Excellent service, food, drinks and atmosphere. It was busy, yet the pace of our meal was great and the birthday dessert was super sweet (no pun intended). Would go again.
Went on a day when a special menu was offered for Screaming Tuna's anniversary. It was a Sunday, so we were expecting it to be busy as always, which it was. No worries there, server was very polite and kind. I would have appreciated the knowledge of what exactly I was ordering when we decided to try the Screamer Roulette sushi roll though. There was no description given, so we just assumed it was like a chefs choice type thing. Was NOT expecting one of the pieces to be filled with wasabi...I actually had to spit that piece out on my plate, with tears in my eyes. Pretty embarrassing and awkward. Other than that, it was a great visit and we'll definitely be back again.
I was pretty disappointed. This was my first time visiting. I went with two friends. One of the orders was vegan. All of the food took 45 minutes to get out to our table. They said the wait took so long because they had to make the mushrooms vegan. It was extremely loud and we were sat right next to the bathroom door, which brought a draft of wind and made it cold. My food was fine, nothing special. I don’t think I would come back. The server was okay, he didn’t check in on us much and took five minutes to get our order.
Last minute dinner choice on a weekend away. Pleasantly surprised. Sushi was super fresh and flavorful. Service was spot on as well. Will certainly return on our next visit to Milwaukee.
We had a reservation and still were seated at a table right underneath a powerful AC duct blowing right at us. The waitress said she is familiar with the issue and that there’s nothing that can be done. We asked to turn it down and the restaurant turned it lower for about 30 seconds, then we were informed that it has to be on full blast.
We were extremely uncomfortable. How can a restaurant knowingly seat people where the AC is blowing right at them and their food? No food is worth that experience.
We love Screaming Tuna!!! My children love the chicken rolls and edamame. We love everything! Had a great waiter and we love the river view!!!
second time was as good as the first. Great sushi, and the wakame salad was the best i've had. excellent anniversary specials right now! fantastic drinks and service as well, a must go place when in Milwaukee.
Wanted to cram our mouthes with tasty rolls. The Riesling was delicious. Felt rushed to get out after 10. Overall great
Had another great experience at Tuna! Great service and even better cuisine. Love the new garden tini!
Love this place. Best service, atmosphere and food!
Nice dining room and bar area, the views of the river are impressive. I don’t like the lighting and imagine I would hate this place at night. However I was here in the daylight hours so I wasn’t bothered.
I love, love, LOVE this place. I don't eat Sushi anywhere else in Milwaukee, it's just not worth it. Parking around here is a bit of nuisance, but worth the block or two walk. They make their own soy sauce (yum! - that's why it's in a sake bottle, not a soy sauce bottle), the chef is super creative with flavors and textures - all the small plates a worth the food tour, and their classic dishes are current, yet a lovely homage.
Screaming Tuna is sweet little spot on the River AND, I just learned, that if you're a group of 4 or more, take your receipt to the Tiki bar just up river - first round is compliments of Screaming Tuna!
Colorful and fresh sushi. Loved the low sodium soy sauce too. Wonderful wait staff!
Excellent experience! Sushi was delicious. Crab Rangoon was outstanding. We'll be back.
Wonderful date day stop! The waitress was wonderful and very knowlegable about the food and referred us to try the Sushi for 2 platter. Amazing! Great place, great food, great view. My only complaint was that they were out of Founders Green Zebra, which my husband and I love.
Long wait for food. Although, the server gave us a discount to make up for it.
Fantastic sushi, and the chef's choice option is very fun and unique, but my date and I waited an hour for our food (only got 3 rolls and some nigiri), and the restaurant wasn't completely full.
So happy about the large vegan sushi options! The tomato tuna is the best!
The food was over priced for what you got, was not cooked to order. The service was fair at best....The fish was way over cooked and tough. The filet was like eating leather.....First and last time I will ever eat here.....
Screaming Tuna’s quality of food and service has certainly gone down. The negri sushi is just not as flavorful as a few months ago. The wait time is very long when the restaurant is about two-thirds full. The waitress does not return to the table. The inside is quite loud. Overall you can do far better at several other sushi restaurants not far away.
Waiter Austin was a blast. Great service
Awesome service. Our sushi rolls were taking longer than expected, therefore we got a free app in exhange, without prompt! Loved the app and the rolls.
Parking is limited so most likely you will need to park on the street and have a 2 hour limit for the spot, but overall great time.
Hostess was friendly & inviting. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu & she made us feel as if she was our private server.
We walked in and were hit in the face with a very strong fish smell. We were seated right away but it was 20 minutes before someone took a drink order and another 15 minutes for the actual drinks. The sushi was falling apart. Milwaukee has too many restaurants to go back.
The food was very good, and the location is really nice, right on the river. Our services was OK, didn't offer new drinks when taking the empties, was pretty slow/the flow of the service was awkward. The inside somewhat in disrepair--walls were scuffed and peeling paint. We also had fruit flies by our table, which I think came along with the fruit in our drinks from the bar. It wasn't the best, wasn't the worst.
Fun atmosphere and good food! I always recommend sitting at the bar at a sushi place! We went with a couple that was "new to sushi" so the waiter gave us some great suggestions - but that meant we had to move into a private room. We were also there for a birthday and the brought out tempura fried bananas! YUM!
I would rate the food as mediocre -Her service very nice but took for ever to get her food drinks order etc. no free refills on the soft drinks didn’t think anybody did that anymore and prices are a little bit over the top Had much better for less the price
We stayed in a downtown hotel, purposely to within walking distance of The Third Ward. What a fun and safe area. We walked to the restaurant, got there about 15 minutes early and were seated immediately at the sushi bar. It was a fun experience to see the terrific job the folks back there do creating our rolls. Energetic, efficient...impressive.
It is located right next to the river and we were seated next to the window so we had a beautiful view to look at. The Wontons were delicious. The sushi, however, was very small and bland. It didnt taste like authentic sushi at all, it was just missing all of its flavor. They told me when I got there that it’s meant to be a small plates kind of place so you’re meant to get about 2-3 rolls per person. That seems a little excessive when I can go to an authentic sushi restaurant and get 3 rolls + feel full. Definitely not a place I would go back to but it does have a good ambience and nice decor. Just not worth the money
Screaming tuna had a nice ambiance and it had a relaxed feeling. It was right on the water for a nice view. The sushi was good although a bit over priced for what you get. Sake was delicious and they had a good selection for drinks and different rolls.
Great sushi. Service okay today. Great all around.
Dinner took a little long to come out, but they bought our drinks which was very nice. Our server was very kind and helpful in choosing our drinks. Overall a good experience! Plan on visiting again when we are in the area!
Our experience was good but not great. The interior of the restaurant seemed like a hotel bar/restaurant. It was modern but not unique. We had to wait a long time for our sushi, longer than other sushi restaurants that we've been to. The drink and food menu were limited. Our bartender and server were both really nice and very attentive.
We got some great seats overlooking the water. The sushi was great and the beer selection was good as well. I would definitely go again.
As always, the food never disappoints! Our server was prompt and checked in often. Made a reservation and needed to wait a little while; Only open seat was at sushi bar and I'm not a huge fan of the tall chairs and not-so-easy way to have conversation with my friend/date. Otherwise it was superb
Screaming tuna is our favorite sushi place. Server was very friendly and helpful. We will be back again.
It was my first time there, it was a real nice experience. Everything was top notch, the food was great, service was great ( Every course timed just right ) and a scenic view of the river (Frozen). I will be back.
