Seaglass Restaurant and Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Our server was very slow. She did not come by to check on us or refill drink orders. There was a long delay between appetizers & entrees. One of our friends sent a dish back to not get her new dish until the 7 others were already done eating. She ended up taking it to go. The food was lacking flavor & was way too salty. The prices did not reflect the quality of the dishes. It was our first experience here & will unfortunately be our last.
We were very pleased with our lunch at Seaglass. The quality of food and beverages offered has improved greatly over my last visit a few years ago. It was once a favorite place for dining with friends and family and now I'm pleasantly surprised that it seems to have returned to its original high standards.
From appetizers to entree , dessert and finally the exceptional martini, I was very happy. Our server was also top notch. Kudos to Seaglass!
The Sunday brunch was good, but a poor value. The good was the omlette station and the beef & turkey carving stations. The poor value was the limited selection of everthing else, such as potatoes, veggies, desserts, etc. There was no juice available (you pay extra if you want juice) and there was no bread. For $27 they could provide a better variety, include juices and offer bread. There are many brunch spots just as good for far less $$, but you won't get the ocean view.
Oceanside and nice large open with high ceilings and comfortable seating restaurant that is part of the music hall venue. Possibly good for weddings. Large bar. 6 of us went to Sunday Brunch 2 of us had drinks (Memosas) bill was $190. Brunch was good with a reasonable diversified menu. Omlette station was made to order. Had prime rib and turkey carving station. Rest of food was served buffet style and was nice.
There was no bagels or bread available. I thought that this was strange for a brunch. Our server disappeared for 30 minutes after getting us coffee. No one picked up plates at table when we went for 2nd round of food. After we were finished I asked the server about bread/bagels and she said we should have asked for these because they had electrical problems with toasters on the food line. Funny, when we first got there, she asked us if were new customers for the brunch and explained to us about how to use the buffet. She did not mention anything about asking her for bread service. I guess she really needed a break. I guess if the management had any serious customer service desire, they would have placed a couple of little signs on the serving lines or at the tables saying "Please ask your server if you would like to enjoy some of our freshly toasted breads or bagels."
This was our first trip to Seaglass for birthday brunch. The food was fantastic, the selection was great. My only complaint was that when I made my reservation, I requested waterfront/window view and was nowhere near a window. I asked to be moved to an empty table near the window and they told me it was reserved but nobody sat there the entire time we dined. However, they did accommodate by seating us in front of the fireplace without many other tables nearby so that was nice. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Went to see a concert at Blue Ocean Music Hall and decided to have dinner at Seaglass prior to the show. So glad we did. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious and well prepared. My T-bone steak was cooked to perfection and my New England clam chowder was extremely flavorful. My wife’s salmon was also well prepared and as flavorful. My children had the shrimp and they loved it. The restaurant and music venue are a great combination for a great night out. I highly recommend both. We will be back.
Very nice over all as usual. Only problem was the party seated right next to us was too close. Apparently a woman kept turning & looking at us like we were annoying her. Unfortunately we have a person who is hard of hearing so she should have moved. I think next time you might want to space tables out since there was lots of open window seating.
On the other hand, Blake our server was awesome. Took very good care of us.
I'm sure you don't really want to know how horrific our experience was. It was so bad I cannot even comment on our food because we had to shove it down our throats for the price because we ordered it and it didn't arrive for over an hour!!! Yes ... an hour. We sat down earlier than our reservation (about 4:15 so we had plenty of time for drinks, dinner and maybe even a dessert before the show (Maureen Hancock at 6:30) and we alerted our waiter that we would be attending it. Our order was taken around 4:30, our drinks arrived around 5 and our meal was delivered after 5:30. I did complain to the manager who was difficult to find and the girl at the front desk didn't know I was standing there for a good 3 - 4 minutes because she was busy texting on her cell phone. After a moment I cleared my throat and asked her to put her phone down and find the manager (? name but a dark haired young man). After my complaint, he tried to explained that it wasn't their fault. WHAT?? and that they weren't prepared for the number of people that night per staff! (REALLY???)
The other five people with me were affected too and this absolutely stunk! We are all perplexed about ever coming or recommending the Seaglass. The food we "engulfed" smelled delicious. The desserts passing us looked phenomenal and but had no time. One of us left the table with five coats to hold our seats in the auditorium (and she never ate, we got her food to go since she had to pay for it anyway).
So needless to say, here's my quick breakdown and as a business owner (and now I can't trust bring a client there) things I saw that need improvement:
1) Have to rate the food poor cause we never really had time to taste or enjoy it
2) Staff was horrific and it technically wasn't their fault it was the managements fault for improper staffing.
3) Ambiance was nice from what we could see because the sun was setting
4) Hostess should not be allowed to have her cell phone with her at her station.
I was very disappointed in the food we had the brunch the eggs Benedict was so over cooked that the eggs where hard boiled the fish was over cooked as well and very very dry I certainly will not be returning there for brunch very expensive for the quality of food
