Sea Shore Restaurant & Marina
Dinner: Daily: 11:30am - 1:00am
All of my friends did not rave about their lobster dinners. Something was a little off
We ate at this restaurant for Father's Day. This was our first trup to City Island and we weren't dissapointed. The meal was decent with a great view of the sound from our table!
We’ve been going there for years and liking it a great deal. Food was always great and ambience fun and professional service. Something has happened. Resturant is run down, half empty, food almost awful from bread to coleslaw to soggy surf and turf. And the small crowd who was there was unpleasantly raucous. Needs a major make over.
This is where you want to be on a beautiful summer night. Fresh seafood, waterfront views, and live music (I'm guessing on certain nights). Nice sized portions--definitely shareable and I love the huge containers they give you to take your leftovers. Service was fine, but when it's busy your waiter might go missing. Get the tartufo dessert!
My wife and I are regulars here, we go there often because the food is always great. I was ready to leave without eating because the service was so horrendous. Had to sit close to 15 minutes before anyone from the wait staff walked over to the table with a glass of water. The main course arrived, the food runner plopped the plates down without the salad plates being removed, we needed to clean the area ourselves so we could eat comfortably. When I spoke to the manager, his answer was ‘we have many new people’. Good thing the restaurant was quiet that night or we may still be waiting for our check
Took my mom out for Lobster on city Island - What a disappointment. Last time the antipasti was fresh - this time it looked like leftovers- insteadof chunks of parm and roasted peppers - it was old orange cheese and uncooked pepper. The broiled lobster was a bit overdone. Came with salad, mixed veggies, corn and we chose baked potato - these were good. Hope it will get better again
Amazing as always I have been going there since I was a kid
I was disappointed, The restaurant was about half full and the host/hostess
seated us about 2 feet from a table with many very young loud running around children.
They bounced balloons off of us, kept hitting us as they played, the parents did nothing to stop them nor did the restaurant staff.
There were other tables available, even in a different room away from this chaos!!
Came here from Long Island to celebrate my sister's 50th and it was so worth the trip. The staff was wonderful and the food amazing. Can't wait to come back when the weather gets nicer.
We very happy me and my friends for evrething very good and thanks you
Delicious food, excellent service, comfortable seating, cClean bathrooms, very large menu to choose from. And let’s not forget valet parking
We went for my husband’s birthday. Everything was great!
We had a reservation and were given a quiet table in ghe back facing the water. Even had a reservation label on our table. Service was good but not rushed. First time on City Island for one couple and they were impressed.
Amazing and courteous service especially from Tim the manager, Luis our server, and the newly employed bus-boy who helped Luis out on mother's day. You guys made my mother's day that much more enjoyable. Keep up the good work & hope you guys get a promotion soon.
It was a lovely family dinner for Mother’s Day.... Been at the restaurant a few times and I always have a great time.....
We went off season May 11.. First in the door at 11.45.. Food was good All tables get for best description anti-pasta? tray plus fresh bread. We both had the fresh baby lobster tails. Three good sized tails per plate. My only issue was they were cooked with spices on top. I like my sea food plain. The wine was good as was the included desserts. The extra desserts looked scrumptious.
Excellent food and great service ..i ordered the paella its a huge plate filled with so much seafood..The food was delicious. The waiters are fiendly and professional. It was my mother's 75th birthday and she was so pleased..i will come back and recommend it all
We were very satisfied with the overall experience; however, a few minor comments are necessary. I chose to order a seafood dish that was described as “shrimp & scallops with a light lobster sauce”. When it was served to me, I realized it was more of an alfredo sauce because it tasted like it was drenched in butter & cream. I told the waitress who then said she would make an adjustment to the bill & in addition would bring us a container of lobster bisque to take home. Neither of which happened, so we paid the bill & left. My husband was happy with his 2-pound lobster, but I was somewhat disappointed.
Made reservations for 2:30PM on a Saturday and arrived 10 minutes early. We were told we needed to wait about 15 minutes. I was a little confused as at least half the tables were empty. We were asked to wait in the bar area. We ordered a round of drinks and waited, watched the game, very comfortable!! We almost didn't want to leave when they called us.
This place hasn't disappointed us yet, service and food always on point. For the amount of food served, the prices are extremely reasonable. Your going to leave with leftovers, unless you want to be rolled out of there.
Great restaurant...i come alot with friends and family...nice spot...big portions...great seafood..
Drastically Raised the price of the twin lobster.....it’s no longer a great deal........but quite expensive
Another great experience at Sea shore. The seafood and cooking has been reliable over the years. I ordered swordfish and even though they had the Easter menu they were able to simple change to the way I like it. My girlfriend order the crab legs and enjoyed them. She has enjoyed every meal we have ordered since I introduced her to Sea Shore., I commend the Ownership and chefs for keeping up the quality. The waiters and bus boys do a great job and have been attentive. Keep up the great work.
Strongly recommend. Fun atmosphere.
Fair in all aspects Food ok, service ok, atmosphere ok, people friendly. Overpriced.
We always come here for their lobster lunch and it's a large amount of food for a very good value.
The very best seafood in all of New York! Excellent service too! Great for a special occasion!
It is always great food. Was a busy night and crazy delays. No apology for wait though we had a reservation. No free drink or appetizer while we waited. Though we mentioned occasion in resevationit was not acknowledged. No manager came to our table all night, even when it got less busy. Few tables were clearly regulars and got lots of attention though it was busy. Will celebrate next occasion at JP’s around the corner.
Very good restaurant, and the food is amazing .The waiter is friendly and the restaurant is fancy with white tables. I would like a better smell inside the bathroom.
I didn’t receive my drink until I was about to finish up my food and I ordered my drinks and food at the same time. It also took a while for my food to come out , my waiter did not check on me. If it wasn’t for the bussers I would not have received any service at all.
great food and service. super expensive and whoever cooked the steak needs to learn how to flip the steaks so it cooks evenly.
Service was beyond awful, were sitting for over an hour before the server told us that something one of us ordered was not fresh and to make a different choice. It then too over an hour more to get our food
Everything was amazing. I've been coming to Seashore since the 90s.
My family and I weren't able to get together for Christmas, so this was a belated celebration. We had a lovely table by the window and enjoyed delicious fish dinners. The grilled shrimp on my Caesar Salad was the best! The 3 course luncheon is affordably priced, too! Everyone said I picked a perfect location for our gathering. Restaurant was a bit crowded...so only down note was that our service was a bit slow. Other than that, no complaints and will return again.
Thanks, Sea Shore!
While I do love coming here, I was slightly disappointed with the overall experience I had. I was celebrating my wife’s birthday and I’m not too sure why there wasn’t much effort on the part of the staff when I expressed that upon arriving for our reservation. I mean, I do like this place, but I feel they dropped the ball on this one.
Went there Sat, 11/4/17. Their toilet was broken & the entire front of the restaurant smelled like sewer backup. Waitress Maria was terrible. Our food took 2hrs to come out. Everyone that arrived after us left before us. Then food came out cold. This place used to be decent. Staff needs to be retrained. Front check-in Manager (Older Female) is very rude. Go elsewhere!
Great selection. Food was very good.
My annual luncheon at the Sea Shore with 5 friends who I've known for over
50 years (!!) was great (as usual)... They seated us by the window overlooking the water, and let us stay as long as we liked. We enjoyed lively conversation & lots of laughs, complemented by our delicious 3 course meals & the great ambiance.
Keith, our waiter, was attentive & friendly and made our visit that much more enjoyable.
Thank you , Sea Shore, for being the perfect setting for our group's reunion each year.
We'll be back again next year for sure! And, my husband and I are planning on coming for lunch sometime soon. :-)
Not much going on in City Island food-wise, so I suppose this was as good as the next place. We sat outside for lunch on a warm October Sunday afternoon. The lunch came with a house salad which was fine, and had a little cup of tiny shrimp, which decided looked dubious. We had lobster rolls which were fine. But just fine, nothing memorable or exceptional.
Delicious! Get the shellfish feast will not be disappointed
I had the scallops and jumbo shrimp fry combo which was excellently prepared though I got fries insted of the baked potato I ordered. Wife and daughter had shrimp over pasta dishes which may have been outside their area of expertise. Stick to the Seafood entrees and be happy is my advice.
