Sear House Grill
A thorough pleasure. So glad this Alabama boy found this great restaurant while in New Jersey on business. The staff was very friendly and service was great.
Amazing experience. Reasonably priced, but delicious food. I had the surf and Turf (lobster tail and fillet). The Blue Point Oysters were fantastic! Great staff. Very friendly and accommodating to an Alabama boy trapped in Jersey for a couple days.
Overly high prices for average food at best. Orders incorrect; ie: 23oz rib eye steak that was no more than 10 to 12oz and overcooked. Macaroni and cheese that was like soup. Too many negative points prompting a refusal for a return visit.
Everything was amazing
I have been here several times and every time the service and the food have been outstanding.
Food and service was very good but way overpriced. Will not return
We wanted to dine somewhere special for my mother's 60th birthday and we are glad we chose Sear House. The food was phenomenal, the waiter was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be returning!
Good food and very good service. We will come again and tell friends.
The ultimate Saturday night disappointment on every level. Food took forever then steaks came out raw in the middle and were definitely not "prime" grade as described (and priced) on menu. Super bright ceiling lights were shining straight down on every table and were also shining on wine bottles in display cases- a big no-no if they were to be served. Wines by the glass were sub- par and a mismatch for " prime" steaks.
Many other frustrating elements but you get the drift.
We haven't wasted money like this in a long time.
Like it ambience food was great service could use some work waiter was not around often yet restaurant was not that busy
Do not pass this gem up! From beginning to end an amazing dining experience! The food was delicious and the team at Sear is friendly and outgoing. A great place for drinks at the bar or a full dinner...enjoy soon!
Very bad and slow service. The red wine was warm. They didn’t clear our empty appetizer plates that had been sitting in front of us until they brought the entrees out. I ordered the “angry lobster” which is spaghetti, lobster and hot peppers, but it didn’t have any hot peppers in it. The server didn’t come check on us until I was half way done with my meal, and when I told him the hot peppers were missing, he didn’t even realize the dish was supposed to have them. I can’t believe they don’t know their menu better at a higher end restaurant. I’m not typically a complainer, but I spent many years in the service industry and this place is a big let down.
Go to business dinner venue when in area , great food and service . Very nice team and management , go extra mile to
ensure you have a fabulous dinner experience .
Food was good, service fair, prices extremely high for NJ
Excellent food and service
One of the best in NJ
Great Food , Great Ambiance, Great service ...Great night out !
You’ll never mis dining in the city after you dine here. Everything was top notch!
II was on a business trip from Southern California and stopped to visit my brother in Wayne. After researching restaurants in the area, I found Sear House Grill and read the reviews, which most were pretty goo. I booked a table for my wife and I, my brother and his wife and my brother-in-law and his wife. We had a great meal, were greeted by many of the staff and the Manager as well. Everyone was so pleasant and took very good acre of us. Their food was excellent and presentation was very nice. I would definitely go back again next time I'm in town. We enjoyed the resaturant, the people and the food very much. Thank you
Sear’s food is absolutely amazing and the service is superior. The manager Manny is wonderful and so helpful and the bartender Joanne is awesome!!
Fantastic food and high quality as well! Staff was very attentive, but never overbearing. There are plenty of rooms where it is nice and quiet....away from the bar. Perfect for a romantic dinner!
Simply put a great meal overall, staff was attentive food quality was great and cooked correctly.
Great food, great staff, manager is a real gentleman and very professional
Great food, ambiance and service. Old fashioned, classic italian restaurant
The food was excellent
The atmosphere was very nice. Staff was courteous. Food was very good. Loved the octopus appetizer.
Good for a special occasion.
Very disappointed, when paying that kind of money I expect great food and service. We were a group of 5, everyone was very unhappy. We had to beg for drinks, took 45 minutes to get 3 glasses of wine and a diet coke. Food was mediocre. Surf & Turf at $59 was small, lobster rubbery and steak tasteless...comes with no sides. It was a very disappointing experience. We will not be returning to Sear.
This was our second time here and we enjoyed it again. The food is very good and you are treated well from the time you walk in until you leave. Our waiter, Steve, made us feel at home both times and was very helpful in suggestions on what to order. We will definitely be going back again.
The waiter literally said 2 words to us all night. The bus boy actually had to check onus getting our food and then when we left the waiter didn't even say anything to us. I wish I could name the waiter but he didn't take this all evening
Unfortunately, my family and I did not have a good experience.
1. Place was empty and service was extremely slow.
2. Food came staggered. Some where almost done while others were still waiting for their plate.
3. Prices are very high in comparison to quality.
4. Soup tasted old
5. Clams casino had no flavor and was soggy.
6. 48oz steak looked more like 24oz. Very little meat. $98=no thank you!
7. Dessert was horrible
8. The waiters didn’t even ask if anyone wanted leftovers to be packaged. They took everything away and discarded.
9. After $900 bill for crap food we won’t return.
10. The best plate was the kids chicken fingers. Chicken tasted good and was crispy. Huge portion.
The service was excellent. Our waiter, Diamon was fantastic. He was very polite and attentive and had a great personality for dealing with the public. The avocado and shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious.
Drinks were excellent. Bartender Diamond knows what he’s doing. I had scallops. The abductor muscle was left on a few of them this caleber of a restaurant this should not happen. Waiter spilled drinks twice. We came for a birthday celebration. Not what we expected.
The food was very good, but neither the presentation nor the service were up to the standards of the food.
We had a birthday party dinner and everything was great. The food was delicious- excellent, the service was great, the ambience was romantic and quiet. We brought a home made cake for the birthday dinner and the restaurant cut and served the cake and did not charge a fee. They wrapped our cake leftovers too!
Highly recommend !!!
Love this local jewel!!! Food and service is outstanding!
The waiter could not get the order right after numerous corrections
Been going every Christmas, the price matches the quality of the meal. We've never waited more than a few minutes for service. Top notch service and every one is nice.
Christmas Eve dinner with family
Excellent food. Always fantastic!! Best steak and seafood!
Despite arriving early for our 8:00 reservation, we were not seated until nearly 9:00, and another 8:00 reservation who arrived after us was seated by 8:30. No one came to the table for more than 20 minutes, and that continued the entire meal. The food was good but not worth it. It was our 10 Year Anniversary and it was awful. Will not ever go back and will be sure to share our experience with anyone who asks.
The place is very, very small. Our table of three was squished in between 2 large tables of 10. The staff kept bumping into our chairs while serving. In addition, the while the steaks were wonderful, our dinner was waaaaaayyyyy too expensive. My husband ordered a special. 18 oz filet on the bone for $55. There is no way they served him an 18oz steak. More like a 12oz. Not worth the money.
