Went to Sear after a long day at the Gift Mart. We were guests in the hotel. We ordered cocktails and were given a menu. Placed our order for our appetizers and meal with the waiter. After 15 minutes our appetizers arrived. Drinks came 10 minutes later. Starters were just OK and over-priced (but it IS a hotel restaruant).
We were rushed through the entire meal. Food was ruined from sitting under the lights for 15 minutes while we rushed through our appetizer/cocktail course (the server kept trying to deliver food that we were not ready for, nor was there room on the table. Manager replaced the overcooked steak and offered to comp the steak charge. Replaced steak was cooked okay but had no flavor...and the bill was NOT adjusted. BAD!
Although the food was outstanding and our special requests were accommodated, we canceled two other reservations at other restaurants to return to Sear so we could continue to enjoy Marion's special attention, VIP treatment and delightful personality. We were in town for the AmericasMart trade show and have special food limitations that include gluten free and dairy free choices that can make eating on the go difficult. Marion was happy to help us put together delicious meals that fit our restrictions and was ever delightful in her service. She's a asset to the business for sure!
We have dinner at Sear every time we're in Atlanta. Wonderfully varied menu, impeccable service...always a delightful evening!!
The soup (corn chowder) was amazing! Probably best I've ever had. However the vinaigrette dressing was so tangy it made the salad inedible. Waitress was great and made up for the unbearable salad.
The food wasn't good but the service we received was awesome. Everyone was so nice. They gave me a slice of cake for my birthday. I would go back for the drinks and great service. But not food.
Menu was interesting but preparation was ordinary, service was poor.
We went to celebrate our 18th weddingannv and loved the service this has been our third time here and as always excellent. Andre was our server twice and I just love him his knowledge of the food, specials , wine...... everything and has such charming personality. I am confident to say your whole staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

The lamb porterhouse is out of this world. The honey/mint sauce was the perfect compliment to the seasoning on the meat. The salmon was the tiniest bit overdone for the person who got it, but the sauce and accompaniments were well done. The vanilla bean cheesecake was pretty good - though we didn't expect it to be deconstructed! I wish the compote had been warm, though.
Our only complaint is that they seated diners quite close together on a night when the restaurant wasn't very busy. A loud group (who had already been at the bottle before they got there) was seated directly behind us in the middle of our meal and annoyed us the rest of the time we were there.

Went to Sear to celebrate my Birthday with my wife. The staff were all very pleasant and professional. The food was outstanding. Best gourmet Mac & Cheese I've ever had. A little pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Had the best filet mignon ever at this restaurant while staying at the Marriot Marquis. We went back the next day to have lunch, and it was just as good as dinner
It's not very often that the restaurant inside a hotel is good but SEAR is actually more than above average. Their breakfast buffet went on until 2pm, which I loved. Very spacious and accomodating, heard it had a good wine list but did not get a chance to try it out.
Nice, clean, friendly with good service and food. Very convenient for hotel guests.
I was in town for a conference and made reservations at Sear because I was staying in the hotel. I ended up eating there several times. The food was unimpressive. The meal I was brought often bore little resemblance to the description n the menu. The fare was bland and not impressive.
Service was not great. My granddaughter ordered ribs with a side of Mac and Cheese. It was a $3.00 up charge, boy so sure why but she couldn't even eat it as it had goat cheese which has a very definite taste not always good. It should of least been mentioned, we probably would not have ordered. I had a dinner salad with very little dressing, but we were unable to get anyone's attention to get more. Sorry but the experience was less than wonderful. I will think twice before I return.
My Husband and I spent our first wedding anniversary there and loved every minute of it. Amit and Sarah made it a night to remember. Can't wait to go back.
We all enjoyed the experience of dining at the Sear; We were very comfortable with all that we shared. The food was very good
the chef's were pleasing and acted as though they were glad to wait on us. Shandale and all the waiters were very nice and pleasant in waiting on us. The occasion was for Brandon's Graduation from SCAD class of 2013. The table setting was nice
and felt right for us. The food I enjoyed most was the Shrimp Cocktail and the fruit. Everything I ate was good.

First off for the amount of money you spend to eat a simple steak meal, you would think you would not be left wondering where is my waiter??? Well I must say that this thought crossed my mind several times. Also you would think that the way the menu is in an elegant for, meaning if you order the steak you get just the steak, that then you turn around and order sides for your sides, that the food would be something to say, "oh wow! this is really good." Well after asking all 6 people at our table how is your food, the same response kept coming back, "its nothing to brag about". I must say I am really disappointed and would have had a better dinner at the hotel's sports bar.
Steaks were the best part, sides including Mac and cheese and creamed spinach were bland. We sent mac and cheese back. For the $150 spent between two of us it should have been much better.
I haven't eaten at Sear before and decided to take my mom for Mother's Day Brunch. Unfortunately, for the price, it wasn't all that great!!! Overall, the food was pretty bland; nothing to 'write home about'. Being a bacon lover, I must say the bacon was not good at all. Maybe I will just stick to dinner at the restaurant. Hopefully this experience was not a result of the change of guards (ownership) at the Marquis.

i stayed at the marquis as part of a conference and ate at this place several times. the wait times between placing an order and getting served at lunch and dinner are ridiculous. the breakfast buffet was very good. do not eat there if you are ordering from the menu.
crab cake appetizer was good but portion was very small. main course (salmon) was not seasoned very well and didn't have much taste
Dinner for a Hotel restaurant- had one of the best steaks in recetn months- tender, done to the right temperature. Well paced, let you dine and enjoy. Highly recommend
My grouper was about 2oz. When I complained, it was doubled. The staff was terrible for such a nice restaurant. It was as though they didn't care. The manager had zero personality. On the upside, the menu was decent. Overall a disappointment

The atmosphere was nice and the food was awesome. Try the cocktail shrimp for an appetizer, it's only 3 but they are HUGE! The food is expensive but well worth the money. There is no small portions, you are guaranteed to be full. I actually couldn't finish my meal and took to rest home. The vegetables are fresh, and the steaks are big.
I was very unimpressed with Sear. The service was spotty at best. I could barely understand our waitress because of her accent. And she was not very helpful. When I asked what they were known for or the "signature dish" she told me "Open Flame". Then after much debate the manager brought us a mimosa to toast Valentine's Day, which we drank half of because it was nasty. And they charged us $24.00. PLUS my wife ordered a salad with salmon and I a salmon entree; and her's was twice the size of mine. Very Unimpressed and I won't be back.
The service was good. However, the food selection was limited, overpriced and not very good. Everything was a la cart, which works for some restaurants. However, this was no Ruth Chris or Chops. The best thing about the meal was my salad. The mushroom flatbread was too salty, the 20 ounce ribeye was overcooked, and the sides weren't family style (which you normally get when you dine a la cart). Don't waste your time.
For the money, go to Ruth Chris down the street.

I and my new husband enjoyed everything about Sear the food was wonderful and the service was great the cheif was very nice. The Staff made our honeymoon stay there wonderful and memorable. We will be visiting the Sear restaurant again and again. It was great to wake up and come down stairs to a wonderful atmosphere and pleasant people that welcomed us and new we had just got married so they were looking for us and the head cheif even knew our name that just took the cake hats off to the whole staff. A satisfied couple.

We were in Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl and stayed at the Mariott Marquis. Our 25th anniversary was going to be on January 1, so we celebrated while we were there. We mentioned this and we were surprised with complimentary glasses of champagne and a wonderful dessert at the end of our meal! Great food, great service!
Waiter was very experienced, informative and professional. Hostess was also courteous, professional and friendly. The food was great.
There were only a few people in the restaurant, then a party of 30 came and we were completely forgotten. We finally were served two mediocre steaks 1 1/2 hours after being seated and only after repeated complaints to the waiter and finally the manager. To be fair, the manager comp'd the entire meal and gave us free dessert.
