The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
My wife and I were celebrating her birthday and decided to try this restaurant based on the location and mostly positive reviews.
We were sited promptly and were given a booth as I requested, and that was when it all went down hill. We were ignored for 15 minutes and we decided to fetch our own drinks from the bar. The manager finally noticed our presence and took our order.
Our appetizer was very good but our entrees took an additional 40 minutes to arrive. My filet mignon was cooked properly and the seasoning was average. My wife's pasta dish was served luke warm, the end to a disappointing meal. Everyone was very apologetic and they took 10 dollars of our bill, but I would have rather had a quality dining experience.
I will not return to this restaurant and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
My overall experience was good. Not enough variety on the menu—in my opinion. The service was AWESOME—no complaints there.
While the food and views are to die for, the staff is second to none.
Very relaxing, great view and food was enjoyable, and servers/waitress was very friendly and helpful
Worst service, poor food, very disappointing over all. Will never go back again.
Nice restaurant, clean, good atmosphere and service, accessible parking, $$$$
Even with a reservation we still had to wait. It took the waitress until we were finished eating to refill our drinks. We were looking for her for some time.
Prices have really increased and portions seem woefully smaller. We were a little disappointed seeing as we’ve had better dining experiences here before
Original server was very kind and attentive. When he went on his break, he mentioned someone would take over but we did not get the attention for a while until I waved someone down to see what was up. Also, we ordered over-medium eggs with the grilled cheese, but it came sunny-side up with some runny egg whites remaining.
Great menu, good food and service
We went to dinner on valentine's Day. Very busy. They only had a fixed price menu of $64 per person. I do not feel this Fixed Price Menu was well advertised as I did not understand that was the only option. The food was good put not worth the per person charge. The valet parking was a bargain at only $3. Location, service, ambience was good and I most likely will return for another visit.
My girlfriend and I’s experience was very good overall. We celebrated Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, we were not given the option of picking where to sit. We hoped to try food from their regular menu but only had the option of their 4-course meal which was pretty pricey. All food/beverage items were great and our waitress was able to describe each item that we had questions about. However, the portion of Chilean sea bass (main entree) that my girlfriend had was so small. The atmosphere was nice and made us feel like we were in Hawaii again.
Food was delicious. Staff was very attentive and kind when asking for requests. Excellent ocean view. Cocktails were great.
The location is excellent and the food is very good. It is high priced and the servers left a bit to be desired. Plus, we were there on Valentine’s Day and the manager came over to the table next to us and had a 10-15 discussion with a colleague/customer that was disruptive when couples sitting next to them were trying to have a romantic dinner.
Very nice, clean place with a good view
High prices, poor service!
Today, I tried brunch at Sea180 I loved it. Although, it’s on the beach and was chilly today. I still opted to sit outside near the beautiful sea wall. The ambiance is amazing. Brunch was worth it. The bottles of mimosas are only 15.00 with brunch. We where celebrating a birthday and it turned out perfect.
Quality not as good as 3 years ago. 3 scallops for $33.00 is way over priced. Skimpy risotto was over salted. Strawberry salad was good, however. Service poor. Seated with no table setting & had to ask. Then Literally thrown on table for us to arrange. Service staff not welcoming or friendly. And what about this 4% surcharge on the bill? No explanation.
We went to celebrate a birthday, the service was great, the view that this place hace is awesome! I love this place.
The food is really good. When we finish our dishes, they surprise the birthday lady with a piece of brownie dessert.
We have been there many times. The food is average and overpriced but we come for the magnificent view. I made a reservation for a 90th birthday party & spent nearly $200 for lunch for 4. I ordered mussles and Asked for some bread. I was charged $7.00 for 2 pieces of toast. Although the birthday girl was acknowledged when we came into the restaurant. No one even bothered to put a lousy candle in to the desert that we ordered for her. Really? Hugely disappointed.
The food we ordered was fantastic however the service we received was not great at all. When we first got seated we did not get acknowledged by our server. It probably took at least 5-10 minutes to be called on. When the server arrived she asked what we wanted to order right away. We weren’t asked what was our drinks.
When the server did engage with us, she was very nice. However why I marked her down was because she was hardly around and it didn’t seem to me that she was busy. We asked multiple times for either water or extra blankets. Never got the blankets and it took at least five minutes to get the water. Again; the server was MIA afterwards.
Finally after our table was cleared it took another 10 minutes before a birthday dessert arrived for our friend. The server was nice yet no silverware was provided. How are we to eat the cake? So we had to use the knife that wasn’t initially cleared, used it to cut the cake and then eat with our fingers. To be a high end restaurant in Imperial Beach I would expect more.
Don’t get me wrong the server was not rude to us at all when she engaged with us. Her inattentiveness is why I am rating our experience the way that I did.
I really wanted to like this place. Everyone I've talked to said this place was awesome. I made reservation Saturday at sunset for my wife's birthday and the sunset was probably the best part :/. It took a while to get our app and drink order in. Order Brussels and the mango tAngo margarita which was really good. When we finished our app. It took someone another 30-40 min to come to see how we were and they asked if we wanted to see the desert menu...ummm dinner would be great first. I can understand if they were busy but there was no one inside the restaurant just seemed understaffed. I ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the burger. Mine was ok. My wife's burger was burnt. Again another hour before anyone came by to see if we were doing ok. At that point I just got the check :/ the view is awesome but service and food is subpar. Disappointing for a Cohn brother's restaurant
An amazing restaurant with the best ocean view in SD. The breakfasts here are well worth it.
The waiter we had was just wonderful. Juan did such a great job and tended to our dinner needs. As busy as they were he did a phenomenal job and kept us updated with our food.
As always, the food and the views are unbelievable but the staff is even better. They are just the best.
Food was good.
We went during Restaurant Week. 4 people for dinner, sat on patio. Hostess gave us blankets to use in case we got cold, but heaters kept us comfortable.
Seemed as if they were short on wait staff, as it was difficult to get our waiter and his attention. We had 3 meals come out but there was nothing about the 4th persons dish. I had to flag down waiter and call it to his attention.
Finally, 10 min later the burger was served, all while our dishes got cold as we waited. I truly believe they just didn’t cook it until we asked about where it was.
My salmon dish was good, salmon delicious but sides were scarce. Another’s pasta w broccoli was very greasy. Buddha bowl barely got eaten because it was not hot.
Vegan burger was devoured and enjoyed.
Great place, oceanfront. People so nice. Food is good but small portions, same with beverages. Nice experience.
Great views, food, and service despite the busyness of it being restaurant week!
Everything was great, but even with a reservation we had to wait 20min to be seated.
The Cheesecake was terrible and the service was friendly but very slow.
Beautiful view, good service, good food!
Service was slow, the food was ok, wasn’t bad but wasn’t good, nothing memorable. The view is great as it’s right on the beach.
Great food and beautiful location. A walk on the pier is a great way to end the day
Very, very nice. Everything was the best. Our waitress loved her job and was outstanding. Really nice time. Thanks
Our waiter was stretched to also be bartender so our food was very late in being served. The soup was supposed to be first and then the entree but all arrived together after waiting too too long . I know the waiter was too busy doing both jobs.
Our server Bruno was fantastic and the Sunday brunch is great! If you leave hungry, you only have yourself to blame. :-)
Delicious Cohen food right on the beach in IB! Our brunch experience was perfect!
No question the atmosphere is excellent, right next to a beautiful beach and Pier. The restaurant is also well laid and updated. The service was also very good.
Unfortunately the food was just average. We had 2 appetizers, a salad, and 2 entrees. All missed the mark. Food was overly complex with no direction and all the favors blended together into nothing. Overall, go for the view, not the food.
