I live and work outside NYC and eat at Seafire at least 10 times per year. It is my go to place in the city. Whether it's your first time or 50th visit, Managers Lawrence and Alex always treat you like family. Great for those who love steak and for those who prefer fish. Everyone in your party will be pleased at Seafire.
It was for the new year dinner! we need to wait 20 mins but they invited us to the bar where incredible cocktails were prepared. The ambient is cozi en the main room have a chimeney, the waiters are very kind , the service is outstanding for NY, efficient, quick always asking if you need something more, many waiters coming around.
The wine we asked for a Cunë was out of existency , we change to a White wine it was really good.
They gave us hats, , necklace and diademas for the new year, only I miss the down count! if someone could do it It will ne perfect.
The Rockefeller Oyster were delicious ! The chill lobster excelent (only al will put special mayo, or and aioli; not simple mayo and cátsup for a lobster) and a glass of champagne as courtesy

Went there for the first time for New Year’s Eve. Really nice restaurant. Noise level can be high tables to close to each other the food really good the Lobster Mac and cheese to die for the tune very good my salmon was very salty and very dry. that was the only bad thing about the food The white fish sauce with the bread. Amazing. This restaurant can be good for business dinners. Birthdays. Special occasions Very fancy. Oooh and if u go there make sure you have money lol. The check can be pretty high
Sea Fire Grille is a solid standby. The food is a bit overpriced for what it is (particularly the appetizers), but overall service is stellar and the experience is well worth it. With that being said, it's probably best saved for special occassions. I highly recommend the tartare trio and the blackened Montauk swordfish! If you're looking for a solid side, go with the brussel sprouts with marcona almonds-- they're some of the best in the city. Skip over the beet or bibb salads-- they're small and not worth the money.
Went for lunch of Christmas Day. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is outstanding. Our appetizers were excellent. Main courses were overcooked (rare tuna was nearly well done) and dry. Salmon was almost tasteless. Side dishes were underwhelming. The cheesecake for dessert was quite good. Overall a mixed experience. Given the options in NYC, I probably wouldn't give it a second chance because it was the least satisfying holiday meal we enjoyed at the greatest expense.
Our family of four were there on Christmas Eve for the feast of the seven fishes. My husband wanted to order from the regular menu. Each dish that was brought out was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce on the halibut was amazing. I actually caught my son licking his plate.....publicly in this fine restaurant. My eyes popped out and I brought it to his attention we were in public and he said " what, it's a compliment to the chef"!!
The restaurant was packed, but the servers were attentive and we never had to wait. The courses were spaced well so we did not feel rushed. It was a great dinner experience all four of us enjoyed our meal.
My wife and I were staying at the Lexington and the concierge recommended eating here. From the minute we walked in the service was superb. We’ve travelled all over the world and the sea Fire Grill is up their with the best of them. Made the trip over from Australia worthwhile!!!
The food was consistently excellent across each course. Wait staff was very attentive and relatively quiet ambiance with soft lighting. Overall a terrific evening and dining experience. Only constructive criticism - seating in center of restaurant great for two couples, but tables too close together for two unaffiliated parties of two. Also, temperature in diningroom was at least 75 degrees, which may have been influenced by the unseasonably warm outside (50 degree) temperature.
The food was excellent and fresh. We had the bass and the salmon. Really good. The veggies we're good too.. I have had better seafood, I am from an Island so that goes without saying, but they produce what they promise.
Kids had Mac and cheese and fries. The fries were great.
Service from the time you enter till you leave is good. The waiter could have taken it a bit easier, but overall no complaints.
I will not be rushing back but satisfied overall.
OMG! By far the best seafood in town. I highly recommend the lobster bisque to start. I had the grilled bass and hubby had halibut. Absolutely delish. The brussel sprouts were awesome! Our waiter, Lenny, was great! All staff was polite.

Based on reviews we decided to try out the Sea Fire. What a wonderful find. The bar area was intimate. We sat waiting for our family while enjoying a drink and homemade potato chips. We were off to see a broadway show so had no time for appetizers. We had entrees which were all yummy. The service was outstanding; attentive without being disruptive. Very professional. The food is pricey but it’s New York. I look forward to going back again when we have more time to fully enjoy our meals.
Excellent food, great service, but management apparently prefers large, loud no-class groups spending the boss' Christmas money over maintaining an air of sophistication. Too bad as I'll bet those drunks won't be back because they can't afford to dine here on their own, and we won't be back even though we can.
The front staff at Sea Fire Grill was helpful, pleasant and accommodating. The waitstaff were pleasant and efficient (w/o rushing us!). Everyone enjoyed his/her meal (Salmon with black rice, Chateaubriand for two). The pear salad special was exceptionally good.
