The food was fresh, tasty and amazing. The fish we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection. The garnishes were a compliment to all the dishes that brough the level of taste new heights. The greens were fresh and perfectly balanced. I can not recommend this restaurant enough.

Service is super friendly and the Belgian chef and owner always comes up with brilliant suggestions. You eat amazingly well (their fresh catch of the day is a must) and the bill remains within reason.

I used Open Table to reserve a table at Scutra Restaurant in Arlington MA for dinner this week. My expectations were relatively low, but the location was central to our group . I was meeting two of my college roommates from out of state. All three of us were blown away by the quality of and care put into both the food and drinks which were outstanding. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, attentive and flexible. The menu was interesting and diverse. The eel appetizer and duck entrée were particularly amazing. I will be returning to Scutra sooner than later and will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and relatives.

Relatively small place. In a corner off the bike trail in Arlington. Full bar. Tables well laid out. Some famililes some young adults, some older adults. Loved the spinach/warm raspberry dressing. The raviolis my spouse said were great and the porkchop with a wild rice risottos also goor.

Although there was some "over-reach" in some of the dishes (too many ingredients) for the most part, the meal was flavorful, satisfying, well-prepared and presented. The mussels and the goat cheese tower were particularly good. The risotto was a bit too rich, but the meatloaf of all things was very good.

Been to Scutra several times and have always been very satisfied with the food and service, but this last visit (on a Friday in prime time) the restaurant truly went above and beyond:
(1) I called at the last minute and asked to change the timing of our reservation as one member of the party was caught in traffic. The restaurant, which turned out to be very busy that evening, accommodated. (2) When one of the specials for the evening was sold out, the restaurant again stepped up and turned an appetizer into the focal point of a very tasty entree dish. Both of these actions were in response to simple queries of the "would it be possible" sort and both were done without hesitation or irritation. The food and service were, as usual, excellent. The noise level was very energetic given the full house and holiday spirit, but we were able to converse and even linger over our meal. Thank you Scutra for your flexibility and a most enjoyable evening.

We have gone to Scutra maybe 6-7 times over the years, sometimes with friends. For some reason, it always surprises us how good it is. By now we should expect it, but because of its reasonable prices we always think our very good meal was a fluke. This time was no exception. They also have special weekday deals that are an even better value, such as the one my husband had. My coconut breaded shrimp were good, probably the weakest thing we ate. But the whole branzino I had for my main was outstanding. The fish melted in my mouth, and vegetables underneath deliciously absorbed the seasonings from the fish. My husband had a strudel of salmon, goat cheese and spinach for an appetizer that was unique and delicious. His swordfish main was cooked perfectly with wonderful flavors. Even the bread and olive oil we had while deciding what to order was a nice improvement over the previous tapenade. Don't let the location next to an insurance agency dissuade you from expecting fine dining. This is really good food at a reasonable price. Great if you live in the area.

The small place is surprisingly larger on the inside. Tonight they had a two course special for $24.95. I got the warm spinach salad and the swordfish. The food and flavors all worked well together! The drawback was two baby carrots and a small portion of wild rice and squash. I am guessing the starch size was around a half cup. The meal felt healthy and fresh. The people kept coming in tonight!

I really liked my experience here. Price is roughly $25 per plate. The atmosphere was nice. and the waitstaff were kind and obviously loved what they do. The food was different and innovative, but they executed well and it was a fun night trying new things. Obvious that a creative chef is developing the menu here.

Chef Didi is creative and we always feel as the meal was made just for us. However this night it really was! They offered a fresh whole snapper and we shared a large fish - Chef came out to let us know it was taking a little longer due to the size. Well a short wait did not disappoint - we felt as if we were on a Caribbean island! The food and personal service here are always phenomenal with Louie as our server/bartender extraordinaire. If you have not tried Scutra - go there now!

Scutra is one of my favorite restaurants. Not only is the food really, really good, the staff is extremely personable and friendly. Chef Didier is Belgian French and worked in several well-known restaurants before he and his wife opened his own restaurant in this hidden corner of Arlington.

Scutra is rarely empty, even when the other fine dining restaurants in Arlington are lagging, because of the consistent quality of the food, the beautiful presentation, the creativity of the dishes, the fresh and local ingredients, and the range of dining options--from gourmet burgers and pizzas to beautifully presented fish, vegetable, and meat entrees.

Scutra is a pleasant place to sit and linger over a meal, carry on a conversation with the staff, sip a great glass of wine, and anticipate a delightful house-made dessert. There is a single TV screen over the bar, in this day and age where many restaurants surround you with them.

The real stars of the show are the staff, who know their customers by name and guide diners in the right direction, with lots of personal attention. They know the food and the wine choices, and love what they do.

I am especially fond of the two-course specials on Thursday nights. For $24.99, you can select an appetizer and an entree, as good as anything else on the menu. You usually have a choice of two or three appetizers, and two or three entrees, and the choices change every week.

When we first walked in, there was distinct, unpleasant odor. It was throughout the restaurant and we almost walked out. It smelled like fish marinated in ammonia. After having a drink at the bar, the smell dissipated and we stayed.
The appetizers were very small, though quite tasty. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and dessert was shared even by those who thought they were too full. Good wine selection and cocktails were well proportioned.
We'll give it another go when in the neighborhood.

We went to Scutra on a Friday night with reservations. We were seated immediately. Although the restaurant wasn't completely full when we arrived but was full by the time we left at 7:30 or so. We received our water shortly after arriving. However, it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come by to take our drink orders and tell us the specials. My husband and I both ordered cocktails. We decided to split an appetizer. We both ordered salads, we split an entree and intended to order dessert and coffee at the end of the meal. All the food was wonderful. The shrimp scampi risotto was particularly good. Our waitress never offered dessert or coffee. A different person simply handed us the check after the dishes were cleared from the main course. We never saw our waitress again. We decided to just pay it and eat dessert elsewhere.

The menus offers a nicely balanced combination of reliable favorites and interesting specials that, without being weird, often combine flavors that you wouldn't expect into something innovative and delicious. Also, Scutra may have the nicest wait staff of any restaurant in the Belmont, Cambridge, Arlington, Lexington (etc.) area. They're not just well informed and efficient, they're witty, fun and seem to enjoy what they do.

Scutra is a hidden gem in Arlington. Because it's not on Mass Ave it doesn't get as much love as places like Tryst or Flora but the food here is as good if not better than those locations. Because it's out of the way it's much less crowded as well. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out with friends or family.

Scutra has been going downhill for some time. But ambiance is nice and staff generally as well. Knowing this, I decided to play safe with a burger as did my friend. I mean, what could go wrong?

The burger I had was eminently forgetable with tasteless bun, iceberg lettuce, but decent tomato. Fries seemed microwaved. Appetizer was meh as was my drink. Worse, server was frequently confused (new to resto?). Charged us for a drink we did not order. Usually servers knock themselves out with apologies when these things are pointed out. Barely got one.

Scutra was better before it got discovered.

My wife and I celebrated our 26th anniversary and had a lovely time. We had been there many years ago, when it was smaller, and we enjoyed the expansion. Our meals make Scutra worth returning. We think the large TV was unnecessary, and the music was too disco for our taste, but we are democratic. I manage an online website and will be publishing a review soon written by my regular reviewer (not I).

It was a pleasant surprise finding this restaurant just a few minutes from home. I ordered the Olives Stuffed Meat Balls-Sweet Italian Sausage Stuffing and Feta Cheese which were quite good while my wife had a special appetizer strudel which she really enjoyed. We both went with dinner specials: Pan seared Swordfish and a wrapped veal scaloppine which tempted us off of the menu choices. She had a apple crisp with gelato while I enjoy two mini cannoli's . A bottle of Bella Christina, Pinot Grigio was enjoyed. The waitress was very nice and described the specials to the T. We will definitely come back.
