We are Philadelphia' oldest seafood restaurant serving our neighbors as well as out of town guests for over 40 years in a casual setting. We specialize in the freshest fish, seafood and live lobsters purchased and shipped in on a daily basis. Daily offerings include wild salmon, day boat scallops, sea bass, jumbo shrimp, tuna, catfish, crabcakes and the aforementioned live lobsters to name just a few of the items on our menu. Be sure to save room for our homemade desserts like key lime pie, chocolate mousse, bread pudding and more.

Always delicious and best value in town but they have so much more on extensive menu and everything is fresh and well prepared. Great family run business and owners are friendly and always around to insure all goes well.
This weekend was my second visit to your restaurant. I enjoyed your little cosy restaurant along with the beautifully garnish dishes. Each time the meal was tasty and well prepared. Although the portions could have been a little larger ( i am a big guy ). The only complaint I have is on my last visit I had the lobster and it was served split down the middle with the guts still on the lobster in sight. I didn't care for the visional. I looked past it. But if my girlfriend have been there it would have gross her out. She was supposed to be there but couldn't make it at the last minute. Maybe you should warned people about how it's served. Maybe I might be ignorant to serving a lobster but that just my opinion. Other wise everything else who excellent .
The food was delicious, and the recommendations of the server were helpful. We were thrilled to be able to secure a reservation at the last minute. The only downside was that our table was located at the back of the restaurant next to the kitchen. I imagine that being seated near the front window would have slightly improved the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely return the next time we are in town.
The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the service was outstanding. We sat for quite a while chatting before looking at the menu, and the server never once rushed us. Everything was excellent, except for the very noisy table behind me that arrived (fortunately) when we were up to dessert. Restaurants should have a nice way to tell people not to yell while in a restaurant!
The food was good and innovative. The staff very welcoming. Our evening enjoyment was marred by an extremely exuberant table of women who were loud. Quite loud. And unfortunately the sound echoed
Our server apologized as the other 3 tables made a hasty retreat.
I would go back. And if I had similar encounter ask for take out!!!
Our third time here and the food was as good as ever. We were a group of 6. Service lagged a few times, but was not bad. We were seated near the servers station outside the kitchen and there was a bit of distraction from the conversations between wait staff and the kitchen. This issue would not stop me from returning.
This is one of my favorite Rittenhouse square Restaurants.When I don't bring my own wine I enjoy one of their excellent cocktails.
The food is great. Especially the Shrimp Cocktail(get it with spicy remoulade sauce) raw oysters and clams.The other night I had Sea Bass with a Falafel crust.Very good with the Middle Eastern touch. Save the best for last.Hard choice. the chocolate mousse or the carrot cake. BYOB also makes for a good buy
My family wasn't at all impressed.
We had a 7 o'clock reservation, we arrived almost 10 minutes late (parking was horrific) and the table still wasn't ready, so we waited outside a few minutes. When the hostess did say our table was ready, we all (seven of us) came in, but no one said anything else. My grandmother ended up asking "Well where should we go?" A waiter said "oh you can go straight back to the left." That was a little off putting but ok... We have a seat, we are given menus, we place our orders. The waiters were pretty cool. But I (along with my family) wasn't at all thrilled about the food. The. Lam chowder that three of them got was prettt thin a little flavorless. The quesadilla came out super burnt on the bottom, with very little meat & cheese inside. My sister ordered calamari that came out as mostly scraps, and also lacking flavor. I had a shrimp & tortilla appetizer that was really good. My moms entree ended up being taken off the bill because the scallops were super rubbery. My sister (who normally eats anything!) barely ate her crab cake dinner. My boyfriend overall enjoyed his meal but was a little upset that what was supposed to be a "bourbon glazed salmon" really just tasted like salmon with a little maple syrup. I enjoyed my meal of chicken & risotto. But over all we really weren't impressed with the quality and flavor of the food.. Mot really worth the hassle of center city traffic and parking..
Our waiter was very inexperienced. We sat for a while before he greeted us and he was just standing around before that. We had to ask him to pick up our drinks from the bar as they were waiting there. The raw oysters and clams were good. We ordered the scallops and they were very overcooked- to the point of being tough. The waiter didn't ask if we wanted desert. He just brought the check. Also, it's cash only so be prepared.
The waiter was a moron. His own coworker did not know where he was. We ordered house margarita/ he said we can only that at the bar/ then we ordered the flavored/ and he brought the house margarita to the table saying we could have this instead. Then we literally sat for 30 mins waiting for him to take the order for the table. Then another 30mins for a glass of wine. BIGGEST ISSUE was halfway through my glass of water, I found scum inside the glass with floaters!!!! OH WAIT, forgot to mention the waiter kept rubbing his nose with his hands, never washed them and when I asked for a straw he grasped it with his entire hand and inserted it in my glass!!! OMG- I Called the manager over, she apologized but never brought a new glass of water, I saw her frantically washing the other glasses by hand. Our food came came out like train cars... back to back to back and was room temperature. No offer to take anything off the bill. No apology from the waiter. The waiter lied said he couldn't split our bill because the machine was broken, I called the manager and she did it with no problem. LIAR LIAR. Overall, not a place I would recommend nor would I return under any circumstance. Mind you I like dining out, this place was subpar to say the least.
What is most telling is that we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night when all of the other restaurants were hopping. The food was mediocre and the service abysmal. The staff sat around complaining about their jobs and lives. Won't be going back.
Can't say enough about this place. The food was incredible and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I had the best New England clam chowder I have ever had. And I've had a lot of clam chowder. My waitress suggested the soft shell crab since they are in season; and I am beyond happy that I took her reco. They had run out of the risotto, so they subbed in this amazing garlicky rice. Everything was amazing. Everyone come here!!!!
Their swordfish is always perfectly cooked and tasty. This time it had a miso glaze. I didn't think it could be improved but this version was outstanding. I dine here frequently and usual order the specials which are consistently excellent. Even the vegetables are delicious.
This is an odd restaurant for the 20th & Spruce area. It specializes in seafood (the building was once a fish store) but either the ingredients or the chef results in dishes that do not make one think of fresh fish but rather the cooking style of Margate 1963. The servers are friendly enough but dispatch plates on the table as if they are in a neighborhood diner. No wonder this place was only half full on an evening when nearby restaurants had their tables full. It needs to up its game for the Ritt-Fit area.
