Sea Venture Ratings and Reviews
It wasn’t bad. The view was stunning and the service was attentive and kind. Our food was nothing to write home about and was a little over priced for the quality. It was a good date night but the place and food could just use a face lift. Chances are we won’t go back since there are other places we prefer in the area for the cost.
Amazing views, comfortable surroundings, top shelf service and excellent food set this restaurant apart...our server Sam was an expert with the menu and made some superb recommendations...she was very personable and helped to elevate our overall experience...a definitive highlight of our trip down the Pacific Coast:)
Walking in we were not sure, the decor was pretty dark and tired It did not seem like a very nice restaurant. If you arrive before sunset I am sure no one would notice the decor because the views are amazing. The food was excellent. All four of us were really impressed with our meals. We would definitely go back!
This was our second meal at Sea Venture. We ordered exactly the same things, since our first visit six months ago was so exceptional. Unfortunately, we noticed a marked difference in the quality of our meals. The portion sizes were much smaller with less attention to detail. Here’s hoping that exceptional cuisine returns .
I wish this app would have told us that the main menu is not available until 5pm. We would not have made reservations if we had known that. The restaurant needs to put that information on line.
We choose clam chowder off the brunch menu and a salad from the salad menu. They both were ver good. But we missed having a dinner we were expecting for Christmas Eve. It was disappointing.
The restaurant located at the beach. Very nice view. Good service. The person serving us was very patient and tentative.
We had lunch on Sunday. That might be a big mistake. The restaurant only served Sunday brunch. The menu all are breakfast menu. We look at the next table, the serving was huge. Just looked at them, you would lose your appetite. However, if we split the order, the restaurant will charge extra 4 dollars.
We ordered poached egg with chicken and french toast and roast beef sandwich. As we mentioned above. Looked at the plate, already lost our appetite. After we dig in. The chicken was burn, the combination with french toast was not right. The roast beef had so much fat and pile up huge on the top of a open toast with french fries. The lunch was disaster.
We managed to finish the lunch and walked out to enjoy the view, the beach and people.
If you go after the view in the day time, might be this is the place. But not the food.
My wife & I drove down from the Bay Area, we decided not to stop for food until we get to Pismo for dinner. I am so glad we did that, my wife had the clam chowder & I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos to start with. Oh boy were we happily surprised, the chowder was a eye opener. It had a taste that was more savory than I had expected for a chowder, the clams were fresh overall one of the best that we both had eaten. My tacos arrived shortly after giving my wife the green light on her chowder (lol). Theses tacos put a spin on coconut shrimp with a light teriyaki sauce and roasted sesame seeds with avacado, wow you better watch out (my taste buds to my stomach). I was so pleasantly surprised I had to tell my wife to try some before I devioured it. For our main course we ordered the filet migeon and lobster with roasted vegetables. I don’t need to explain this dish, just trust me you will enjoy! The food was awesome, the hotel was great. We loved the location and the beach, it was our first time & definitely won’t be our last. Do yourselves a favor and check out the Sea Venture in Pismo Beach.
The restaurant was a big surprise. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Has very awesome variations of food and it was delicious. The only thing I would say is to get a reservation while there is sunlight so you can enjoy the view.
We were very pleased with our dinner and drinks! Vol-en-vent is amazing! Tequilla Woo Woo....Woo Woo 👍🏼a delightful tequilla non-margarita drink!
Once it's dark you can't see the ocean so, some soft lighting on the beach n ocean would have added to the ambience!
The night started out wonderful, then a Christmas Party came in and they were in another room. But soon the loud group came out and went to the bar. The noise level was terrible and it took forever to gather them up and move them into where there party was taking place. Because of that, I did not enjoy my Birthday dinner. Cory the waiter was very nice, but it did not change the environment. I was so looking forward to dinner. I would think that management would keep these big parties in their area.
We spend the winters in an RV Park in the Pismo area and were happy to find Sea Venture was serving Thanksgiving dinner. We had a table by the window for a beautiful view of the sunset and a wonderfully delicious 3-course dinner. The first and second course options were nicely varied (My husband had seared scallops with prime rib and I had the pumpkin soup with traditional turkey). The 3 mini desserts were a perfect finish. I also liked that they serve 80% local wines, only bringing in non-local wines for specific varietals not available on the Central Coast.
My wife wanted to go to this restaurant for Thanksgiving because it looked liked an elegant restaurant from the photographs and because of this she thought the food would be good and it was on the beach. Big mistake. The only thing that was true about this restaurant was that it is on the beach. This is hardly a good reason to eat here. This restaurant totally ruined my Thanksgiving. The food was absolutely terrible. Everything tasted liked it was from a can or a box, including the turkey. I ate about 1/3 of the dinner and told my wife I was done. The dessert was even worse. No pie of any kind. The advertising was very misleading. It implied 3 desserts including pumpkin pie. What we got were three little tiny containers of pumpkin pie filling with Kool Whip, some jam with a piece of apple and granola and some kind of mocha colored pudding. Horrible. I would say in total, the dessert serving amounted to three tablespoons of something, certainly not food. And for the eating on the beach, we paid over $100 for this mess, with no alcohol. This was just the food bill! I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they just have a real jonesing for prison food.
