Excellent atmosphere, food and people! Highly recommended.
Poor service over and over again. Waited for 30 minutes to the waitresses surprise there we were! She never came through all night . A beautiful setting nothing special to taste and service is everything.
Setting was beautiful right near the beach. Had the early bird dinner special which included desert which was out of this world delicious. Definitely going back.
Very hot, bordering on almost unbearable. Service and value fine.
Can’t beat the location but beware of many, many stairs. Quite hot- could use fans at least. Essentially a 2 star diner with 5 star prices. Service ok but not very warm or welcoming. Food just ok. Beware “early bird” specials mean tiny serving size for only a few dollars less.
Waitress thought she was my mother rearranging silverware for me, putting steak knife off Matt onto bread plate, moving bread plate further away. I felt like she was correcting my table manners.
Nice place to dine and watch the sunset. Coconut shrimp was yummy! Basil Pesto Crusted Hawaiian Fish was really good.
We got there at 530 and had the early bird dinner and could not be more pleased with the ambiance, service, and food. We could not have been happier.
Unbelievable food - the quality was great & all fresh! Service was very fast and friendly. Slightly more casual ambiance with the same quality of five star restaraunts. We will most certainly be back!
This patio has one of the best views at Sunset in Maui! It's such a beautiful setting and not as crowded as Lahaina. I had the special fish dinner which came with salad and dessert - delicious and a good value. My husband had the ribeye and it was awesome!
Worth the view and watching the sunset. Wasn't expecting much since it's a hotel restaurant and having come from merrimans the night before we didn't have high hopes. But the food was excellent and they gave us a complimentary dessert for our honeymoon. Service was so so and they don't open until 5:30 so we and many other couples waited around a bit to get in for front row seating on the beach.
Usually an excellent experience, this was an off night. Server obviously had too many tables, the hostess crew was clueless in how to keep waiting guests informed as to wait times. Reservations seemed to be worthless. Live entertainer sounded as if he had one song, filling the restaurant with a repeating, droning attempt at Hawaiian ambience. Add in a couple of guests who couldn’t handle the wait time and expressed their displeasure to all within earshot...and you get the picture. Go later rather than earlier for a smoother experience, like 7:30 vs. 7:00
The restaurant is literally on the beach! Inside by the open window you are in a shade most of the day and in front of you the ocean and the beach. In the evening it's a place to watch the sunset. Food is very good, nothing too extravagant but high quality, and reasonably priced. I would not recommend prix-fixe menu, because portions are too small.
Dinner is a typical, standard menu, with little creative dishes, like the happy hour menu. I wish the chef would just extend his more creative happy hour menu to dinner, rather than revert to standard surf & turf mainland dishes for the mainland tourists.
Overall it was good, but I would say my few issues with this restaurant were the cleanliness could improve, and it was quite loud and lacking in ambience. Our drinks were good. Our food was good but not great. I would recommend if you are looking for a more casual dining experience. If you are looking for quiet, romantic vibes than this place is not for you! It’s great for larger parties, and families.
Great food !
Hot even at a window table!
First dined here during our honeymoon. Still a beautiful location with amazing ambience. That being said, I would not come here unless I was staying on the property. First the service was not up to par, the server seemed distracted and disappeared for long periods of time. Got to the point that I timed how long it took from the time we asked for the check until we received it- 14 minutes!.
The my Greek Salad was quite tasty, but the surf and turf tasted as if they were purchased from Walmart.
My wife and I dined at Sea House restaurant for our one year wedding anniversary and left a note on Open Table about it. Unfortunately there was no mention of our anniversary by the hostess and the waitress did not ask. Waitress ended up being OK overall, so I gave 2 stars. Spoke with the hostess about it after the meal and she was full of excuses. We had high expectations for this meal and did not end up having a great experience.
Always outstanding food, service and ambiance at the Sea House Restaurant!
One of our all-time Maui favorites!
It was everything our friends had raved about👍
Beautiful view and great food. My favorite place to eat on the island of Maui.
We had an amazing time! Our two children (7 & 8) also joined us and they also had a great time and thought the food, service and
Absolutely shocking, food was cold, green beans not even cooked. Couldn’t wait to get out
Best meal we have had in Maui yet(and we have eaten at some nice places). We came for dinner on Monday night. Had the truffle ravioli and pesto crusted fish dish. I don’t leave reviews (I think this is my first!) but considering we came to the restaurant under the impression it would be a great atmosphere but sub par food (based off other recent reviews).. I felt the need to pass on our delicious experience at dinner. Compliments to the chef.
Great table, excellent view. Excellent meals and fantastic service. Thanks to John.
Onion soup and salads were delicious. Chicken parm and fish dishes were also very good. Pasta dish was ok. Servers were not the happiest people. Views were lovely.
Came for the food and for the sunset. Except I got a seat staring straight into the west! Pretty bad for about 15 minutes. Everything else was wonderful!.
First time here and heard a lot of great reviews. The Sea House is old and it seems that most patrons are regulars. We started with drinks at the bar. I have to say this might be the best place on the island to watch a sunset. Last nights was spectacular! Back to the bar...there were two bar tenders that had no personality at all. Took a while for either of them to even notice us at a half empty bar. Drinks were good, though. When we were called to be seated for dinner, we were given a front row table for the sunset. Again, I’ve been coming to the island for years and this might be one of the best places to see a sun set. Service was great so no complaints there. I do have to say the food that I heard so much about was tasteless. I had the macadamia encrusted mahi-mahi over rice with string beans. Although a generous portion it was totally tasteless. It was flat. Not even worth eating. The rice and the sauce were the same. String beans were a little over cooked for my preference but edible. If I were to try it again I would probably try a steak. For Maui, the prices were very reasonable so I guess you get what you pay for.
It is arguably the best location /views on the island. With that said, everything else is looking tired. The restaurant, service and food need a makeover. The views and location salvaged the meal- without the views, this is a “pass”
Server was outstanding. View of the sunset was amazing from this beachfront restaurant. Portions were large and food was excellent.
Great food. Good drinks. Fantastic atmosphere and stunning ocean views.
Our server was Lynda with her trainee April. It was a wonderful experience with Lynda being a seasoned server with great attitude and passion. April will become a valued employee for sure. Meal was fabulous and sunset was, well the prettiest one we had while in Maui. The prices were very reasonable for this quality of food and service. A definite MUST while here!
We very much enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and look forward to returning several times before we leave the island! I put the value at a 4 as it would be nice to have a soup or salad included in the price of the entree’ instead of ala carte!
Server not excited about working there. Food was mediocre. View was amazing!
Perfect location, perfect sunset view, great food, poor waitstaff training
food choices were excellent server explained choices clearly and fully
very enjoyable evening
Great view of the Ocean and Bay, the food was great and the service was perfect.
Birthday and our waitress couldn’t have been cuter. So energetic for all four foot one of her. Poke tacos, spinach salad and monchong delicious. Going back
Our last night in Maui with friends. The Sea House was strongly suggested by two friends who are “discerning diners.”
We found the food amazing and very reasonable (if there are reasonable prices to be found in Maui.) The seafood was nicely prepared and generous in portions.
The service was uninspired. Not terrible; just not great.
A beautiful setting on the water. I’d highly recommend getting there in time for sunset and reserving a seaside table.
Had a lovely dinner on the patio overlooking the gorgeous Napili Bay... Sea House always guarantees a great meal, good service and bar none the best dining view!
