The service and food was excellent the only disappointment was I ordered my dessert and there was no coffee how hard is it to put a pot of coffee on, I also wanted balsamic vinegar which the waiter had a difficulty finding.

My experience at the Sea Shore restaurant was not great. We were given a hot antipasto that was saturated in oil. The manager came over to try and tell us why the dish had so much oil. There is no excuse for that mistake. Then the main course was seafood marinara over linguine but the sauce was burnt and it tasted like it came from a jar. Unacceptable and I don’t recommend it at all.

This was quite a disappointment. My 2 friends & I went last night for dinner and. They asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor dining. We thought outdoor would be nice being on the marina & it was...except for the annoying yellow jackets that were around us-no ones fault. We ordered 3 martinis to start which arrived warm, not chilled. We ordered shrimp cocktail & oysters casino. The shrimp came out first & then we waited a long while for the oysters. So some of us ate some shrimp&some of us waited. They should've been served together. I ordered jambalaya which was a big portion & tasted ok but not enough seasoning. It was more of a zuppa di pesce (seafood in tomato sauce) than jambalaya. There were DEFINITELY no creole/cajun flavors at all. I wasn't given a bowl for the shells, no shell cracker for the crab legs, no extra napkins. I had to wait for the waiter to come back&asked for all that. I got a stack of napkins but could've used a wet wipe for this messy, saucy dish. A wet wipe would be typical for this type of dish. One friend ordered branzino in cajun/creole spices which was also bland, lacked spices & salt. My other friend ordered area base with sun-dried tomatoes & spinach. What she ended up with looked more like a swordfish steak with seasonings on it. They both got vegetable which were mushy & bland. We had to ask for water refills several times before they did it. We ordered coffee & a dessert to share. The coffee came out & we waited for the dessert. We finished our coffee before the dessert arrived. They brought another cup "free of charge". Overall the service was awful & the food was just ok. We paid a lot for a below average experience. This was very disappointing as I've been there other times in the main dining room & had a much better experience. I don't know if the outdoor dining is too far from the kitchen & bar or what the problem was but it was terrible & it was reflected in our tip. We felt forgotten.

Our order got mixed up- no salad until we asked after we got our entrees. Ordered pasta got a potato. Ordered an appetizer that never arrived. We always eat here so we know this was an aberration but still, on this holiday, it marred our experience.

We had a lovely birthday celebration luncheon. Although the menu is pricey, you get your money’s worth. And the views are wonderful. Our server, Marcelo was friendly, professional and very helpful. The entire staff was lovely and made our meal extra nice. I would recommend going during the lunch special, it’s a really good value with dessert and coffee included.

Came back yo sea shore after being so good the previous week. Tonight might of been better. We had New England clam chowder and baked clams oregenata which were great. The dinner we had 3 1/2. - 3 3/4 pound lobster They were delicious. So tasty. Our server Felix was superb he was attentive and friendly A great night

The bread and the salad are excellent. The cocktails were well mixed. The oysters were fresh. Most of us ordered lobsters, except one who ordered shrimps. All dishes were prepared very well. One big attraction of the restaurant is the view of the Long Island Sound. The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime. So the servers were a little harried. Overall, the service was courteous and pleasant. Sea Shore is our go to place for taking visitors and for family celebrations.

Love Sea Shore. Food dependably good and good portions. I had small lobster. Very good. We were in early so service a bit slow but responsive. Always a go to when we go to the Mets.

We waited a long time for the waiter to approach our table. Large groups that came in after us got served first, ate and left before us. The waiter kept forgetting what we ordered. I had to wait a long time for lemon to put in my water. However when we got to the restaurant the person who was at the front lead us to a sitting area and got us drinks. She was very nice and the server from the bar was very nice and accommodating.

We are from Long Island and our friends are from NJ…we are always looking for a halfway point for get togethers on short notice. City Island was the perfect place…one bridge for them and one bridge for us!! Sea Shore was perfect. Relaxed atmosphere. We were able to hear each other speak! …excellent service AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT!! We will definitely return!!

Sadly I think this restaurant is declining. I’ve eaten here dozens of times and it’s just not the same level of service. We were just their for a New Years Eve dinner and a simple thing of writing down our order could have prevented half of the mistakes. Why do some servers think there so good cause they can remember your order but if the forget one thing the customer now has to wait another 15 to 20 minutes longer to get the corrected order. I’m paying too dollar for low service. With so many dinner options at City Island they have now lost a future patron.

We grew up in the Bronx and haven’t been to City Island in over 30 years. We were there to celebrate my Husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary of 31 years wit 2 great fiends. We couldn’t have picked a better place and the weather was perfect.

I love sitting outside at the railing overlooking the water. The food is good though rather expensive. You are paying for the view! Service is spotty. Sometimes excellent; sometimes okay.
