Had family in town and decided to go here as I have been here several times. Great dining experience nestled in historic Georgetown, sea food was fresh, appetizers were plenty and service was very professional. A must dine for anyone who is interested in D.C.'S finest seafood.

Wonderful new years eve dinner. The food was excellent as was the staff as usual, manager ryan, jesus bartender. The atmosphere was comfortable, not loud, no one spilling drinks on us, not crowded. Always so warm & welcoming to us when we are visiting from PA! Thanks for a great new years eve! Highly enjoyed it, we are still talking about it!

We ordered scallop and rockfish entrees and rainbow trout. The scallop and rockfish entrees were amazing. The scallop sauce went perfectly with the scallops and the asparagus that came with the dish was perfectly grilled. The rockfish was not chewy and grilled to perfection. We also ordered side of mushrooms which were perfectly sautéed. The trout was really salty. The sauce that came with it was also salty. The oysters were good and only $1 during happy hour.

This a very ordinary restaurant in every aspect. The food is just a littler better than Captain D's. The atmosphere is dull and the service was asleep.
I would not go back here.

The food at this restaurant is very underwhelming especially for the price of the food and the quality you get. My crab legs were $40 and they came with butter that tasted burnt. The meat itself was flavorless- usually Alaskan King Crab Legs are sweet and flavorful. The prices are crazy big-- almost $200 for a meal for two people with two glasses of wine and a dessert wine. Would not recommend.

Food was bland. Ordered seafood fettuccine it was suppose to have shrimp, crab, and scallops. Entree came to table with only shrimp.

Fun little place with great food. Quiet ambiance for a date or conversation without being boring. Reasonable wine list for the average diner.

Noise was the only problem. We asked for a quiet table, we were seated in a room with party of 14, 5 being under 7 years old. Quiet, I don't think so. The group left after 40 minutes but by then the evening was toast

My lobster roll was made of frozen lobster ( part of it still was) and was completely doused in mayonnaise. The expensive crab legs were also frozen. The service was alright because no one else was there. This may have been a great restaurants once but no more.

Honestly, we were very disappointed. We've come to Sea Catch before for special celebrations and were always extremely pleased. However, this time it was not good from the get-go. We sat at the bar before dinner and had to flag down the bartender multiple times to get drinks and appetizers. We requested a table next to the fireplace but when seated were shown a table stuck between two other tables when the room was half empty. We asked to move to another table that was by the fire and were told we could not because it was reserved. No one EVER sat there the rest of the night and the room was only half full. Instead we were smashed between two other couples dining. When we ordered, the food took more than 40 minutes to arrive and my husband ordered King Crab legs -- one of the reason we came to Sea Catch. We were informed 20 minutes after ordering that they were out of crab legs. So my husband ordered the lobster. When the food arrived, half of the lobster was over cooked and dry. It was a lot of money for a dining experience that was sub-par. I don't think we will be returning.

From all the good reviews we were eager to try this restaurant in Georgetown. Visiting in the area. Party of 4.
Positives: nice ambiance, comfortable seating, great location. Wait staff very attentive and courteous.
The oysters were very good. But don't have to do much ... just open them.
Negatives: Took very long time for food from the appetizers to main course. Main course took so long the waitress kept apologizing. WAY WAY overpriced for the taste and quality. I don't mind paying high prices for good food especially seafood. But this was plain and ordinary. The fried calamari appetizer had marinara sauce on it already ? so by the time got to us the crust was soggy. Shrimp scampi dry pasta , no flavor, and dull, sauce bland. Twin lobster tails dry dry dry and rough, over cooked. Seafood medley no flavor, plain scallops undercooked. I had better seafood at a local Dinner. Desert was awful. Stale dry chocolate cake and cheesecake something tasted off. Not good.
We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Plenty other choices in other for dining. Terrible. Overrated. Will not be back.

There was a mouse running along the floor. It then hid under the table next to us. The waiter just said that this happens because they are along the canal and did nothing!

Restaurant had very good ambiance. Usher who showed me to the table was unprofessional, but waitress was professional and accommodating in my requests. The menu can be misleading, as the "colossal shrimp cock tail" is smaller than at other restaurants. Only 3 shrimp were provided, and from my experience that is a very small amount of shrimp. As I was dining with my girlfriend, 3 is hardly a number of food items good for sharing. The shrimp were also overcooked. The food wasn't particularly special, better could be found elsewhere.

The food was fantastic, the service was stellar, the atmosphere relaxing! The lobster gnocchi melted in my mouth - heavenly! The lobster mac and cheese was brimming with lobster and baked to perfection. Plan on visiting again on my next trip to DC. Highly recommend Sea Catch!

It may have been a bad night. Good point #1 is the valet parking -- an awesome three hours free with validation. #2 the Fish and Chips are light and wonderful. #3 The deck is beautiful for a summer evening meal.
Bad point #1 My friend ordered a 2lb lobster and got a 1 1/2 pounder. Worse, it tasted frozen. Mind you he had been eating lobster on Martha's Vineyard the previous three days. But, he was very disappointed.

Good meal - not extraordinary. Excellent service. Very nice decor - woody and warm but a bit loud. Very close to Blues Alley so great for pre-show meal.
