The waiter was pleasant. However, we had to request drinks when we first sat down and when we wanted another beverage. Other than that, everything was great.
Definitely a beautiful restaurant, the service was good no long waits and very attentive. Appetizers were very good, the main dish was alright.. teriyaki chicken as really dry and the potatoes had no flavor, not a dish worth over $20.00, they did bring out a complimentary dessert for our anniversary celebration and was presented beautifully. My wife only ate half of the rolls she ordered because they weren’t that great, but may have been the rolls she selected, we may try again.
The service and food were incredible! The server made suggestions that were spot on and very much appreciated. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere outside was picture perfect!
We had the wontons which were bad. 2 Maki rolls, the fish did not seem fresh at all. I was worried that we could get sick the next day. The chai cocktail was decent.
Everything was fabulous! Bar service was great! Our dinner service was a little slow, but was ok. We will definitely be back!
Had a table outside. The whole experience was great. Super service excellent food.
Seated five minutes before 7pm reservation. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive (a cellar temp at best Sapporo and a quite good Sauvignon Blanc). Food took forever to arrive, appetizers about 35-45 min in, sushi well over an hour. Beef lettuce wraps: decent, but tasted like budget beef with a premade sauce. Spring rolls: surprise! Actually summer rolls (cold with rice paper wrapper, not fried). Sadly the best part of the meal. All sushi was not well made, fell apart. All “wagyu” beef was tough, some pieces were actually inedible. We ended up paying (as we did eat or try to eat as normal), then went to a burger joint to placate the normally sushi-loving kids. Honestly, I don’t know why there are so many good reviews. I was truly disappointed and won’t be returning next time we’re in Milwaukee.
Loved sitting outside on the river.
Service slow and choppy.
Outside seating has fantastic view of downtown Milwaukee and river. Service was a slow but we were in no hurry... more time to enjoy the view! Great food and drink selection.
Food was great. Server was awesome. Super disappointed that we weren’t able to get outdoor seating even with a reservation. We were told there would be an additional 30 min wait for outdoor seating, however there were several open tables on the patio our entire meal. Super disappointing.
Here’s the deal. I’ve been to Tuna a few times. It’s really good sushi. I’ve never experienced a bad time...until this last visit. It was extremely loud. I couldn’t even hear the server. She had to stand right next to me and bend over just so I could hear what she was saying. A few times she stopped by and said something and my wife and I just nodded. No clue what she said. First, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait when we arrived because we didn’t have a reservation. There were at least 9 tables empty. Now, I get it those could be for reservations. I went on open table and booked a reservation right then and there and took a reservation that was ten minutes from the current time. How’s that even possible? 45 minute wait but you can make reservations for a less than ten minute wait. Sat down at 8:30pm. Our server came over and took our order at 8:36pm. We ordered drinks, appetizer and dinner all at once. Approximately 10-12 min later we received the appetizer-crab wantons. Super good. It took us about ten minutes to finish the appetizer. Server came by and took the plate away at around 8:55pm. At 9pm we still had not received our food. Seems like a long time to not get sushi. I mean 24 minutes is the longest I’ve ever waited at a sushi place for food-probably less. Now I want to say they were extremely busy when we arrived. But it slowed down to the point where the patio was pretty empty while we were at our table. At 9:15pm I had enough. I asked for the manager. I explained that 45 minutes is a long time to be waiting for four sushi rolls. She said they were busy and had a lot of new staff working. I’m sorry that you’re busy and you chose to start new staff on a Saturday night but 45 min is a ridiculous wait for sushi. Around 9:19pm we finally got our dinner. It was amazing like always. It was on the warmer side of what I like but it was still delicious. I especially enjoyed the shekar (pronounced shaker per the server). The manager came over and apologized.
Great food as always. Loved sitting outside by the river.
It was hot where we were seated so that made it uncomfortable, our waitress Sasha took our order which took 45 minutes to get which we are fine with but in that time she never came back to see how we were doing or if we wanted refills on drinks, but we saw other waiters/waitresses passing constantly. The sushi was not good like the last 3 times we came here and really enjoyed it! It was just an overall horrible experience. When our waitress came over to see how we were doing (we were already done eating for like 15-20 minutes) my boyfriend just paid right away because otherwise we’d be waiting longer again and wanted to get out of the uncomfortable area we sat in. Also the bathrooms are disgusting, looks like they need a cleaning service, green stuff around the piping, the pinkish mold ring in the toilets. This is not the screaming tuna we remember, very disappointing
Had a very nice lunch with my daughter. Visiting from Chicago. A little noisy due to the air and water show but otherwise very quaint and the sushi was very good.
Food was excellent nice outdoor seating on the river, our waiter wasn’t to good maybe because we were a party of 6 and gratuity was already included in our bill. Very little street parking available.
Best sushi I have ever had in Wisconsin! Presentation, drinks and appetizers are fabulous. Enjoyed dining on the patio looking out over the water. Valet service available too. Will always come back.
Always amazing food. The edamame is always unique and great. Had a great shrimp salad today as well
It seems when it is very busy, the food suffers. The service is always very good. The ambience is great being on the river. I’m just not happy with the food lately. The rice was very chewy on the rolls that we got. The roll was 80% rice. The tuna was very stringy. We are going to start going elsewhere.
Great experience. Great staff. Great food.
Night out with my daughter.
Normally we absolutely love this place but I’m not sure what’s happened. First, no one at the host station acknowledged us for over five solid minutes despite there being a rotating cast of 6 people standing there. The woman who seated us wouldn’t even speak to us. Then the food took almost an hour to arrive - and we didn’t order much! Apparently ordering anything that wasn’t on the specials menu made it take that long? I don’t buy it. Noise was crazy but I get it...I just don’t understand why suddenly the staff is not being trained to speak to customers and the food is taking ages (this is the second time this has happened)
Lovely evening - wonderful tasty sushi - great service!
Awesome views of water, dog friendly outdoor tables, great sushi as if I was in California!
our server was very good and helped us with our selection. he brought out our items quickly and was very nice.
Very slow service, raw fish should be very high quality and here it was fibrous, not very good quality.
Perfect relaxing date night. Had an amazing server by the name Joseph, who made our evening a wonderful experience.
Great experience! Daughter’s 16th Birthday
Given worst table in the restaurant despite having a reservation; was not given a new table upon request despite the fact that several were open. The food took 55 minutes to arrive after ordering.
Service was very good. The food was better, we got sushi for two and it was so much and so delicious.
The bartenders were amazing and our wait staff I think were overwhelmed.
It wasn’t the waiter’s fault. But we waited a looooong time for our food. Pretty bad, for the price we paid.
Made a reservation for 5:15 with my daughter before a show. Arrived at 5 to an empty restaurant, but was told we had to wait for a 6 top to show before we could be seated. All hostesses were talking about upcoming reservations and offers no other help. Waited at the bar until 5:15 and was told the 6 top cancelled and we would be seated, although another 2 top without reservations was seated ahead of us. Ordered 3 simple maki rolls to make it quick so we would be on time. After 45 minutes and trying to get a servers attention, we got our food, got the barest apology with no offer to make anything up. Food was ok, but even after stating on the reservation and in person we had a celiac allergy, we had to ask for wheat-free soy sauce. Very disappointing, and a bad way to start what was a birthday gift evening out.
I took my boyfriend to Screaming Tuna for his birthday. We had an amazing time. We were seated at a cute table right on the window viewing the river. My boyfriend got a birthday treat and the food was amazing. Kiana our waitress did great.
We weren't served for the first 15 minutes of us being there. A large party came in about a little while after and we were completely ignored for the rest of the night. Someone who wasn't our waiter brought our food. We had to ask a nearby waitress who was pouring water for another table to refill ours. We were never asked how our food was and we had to hunt down our waiter for the bill. A very mediocre dining experience. Luckily the food was pretty good, but not good enough for the terrible service.
Kiana was one of the BEST servers we have ever had, period. So engaging, knowledgeable, friendly...
It was a little loud, but everything was closed up due to rain, so that may have been part of it.
As always, excellence.
Service subpar. Food great as always.
We had a 5 o’clock reservation. Almost 20 minutes after being seated and not being greeted by a server, we flagged a server to our table. A few minutes later, another server came to our table and explained to us that she did not realize that the hostess had seated a table for her. I ordered a glass of wine and we ordered our food. It took over 20 minutes for the wine to arrive and we had already finished our edamame. The server explained that this was because the bartender did not have any cold wine, so they had to chill a bottle before they served me a glass. The wine was not cold enough, so I added several ice cubes to the glass. The waitress ended up comping my wine. The waitress was very nice and the food was excellent, but the restaurant seemed unprepared to serve its guests during this particular evening.
Usually enjoy screaming tuna however service was awful.
Very good food and great service. Pretty decent for the price and the location is prime being right on the river.
