Scratch features American cookery in an elegant setting. The cuisine is based on the premise of simple food done well and draws from American classics reflecting today's influences and bounty of ingredients. Choose from a tender moist braised short rib, rotisserie chicken, or perhaps a selection from our fresh seafood and oyster bar.

For beverages Scratch has researched some of the finest vineyards and distilleries in the United States. We have a wide variety of wines and spirits to choose from in all price ranges. Some of our wine and spirits are highly allocated and will not always be available.

Scratch also offers a vegetarian menu and a gluten free menu.

    Enjoy specially priced oyster selections with a glass of Prosecco or draft beer on the patio every Thursday night starting at 4 pm. Select from oysters on the half shell, a pail of fried oysters, oyster shooters, Rockefeller, or Po Boy sandwich.

Scratch is a lovely restaurant but rather on the expensive side. Their menu is rather
limited, but the food is always been very good. Their dinner portions are large and
usually delicious. Very easy to find, and there is parking behind and to the side of
the restaurant. You can enter from the parking lot into the back of the restaurant.

Scratch is largely consistent for good food and a pleasant dining experience.
The outdoor dining in the courtyard is convenient and comfortable. Noise levels are low which facilitates conversation. The service was a little slow on this visit, but it was for Brunch on a Sunday at 11 AM, so that may have been the reason. Drinks are good as usual.

Brunch wasn't anything special (eggs Benedict and corned beef dishes seemed almost the same), but we enjoyed it. The biscuit with orange butter was pretty good. Nice location to sit outside and enjoy Castro st.

Went there for Brunch, food was really good however service was really, really bad. IT could have been the specific waiter we had but we sat there for 25 minutes with nothing but water in front of us. I had to go and walk into the restaurant and talk to the manager to finally get some service. When the food finally came out, they didn't know who ordered what. I had to ask for salt and pepper several times, one of the dishes was supposed to have rye toast and we got sourdough and they gave it to us dry, no butter, no jam. We had to ask for rye toast and butter several times. 10 minutes later, after we are done, they come out with more sourdough and tell us they don't have rye. The manager graciously took our Orange Juice and coffee off the bill which amounted to around $8 on a $100 bill. Next time, they shouldn't even bother to take anything off the bill, giving $8.00 seemed a bit stingy for really, really bad service.

It was fine overall. Food was good. Coffee is nothing great, expected better for this restaurant- it was very “diner” style. We noticed some areas of the restaurant were dusty and had cobwebs which is surprising considering we are in a pandemic. I understand indoor dining was shut down for awhile but thought for sure they would have taken more care when reopening. Otherwise the service was good and our server was pleasant. The food was tasty and we had a nice time.

Our server was great - Jonathan. The food was good but not great. Making the overall value for the money kind of low. COVID precautions in place and maintaining social distancing was a priority for this restaurant. They did a great job with that. They just need to up their food and prices to reflect the value.

Definitely get the Mac & Cheese. The fried chicken was also perfectly crispy and great flavor. We order the several Lemongrass Martini and it was delicious!

Very Covid precautions friendly. Went for Saturday brunch. Nice menu selections. My husband and I both ended up having the steak and eggs. While the portions were not huge, it was honestly the right amount of food. The steak was tender, flavored perfectly and had a lovely reduction sauce that paired well with the over easy eggs (cooked perfectly). The sourdough toast was good. But the star of the plate was the crispy buttery hash browns. Omg! We had mango Bellinis and cappuccinos to round it all out. Service was great and we had a nice chat with the very hardworking and personable manager.

Came here for lunch on a weekend and the food and service was amazing. We were seated at a table near the street with a nice view. It can keep noisy depending where you’re seated but overall it was good experience.

We love this place. It was the restaurant of our first date almost 10 years ago. Food is always delicious, oysters are amazing! Staff is always courteous and we always have a great time. We love you Scratch!

I really do not like reviews during Covid Protocols as nothing is the norm, but I guess everyone reading understand thangs are different. This was an outdoor seating experience.

Very good safety protocols were in place - gloves, mask, hand sanitizer, etc. - to get that out of the way.

Our waiter was more than pleasant - a little overworked - I am sure from reduction in staff. It took a little time for our table to get organized which seemed to throw off the cadence for our waiter - we seemed to wait for a period ordering drinks.

As for the food, the short ribs were nicely cooked, the volume of mushrooms was a little too much and the volume of reduction was a little lacking.

Others has the Spicy CHIX strips - was ok but not great and Pork Tenderloin - best of the meals.

I am glad they were open and deserve another chance in more normal times.

The food was good. The server was really nice, but he kept forgetting our table. It took us about 45 minutes to get our food, overall the food was good (over priced in my opinion) and the place was quiet everyone was being covid safe.

The food we had was good nothing to complain about there but, we waited over an hr for our food to get to our table and the surrounding tables had to wait about an hr and a half for theirs. Something to keep in mind when going!

It was valentines brunch and there seemed to be a kitchen issue because no one got food for about an hour and a half- HOWEVER, the staff stayed friendly and attentive, the food was good (juiciest chicken I've had in a while), and they complimented us all our drinks to make up for it. I'd go back to give it a second chance for sure!

The tent they set up had heaters in the ceiling, but was still open on either end and openings in the middle. The tables were far apart and they had hand sanitizer. We went for brunch. The eggs Benedict was amazing, perfectly poached egg. The service was great and they welcomed our Maltese Marley with open arms. We had a great morning and I can't wait to dine here again.
