Seafood Buffet (Deer Valley Resort) Ratings and Reviews
Third time at the buffet and it never ceases to disappoint. If you don’t like what is on the buffet (which is close to impossible unless you are vegan, you can order anything a la Carte and they will make sure you get it, even off menu. Few places combine classy selection of food with premier service. Tough to beat, if at all.
We try to dine at the Buffet once a year. It is only open during the ski season and this we their last night this season. The oysters, of which they had two varieties were excellent. There are always the large peel and eat shrimp in addition to the two in the shell crab choices from the cold seafood table. There are innovative appetizers such as the two different flavors of pork ribs or their non-traditional clam chowder which was excellent. There is usually prime rib which is done to perfection and hot seafood which is always different. The only entree that was not up to snuff was the lobster ravioli. The wait staff is very attentive and always refreshing your utensils and clearing used plates. The choices for dessert are extensive and you need to leave room. This is not an inexpensive event but with the harp music and quality of the food it is worth a once a year splurge.
Second time at the seafood buffet and was as good, maybe better than the first. This is a must visit for anyone in the park city area who enjoys a high quality ingredients and doesn't mind paying for them. Oddly enough the best dishes were the Korean spare ribs followed closely by the king salmon and tuna poke. There are so many dishes to try and enjoy that you will not make it through them with one visit. Highly recommend.
This is my second time to the Deer Valley Seafood Buffet but 14 years between visits only because I haven't been to Park City during that time. I loved it then and I loved it this time. We spent almost 2 hours eating slowly and doing our best to taste some of everything. There were multiple salads, multiple cheeses, shrimp cocktail, and smoked salmon as starters. There were many choices of fish to eat, roast beef, desserts, and other seafood dishes. Everything was great. Our waiter and his assistant were awesome and though it was dark, I had a seat facing the mountain looking out a window with it snowing...gorgeous. I highly recommend it!!
We reserved a table at 8:30 and by 8:35 they had stable ready for us. This is our 3rd time coming here whenever we're skiing. It's more like a tradition that we have to eat here when we're at park city. Service was excellent, we had John like the last time and he remembered us. The oysters were fresh but not as good tasting as before. It's more briney and chalky. The lobster roll was a hit as well as the ahi poke. The prime rib was tender as usual and rightly done. The dessert selection was mind boggling. Definitely be back here next ski season!
The best seafood buffet anywhere. We love everything about Deer Valley. All of our children, now grown married professionals, attended the Deer Valley ski school while growing up and we have endless wonderful memories. The Sea Food Buffet with our oldest and her husband added to them.
Thank you for a wonderful evening
Five star food in a one star venue - think "Gourmet Seafood Meets Golden Corral Buffet" - with a harp. Great for a large group, or a family with kids with hard-to-please palates (although the price may be off-putting for families). Good service, and the food selection was superb. Enjoyed the oysters, crab legs, & salad before moving to salmon Wellington, roasted squash, and sauteed parmesan spinach. Nice wine list - the Sancere was excellent. Great food, but even a harpist can't create enough ambience to overcome the cavernous, impersonal lodge setting.
Where to start when it all was so exceptionally delicious? My husband loves the all you can eat crab legs. I loved the hot entrees, which were salmon Wellington, and ahi tuna prepared to your specs. The cheese and jam selections, though small , were delightful. The desserts were pretty much mind blowing.
I was disappointed. While the food was fine, it simply wasnt worth the price. We had dined at the best restaurants in PC during the week from Zoom to Grappa. The last night we went to the buffet. It felt like an upscale cafeteria and a real let down after the previous meals.
The seafood is extraordinarily fresh and delicious. On a recent visit, the Hawaiian Tuna Poke was our group's favorite item among stiff competition from fresh Dungeness crab, Washington state oysters and a tasty, hot bass entree. Did I mention the many delectable desserts!?! The service, too, is impeccable. My only complaint is that, without fail, my all-adult group ends up seated in the adjacent "chocolate milk dining room" versus the far more attractive main dining room.
We spent a week in park city. We ate here our third night. Honestly I'm not crazy about seafood, however the food was delicious. The atmosphere and service was great. What was not great was the PRICE of the buffet. And we didn't see the price listed. We are a family of five. There is no way we could afford this place as a family. Luckily, we were there on a date. But it was still by far the most expensive meal of the week. However, the food was indeed great. No other complaints. Just super expensive.
The Seafood Buffet at Deer Valley never disappoints. The food is both superb and plentiful and the diversity of dishes shows great imagination by the chefs. Although I have no complaints about the service, the waiters did not seem to have time to hold discussions with us on any issues other than the meal. I have enjoyed such chats in the past and missed this feature on this occasion.
Generally, not a fan of buffets. But this one was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. The freshness of the seafood was incredible. The night we visited, they had oysters from Washington State on the half-shell. My wife and I agree these were some of the best oysters we have ever had, and--being a lifelong Marylander who loves Chincoteagues--that is high praise. The Dungeoness and Opilio crab legs were also amazing and I haven't mentioned the other usual buffet fare, including prime rib, which was also delicious. Just a very pleasant surprise for a buffet, and we would definitely recommend!
The Deer Valley Seafood buffet never disappoints. The food choices are creative and exciting. Every time I go, I get to try something new and delicious. The harp music was lovely and added to the dining experience. The choices were vast and the food amazing. Enjoyed every moment and every bite.
We make a point to dine here every time we come out to Utah for skiing. You can request your preferred table and server in advance. We like being away from the buffet area because it is quieter and more relaxing. Love the live harp music and the ride up the funicular for after dinner drinks at the st Regis next door.
