napkin is hard to do. The meat in my colleague's Steak Salad was pure fat. Our other colleague had the same experience there while dining with a different group that same day. Pretty loud as well. Hard to hold a conversation.

Great Food. Outstanding Service. Excellent ambiance. Pricey, but no worse than the lobby bar

The atmosphere was lacking. Although decorated nice for a hotel based restaurant, there was no music. Although it was dinner time on a weekend evening, the restaurant was empty. My waiter was friendly but seemed to be stand offish, and not very attentive. He gave me the impression that he had not been trained well. He allowed both my water and wine glass to go empty to the point of my having to ask another waiter to send my waiter back to my table. My steak was cooked to the right temperature (medium), however it was dry and somewhat flavorless.

Good option fo dining in Marriott Marquis. Solid menu - a combination of some southern options (shrimp/grits) with beef. They offer a 15 layer chocolate cake that folks say is great. Nice bourbon bar and good layout for hotel restaurant.

Standard hotel breakfast buffet with steep prices and lackluster ambience. A $14 frittata the size of a bread plate was a poor value, though the buffet had a nice smoked salmon offering that helped make up for it. Convenient but not a destination restaurant at all.

This used to be a very good restaurant. I hadn't been to Atlanta in a few years and was excited to eat here again this week. Checking in at the desk with the host looking down his nose at you is always a great start to an evening. The meal was not very good. I can get a better bone in NY strip at my local Meijer, cook it better, and cook it to the correct temperature better than what I was presented with. And that is supposedly Sear's "signature" steak. Very disappointing.

Due to Irma and related weather in Atlanta the restaurant decided to have a buffet instead of regular menu. The food was okay but was 32.00 dollars which was too much for what was offered. Several restaurants were closed so we were glad they were open. Waiter was nice.

Good food. Excellent dessert. Need to learn how to clear the line at the front when they get busy. More focus on the first impressions at the start and inviting to return on the way out would definitely help.

Great steaks! Could not even finish my Rib Eye. But that's probably because I had a great Appetizer of Lamb Chops! Food was excellent and the wait staff also excellent!

Dragoncon. Wentvto sit, eat and people watch. Didn't have a table by the crowds. Asked to be seated closer to the window. Restaurant was not crowded, in fact it was quite empty. But service was very very slow. Food was good. Decor is a little..cold and boring but I guess not bad.

Every year for DragonCon we dine at Sear. Every year it amazing. This year it was not. The food was good. The service was horrible.
Yes we dressed in costume and maybe our server prejudged us for that. Her mistake. She spent more time with her more normal attired guests. We had empty glasses most of the experience. Appetizer plates on the table well after we were finished. Salad plate still on the table while we are eating our entrees. We asked for some of our togo and boxes were just dropped off at the table. That has never happened before. Checks were dropped while all the dirty dishes on the table. Dessert was never offered. My dinner mate built a tower of the dirty dishes (yes he was drunk). A lady (not sure hostess or manager) came by and took the dishes after saying "that is when you know the dishes have been there too long" I hate to admit for the first time in my life I tipped less than 20% as I work in the industry. We tipped enough to make sure her tip outs were covered as we did not want to cost her money. Overall it was a horrible experience.

After requesting and confirming a specific private room via phone we showed up and were told that room was not ready yet. Waited a bit and asked if it was ready and were told it was taken.

After complaining we were taken to a different (larger) private room.

When food was brought we noticed a few of the places did not have steak knives and we had to get someone to get them.

Apart from that all good.

Food was really good. Servers were OK.... One person got cold fries. Menu is great and location is in a hotspot in the Marriott Marquis. Nice ambiance. A little on the pricey side, but about what you'd expect in an upscale hotel.

No one was in the restaurant but us. My Pittsburg style steak was badly overdone, BUT, our wonderful server noticed and took it and brought me one done correctly. I would have just let it go. Also, the brussels sprouts were not done.

This is the third time we have eaten at Sear over the years. As usual, the service and ambiance were excellent. You forget you are in a hotel restaurant. We have always had good meals there. One of us (a big time foodie) ordered the pork chop and raved over it's perfection. The BBQ shrimp I had was a treat and we shared the Wall of Chocolate Cake for dessert and it did not disappoint. If you are in Atlanta, Sear is a wonderful choice!
