Seafood Peddler Ratings and Reviews
Neither of us had been and we were so pleasantly surprised at the beautiful view from its windows, the pleasant and attentive staff, and above all, the quality of the Peddler's seafood. My companion, who grew up eating seafood in San Francisco, loved it. So did I. I would return in a heartbeat, and recommend it without hesitation.
We have been going to the Seafood Peddler since it was in San Rafael before they moved to Sausalito. The old place was better. In this case we went because it was my wive's birthday, she loves lobster, and they are one of the few places close by that have fresh lobster. Four of us had a nice dinner, but frankly I find the place over priced. Our entrees were delivered on very hot plates before earlier dishes were removed, creating something of a awkward situation. My wife ordered a whole lobster and when she asked for help "disassembling" it the waiter basically was unwilling. Not a bad place, but just not a place worth going out of your way to go to....unless you really want fresh lobster.
The food, especially seafood, is well prepared and delicious. Some of the veggies are a bit overcooked. However, the quality of the food, and the generous portions are winners. It is a place with indoor and outdoor dining. From the upstairs areas, the views toward the east are impressive. Highly recommend this for a romantic dinner. By the way, our waiter, Genaro, was outstanding. We would return just to have him wait on us.
have eaten here several times. Overall very good. However, this time both my wife's and my entrees were pretty salty. I have ordered similar dishes in the past and they were fine. Maybe they had a different cook?? Next time, I may have to specifically request low salt with my order. I definitely will eat here again
Wonderful fresh steamed cracked Half Moon Bay crab, mixed seafood grill and Macadamia crusted sole and wedge salads. The apple crisp (we shared) was terrific too. A few of the sailboats in the Marina outside are beginning to decorate with Christmas lights. Beautiful, clear and quiet night for a respite after Thanksgiving.
We went to Seafood Peddler because it was one of the few local restaurants open on Thanksgiving. Instead of the standard Thanksgiving fare, we opted for the regular menu and were very satisfied with the petrale sole picatta. We started with gin & tonic cocktails with oysters and followed with a glass of sauvignon blanc with the meal. We chose key lime tart for dessert. Although very busy, we were seated quite quickly and our waiter was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant has a good view of the water and is very pretty at night. We found parking quite easily, but I'm not sure if is by permit only or for anyone after 6pm. Overall, we would recommend this restaurant.
Family from out of town wanted sea food. Everyone ordered something different, and everyone was happy with what they ordered. Also, two in our party are hard of hearing, and we were given a separate room, so the noise level made it easy for all of us to hear and understand one another.
We came here for lunch during a day trip to Sausalito and we were very happy with our choice. We requested a table with a view and they honored that request – we got a very nice table with a view to the marina. The food was delicious! The black mussels in particular were the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding as well. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sausalito.
