The food was just okay. Absolutely not worth the price. The service saved it from being a complete bust. I for sure would not recommend or go back.
Service was not attentive. It took us a while to get recognized at our table to be asked for water. My plate had dirt on it while my napkin had hair on it. No one asked us how our food was. Calamari was under done, breading was soft and loose. Scallops were cooked ok but Safire had a odd taste to it especially afterwards. Cheesecake dessert was soft and mushy. Did not taste well and presentation was not well done. Waiter would slam our glasses down on table like he did not want to be there. All other folks who were older crowd seemed to be getting a lot of attention and check ins from multiple staff while myself and my wife were left staring looking for service.
Interesting menu, but some dishes had excessive sweet or fatty sauces. Very good service, prompt, courteous and helpful.
Waiter was awkward and absent. Food was terrible. Fried chicken coating fell off and meat was dry. Salmon was really over cooked. We should have gone to starbirds
Great fast service. Great waiter. A little noisy. That we were in the room with a very large party
I haven't been to Scratch for a few years and it has definitely gone downhill. I ordered the fried chicken, which was crispy, but it was barely warm - not close to hot. I did not complain or send it back, to be fair, but nobody in our party of 5 had a particularly good meal. We had difficulty getting our waters refilled.
Food was fine. Cocktails were quite expensive. Nice wait staff
Food is good, but over priced.
Was very loud, food was good tasting but too expensive for it, waiters nice, wait for food not too bad, was crowded.
I won't go back.
It was my birthday dinner. Originally I had booked a table for 12, but apparently Thursday is the new Friday for my friend circle and the final count jumped to 17! Scratch called me a few days in advance to confirm and when I told them that my more guests had confirmed, they promptly upped my reservation and even gave me meal options for a large group including several dietary restrictions such as vegetarianism and keto.
When the bulk of our group arrived early, they worked to seat us immediately. It ended up being two tables of 10 at first because there was a crowd but once the table next to us cleared they promptly seated us at one table.
They took all of our orders and even though we had such a large group, appetizers were out in 15 mins and main course about 40 mins— all served at once.
I ordered the simple fish dish. The food was hot and fresh and they graciously allowed me substitute baby greens for frisée salad (it’s a texture thing lol). To top off the night, they allowed me to choose any dessert of my choice (I chose a scrumptious pear galette) and they even brought out a second dessert so everyone could get a bite without breaking their diet lol.
Overall it was an amazing experience made even better thanks to their wonderful staff, excellent waiters and amazing chefs!
The food was in poor condition, the oysters and other seafood were not in good condition and the lamb was very spicy, The brussel sprouts were undercooked.
The lamb was left on the plate after having paid 126 dollars for two persons.
Food was delicious, but wine list prices were really excessive
Not sure why we don't dine here more often, although it can be a little expensive .... and they don't carry Grey Goose vodka. :-) Other than that, it's good every time we go. I love the meatloaf and my partner had the chicken that was very tasty.
They try hard but the quality of the food is good but not great. Drinks are expensive at $16
Great date night dinner!
Food is on the pricey side for what you get, but it doesn’t stop the tech bros from going here.
It was just a tad bit pricey but overall I would recommend it. The food was fantastic.
Overpriced. Paid $47 for a filet that was good, but nowhere near $47 good. Oddly, the corkage was surprisingly low at $20. Waitstaff was not at the level of service expected. Very slow service often waiting for someone to come by.
I've dined here a few times, but this was the first disappointing meal. I asked for bread instead of toast on a turkey sandwich and it was totally dry/stale. The sandwich was also missing some content based on what was listed on the menu. The waiter was very nice and brought more bread, but it too was stale. If you dine here, be sure to get a toasted sandwich. And maybe the kitchen could keep the bread in the bags or something. The waiter was excellent and helped to make up for my bad food experience. I would go again, but a second experience like this would make me take this restaurant off of my list. Hopefully, this was a one off situation.
Fried chicken was crispy. Grilled artichoke with 2 sauces was delicious. A little pricey. Ambiance a bit sterile.
Staff friendly and responsive. Noise level low enough we could have a conversation with a group of 8.
It was way too expensive for what we got. My husband had meat loaf and water, I had an appetizer and a glass of wine and we shared a salad. The bill came to $85 without tip. All of the food was ordinary. Won’t go back.
Ordered a shrimp Louie salad but there it was watery.
Puddle of water in the bottom of my bowl. Disappointing.
Birthday dinner
We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was fine, and the service was good.
Sadly having been here previously I chose it for a special evening. First we walked into a restaurant that was more than half empty and were seated at a table directly opposite the double swinging doors to the kitchen. A very loud kitchen. The second issue was the table backed up to a bar area where subsequently a family with four very unruly children were seated.
The evening continues downhill with the server. After numerous delays with the waiter stopping by to say I will be back shortly he finally came to take our drink order. After delivering the drinks he disappeared for far too long before coming back to take food orders. He recommended the fish special which was neither fresh nor special. It was a very small cut of Seabass that was overcooked and mediocre at best.
Unfortunately I am not likely to return to what used to be one of my go to restaurants because of this experience.
I’m not sure what has changed in the last month but Scratch has been scratched off my list.
This was our second visit to Scratch. Both times, the food was bland and overpriced. No flavor. And no salt & pepper on the tables to liven it up! Open Table calls this reasonably priced, but for one appetizer (the deviled eggs WERE good, I have to admit) one Cobb salad and a plate of 8 raviolis, no alcohol, it came to $82 with tax. As the service was excellent, I tipped 20%, making this a lousy "almost $100" dinner. Sorry, Scratch, but that's twice in a row.
Almond french toast had no almond flavor or nuts.
Scallop dish was delicious. Our friend had the fried chicken and praised it highly. Bread could be more interesting. Service was excellent.
The food was wonderful, they had a great selection of beers on tap and tasty cocktails, but the server was rather awkward/nervous and the price point is a little high.
We have dined here countless times, and the services seems to decline each time we are here.. so much so I refuse to eat here anymore. Our server was attentive until the appetizers were served, after that we had the hardest time trying to get anyone’s attention to get more drinks, and anything else we wanted. It’s like he couldn’t be bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else. Also there was a large group behind us that wanted to cheer and drink like It was a sports bar, totally took away from the normal ambiance of the place. Pretty distracting trying to have a conversation when a group of tech professionals sound like a frat party right behind and next to us. Really not the place for that thing.. I could tell it was also startling the patrons next to us as well.. sad this place has gone down, it use to be better.
OVERPRICED AND NOT THAT GOOD. I HAD PIZZA THAT WAS BILLED AS FLATBREAD--IT WAS NOT FLATBREAD. MY COMPANIONS VERY MUCH ENJOYED THEIR DINNERS--ONE LAMB SHANK AND ONE BEEF .
Bland and flavorless food. Terrible value for the money. No wonder, half of the restaurant was empty on Friday evening.
Service was very, very slow. It took 20 minutes to get our cocktails, and an hour to get our food! No apologies from the server...an unsmiling man.
The food was good, not great.
Although the food was delicious (but rather expensive - my fish was $35, and the soups were $11), the service was only fair (our waiter forgot that I had ordered a salad even though I had pointed to it on the menu in addition to saying aloud that that was what I wanted; my husband was through with his soup (he didn't want it to get cold, after all!) before my salad arrived only after I had reminded the waiter). The wine list was very expensive, and then the bottle we had ordered ($45) was out of stock so the waiter suggested an alternative (for a mere $60!), but it was pretty much our only option. Not to mention that a full 25% of the list was devoted to just one varietal, at the expense (pardon the pun) of a better selection of any of the other varieties. The restaurant is also very noisy.
Delicious lunch! The waiter was very attentive and knew the menu. Loved the artichoke appetizer! The bread on table was yummy too. It would be a good place for a business lunch as well.
Nice ambiance. Food was good. Prices are high especially wines by the glass and by the bottle.
Great place for cocktails!
We love the food here, although it’s very noisy in the evenings if your table is in the open area to the left of the bar. We always ask to be located on the other side where you can here each other without shouting. This is my only complaint although I’m sure some like the vibrant feeling from the noise.
This one visit we found the service to be inattentive - not typical for Scratch. Waiter was brief and mechanical. I would have liked an coffee refill, but no chance. Still, we will definitely go back.
I used to enjoy Scratch. But it has become very pricey and I don't think the price is worth it.
