Seafood Buffet (Deer Valley Resort)
Seafood Buffet is now closed for the winter season. The restaurant will open for the 2020/2021 ski season, December 5, 2020 through April 11, 2021. Please visit our website for updates and details.
One of the worst expensive meals I have ever had - for the most part, the food simply just was not good.
Incredible food. Superb staff. Last night before closing for Coronavirus. Went out of their way to make the evening pleasant even though they only had half the tables out and had to hand us our food from the buffet. Not cheap but worth it for a special occasion or vacation.
A most memorable nite
Now part of our annual Utah ski week
The food and the staff were beyond our expectatios
Appetizers an sushi were excellent. The crab legs and oysters were small. Everything else good.
Good food but hard to find once your at the resort.
An excellent seafood extravaganza! Everything was amazing.
Enjoyed it last year also and will continue doing so each year we come for skiing.
The seafood buffet used to be such a great experience. This time the oysters were poorly shucked with multiple shell pieces in each one and the hot food was barely warm. The server we had was kind but we often were left looking for her. The ambiance is always beautiful. The staff behind the cold appetizer bar were dismissive and appeared bothered when asked about something but the poke and sushi staff did a great job and the escolar was amazing. Given the price, I expected better food and certainly better service. I used to recommend the seafood buffet to everyone I knew, telling them it was worth at least going once. I won’t be doing that after this last experience. It was sad to see a place fall below the standards it used to exceed.
Thank you very much for making us aware of your experience. We apologize that it did not meet your expectations. We have passed your comments on to Deer Valley's Director of Food and Beverage, and the team at Seafood Buffet. Our team will address these concerns in an upcoming training. We had a great time. The selection of seafood was incredible!
Top Notch Dining
The Seafood Buffet is a tradition for a Park City vacation, and has never disapppinted. We arrived early for our 7:00 reservation and were seated immediately. New this year was a poke station and a soup station, excellent additions. As many king crab legs as you can eat, the sablefish and the scallops were out of this world, sushi was great too. We enjoyed the ribs and the prime rib, too. The sides were fine, nothing great, but no one cares, it’s all about the fish. The dessert bar is good, enjoyed the local huckleberry ice cream. Our service was slow, but it was our server’s first night and she very nice and tried hard, and anyway we weren’t in a rush. This is a pricey dinner, even in Deer Valley, but the experience is well worth it.
The food was excellent large crab legs, excellent sashimi, missed the wasabi sauce but still excellent. Took a friend for the first time, now I’m going to have to take her every year. Staff was the very best.
Been to this for several years running. Quality of the food (especially raw bar - oysters, crab legs etc) not as good as in years past (like most things at Deer Valley).
Deer valley seafood buffet never disappoints, I eat here every winter when I travel here for ski trips. I've even taken at least a dozen friends who aren't seafood eaters and no one has ever regretted going. Plenty of variety for everyone. I can't recommend it enough.
The seafood is excellent, but there are also plenty of non-seafood options for those that don't enjoy seafood...the menu says it all! You never feel rushed and can take your time enjoying all the wonderful options!
I have been going to the Seafood Buffet for many many, years. Since Alterra "took over" Deer Valley, there have been changes to the food AND the skiing. Upon my last visit (2/26/20), it was apparent that the quality, size and taste of the clams and mussels just isn't what it used to be. They are now small, overcooked, dry, and served in small bowls. The crab legs are smaller. The spring rolls were awful. And the WORST crime...Deer Valley's signature dessert, the Chocolate Snowball, has been reduced to an "ok" chocolate mouse covered by whipped cream - where is the CAKE? wasn't there a chocolate ganache layer? It's still worth the "treat" if you can overlook the things that have gone downhill in the last couple years.
Food quality and therefore value was poor, everything else was great
Been to the Seafood Buffet several times now and enjoy it tremendously. The food selection is quite good, the fish is fresh, presentation is tidy and appetizing, and service is professional and friendly. Given the quality of the experience, it is a good value for Deer Value.
I think our expectations exceeded the quality of the seafood. The shrimp were undercooked, the snow crab legs were small making it unnecessarily difficult to enjoy them. The oysters were shucked improperly resulting in most of them being flattened/collapsed. The prime rib was very good. The duck was relatively flavorless and not crisp. The desserts were good. We went with a party of four, all locals. We agreed that we won’t go again.

We loved our server Shelly. The food was above average. We will return. Next time we will request a more private table. My only complaint is that several of the employees working the buffet stations were really unfriendly.
This was a good experience...and something we had been wanting to try for a while. For the price, I felt they could have had a few more entree choices, a salad bar, and better service. Don’t get me wrong...the service wasn’t bad. But for $80 a person, I felt like it could have been a little more “wow”.
We are glad we tried it, but honestly may not ever go back. For similar to slightly more money, we prefer the food and service at Ruth Chris’ Steakhouse.
Great selection, everything prepared fresh, delicious assortment
Food and service where awesome!
Great experience, particularly with multi-generation family and young kids. Abundant food. Could use better desert selections. Lots of cracking and peeling to eat the shrimp and crab legs!
We have been fortunate enough to be able to come out to Park City over the years and more times than not, we come to the buffet.
My husband and I love Seafood Buffet! Sad it’s only open during winter season!
It’s pretty expensive but really high quality. Once per trip was enough for us but great.
We go back to this every year on vacation. Great night out with the family.
Last meal at the end of our vacation. Great food. Love the harpist. Service speedy and very friendly. Thanks Nicole.
Wonderful evening filled with a bounty of delicious food. We didn’t want to leave!
My family have been going to the seafood buffet twice a year for many years. Seems like it gets better every year.
Kind of hit-and-miss on quality. The “king crab” legs served are in the 30-40 size range, which means a lot of effort to access the meat. About the size of your typical opilio crab. Good flavor, but way too much work. The prime rib, duck and seared tuna were very good, but the swordfish was overcooked and dry. The scallops over a bed of risotto were excellent.
The white wine flight and the Pinot noir flight were good flavors and a reasonable value.
The harpist was really good, and well worth tipping for the entertainment.
Not sure the buffet is worth $80 per person, but a reasonably good meal overall.
Food was pretty good but they were out of a few dishes. This may have been because we went on Sunday and they aren't open the following couple days. They should have everything available though for $80 a person.
Food superb. Harpist a delight.
Always a great time! Amazing service. Food delicious! Perfect ambiance
Delicious food, great value, great service! I would definitely recommend this.
Too much hype and it did not live unto expectations. I love king crab and only the smallest of legs and claws with multiple joints were offered. After cleaning the legs by hand a linen napkin was offered to wipe up with. Linen, the least absorbing product available. I gave up on them. The buffet was crowed and standing in line was the norm....no thank you. The swordfish was precooked and very dry. It just didn’t live up to the hype and advertisement. Oh....venue in BAD NEED OF REMODEL!!!! It was like eating in a dark and dreary dungeon.

Very cold inside!!! We got moved to a table closer to the buffet and that didn’t even help. Raise the temp people!
Sushi was mediocre. The fresh tuna stations were really good. The prime rib and sides were good. The scallops were probably my favorite. I don’t like the set up of the buffet. Most of the food (except salad) is behind the bar and has to be served by staff. For a buffet I’d rather be free to choose what I want and how much. The price was completely outrageous.
Pricey but the food options are pretty good. The poke station, the chowder and the king crab were all winners. Special occasion dining.
Everyone on our party loved the Seafood Buffet. The selection at each station was terrific - fresh, excellent quality and well prepared. The servers take the time, with a smile, to explain each area and what is being served. We arrived at 715 pm for our reservation, we’re seated immediately, took our time chatting and eating, and never felt rushed. The evening was delightful and I highly recommend it - but be sure to go hungry! (On a side note, many gluten free options, clearly marked.)
