Seaglass Restaurant and Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the Seaglass restaurant before a Todd Rundgren concert for the second time. The reservations were easy, and the food was quite good, including the "Dueling Duck" which was well-prepared. Service was fine as was the rest of the experience. One area that needs improvement is the lighting: Diners shining iPhones to light up their menus were distracting and annoying. It was not possible to read the menu without supplemental lighting. I suspect the furniture is worn, but couldn't see well enough to be certain. Overall this place is good and right on the ocean so if you are there in the daytime it should be even better.
Great food for Sunday brunch but very slow service. We were seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time even though the restaurant was about 1/3 empty. It took a long time to get our bill too. I had to ask another waiter for help and ended up tipping him. The food was really yummy though and the view is spectacular.
Reserved one month ahead in person for a specific front window table for six, a seventh birthday for high school friends who traveled great distance for special dinner. The reservation was confirmed three additional times in addition to a dinner at same table two weeks before celebration dinner. I am a frequent customer and know the tables well. After waiting 30 minutes after reserved time we were shown to a different table not on the waterside. I was embarrassed and outraged that not only were we not giving the correct table but I was lied to! I told my party we were not to sit down and I sought management to correct this error, who continued to lie. I put much time and follow up to make this a special night for my friends and it was only saved by the fantastic waitress, Dawn. She make up for the most upsetting situation.i have since learned this has happened to other friends who have had their reservations changed. We were finally seated at a window table when I refused to sit at another table. Management should be ashamed to both lie and treat guests in such a manner.
This place, hands down, is romantic. The service was a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. I felt welcome. The food, however was hit or miss. My side of mac and cheese was good except for several hot pepper rings throughout. The portion was a bit big, but I was so hungry that it was easy to overlook. Raspberry tiramisu yummy. Steak cooked to perfection but little flavor. Just think you could use more elegance and consistency in the food to match this beautiful setting. note: I checked the box that I would not recommend this restaurant based solely on the food part. It would be like recommending a vacation to an area of Italy in which my food experience was not up to par . My advice would be to modify your trip to get the full Italian experience.
I am a frequent diner at Seaglass. Every time I dine here I have the Filet Mignon. The other night I ordered the Filet as always and when it arrived I knew that it was not a Filet, it was a steak. I pointed this out to the waitress but she insisted that it was a Filet. Nothing was done about it and I was charged for a Filet that I never got.
I am not happy. I may have to reconsider my future dining experience at Seaglass.
We went here before seeing a concert in Blue Ocean Music Hall, and I didn't expect the food to be as great as it was! My partner's rare tuna was some of the best he's ever had, and my swordfish with orzo, kalamata olives and feta was delicious. The waitress was warm and kind and the service thoughtful. I wish this place wasn't so far from where I live, because I would definitely return!
My friend and I were very anxious to try the Sea Glass. We had a wonderful table. However we were very disappointed with the meal. We each ordered a haddock entrée. The fish was very dry for both entrees. Perhaps it wasn't fresh? My friend did not enjoy the vegetables. I didn't feel that my lemon drop martini was made from fresh lemon juice. Lastly, our waitress slammed the plates down and wasn't very attentive. We were so disappointed as we had heard it was a great restaurant.
WE WERE GOING TO THE SHOW NEXT DOOR AND THE HOSTESS AND WAITPERSON DID A GREAT JOB IN GETTING US OUT ON TIME.WE ONLY HAD COCKTAILS (OUTSTANDING) AND FOUR APPETIZERS. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. THE OTHER COUPLE AND OURSELVES WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN FOR ANOTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE.
We sat right up against the window, the tide was coming in and the waves were crashing into the building and seafoam was coming up onto the windows. It was great! We also saw a little seal swimming along. We saw the whales here before. You just cannot beat the view.
Called ahead after making reservation, told them it was a special birthday for friend. Went in ahead and mentioned it again before being seated. No mention of anything from waitstaff. Never offered complimentary desert for Birthday guest as in past.
Did have best window seat, beautiful view. Food was well prepared and presented.
I did think lunch prices were a little pricey. Cost $110 for three people.
It took 25 minutes from being seated to having our order placed. Risotto was a starchy mess. Scallops we're over on one side and under on the other. Our waitress spent more time with the table next to us than ours. For a $100+ dinner on our honeymoon, I wasn't impressed. We could have had better food and service at McDonalds.
Gathered for a Labor Day family meal at the recommendation of others and was not disappointed. Atmosphere was casual elegance with a relaxed seaside theme, though a bit upscale. Food was creative and very well presented. I had the oysters rockefeller special to start which was superb, and followed it with the tai seafood boullabaisse which was full of rich flavor and featured a generous portion of shrimp, scallops and mussels. The curry sauce was mild enough, but so tasty, I almost asked for extra bread to get every last drop! Heaven!
The only two disappointments were the creme brulee dessert which, lacked flavor (it was kind of bland) and the salt-crusted windows which desperately needed a cleaning. The view of the ocean would certainly be amazing, if one only could see through the windows.
All in all, though an excellent meal! I will definitely return.
