Scott's Seafood - San Jose

First time visit to this location. We were very pleased with the service and quality of food.

The staff was very organized and friendly. Service was excellent and food was cooked perfectly with good presentation. One of my favorite restaurants.

We enjoyed dinner at Scott's - the soups were definitely the highlight of the meal, though the entrees were tasty too. Nice selection of wine, and we had a nice view (though we understand that the location of the restaurant is changing). The service was really great, and altogether, it made for a very nice date night.

It was my daughter’s birthday week. Last minute reservation and first time there. The place was really nice and quiet. The food was great and really large portions.

Pre speaker series dinner. Three ladies. We like to share and the hot appetizer platter was perfect. We also shared soup and dinner salad. Our waiter, Elias, was outstanding. Maybe one of the best I’ve encountered.

A very lovely meal. The sourdough bread is the best I’ve ever had.

Scott's is a dependable place to go when you want a nice meal with no drama.

Food and service at Scotts is outstanding but so is the price. Very spendy but worth it for a special occasion

Meal pace was very slow. Restaurant dated. Wait staff not attentive. Food was average.

The Chilean sea bass was exquisite. In fact, we have never been disappointed with any meal at Scott’s. We will miss Scott’s until they reopen.

We have loved going to Scott’s for many years. Hope that they can succeed in their new location.

The food was excellent. I have one complaint. When the waiter greeted us at the table, I asked him how he was. He immediately said he wished he was at home. I was stunned. His service was brusque and clearly he was maxed out for the evening. It was my husband's 65th birthday. The front desk acknowledged this but the waiter never brought out a birthday dessert. Understandably it is a very busy night for service staff. I just would have expected a response that would have created a dialogue for the evening rather than I will wait on you as I am expected to.

Great place for great seafood in SJ. Their specials are very special.

Went to Scott's after a theatre matinee at the CPA. Had the sea bass special which was excellent.

Everything was well pressed including special requests. They were very busy yet our waiter did a nice job of making sure all was fine at our table.

Food was yummy... great selection of seafood to choose from however, service was a little slow...

Great service and a fantastic meal. Interested to know the story of the space that the restaurant is in. The space is little tired, but the food and experience couldn’t have been better.

Always enjoy Scott's, the food is always good but the restaurant is looking a bit tired, hopefully it will be updated soon. But the food is always very good!

Everything was good, but the clam chowder was especially delicious. I really didn't expect it.

The food was superb! Probably the best seafood place I have been to (and I've been to many!). Refined, well seasoned, proper size. Bread was delicious, fish was great, rice was yummy! Oh my. I'm coming back. Delicious!

Wonderful place to dine!

Great food, good service, reasonably quiet. If you want to go here, you should do it quickly as it is closing on 12/31.

Our meals were very disappointing. Although we had a nice table with a beautiful view, this place has really gone down hill. They forgot to dress the salads, one of our fish dishes was not fresh at all, and the chocolate lava cake seemed lacking in flavor. We did have a shrimp appetizer wrapped in wontons that was delicious...

When there are plenty of tables by the window and they sit you the the fartest table from it, you want to 1) Walk out 2) never come back 3) leave a 1 star review. I guess we did not look worth of be seated with a view.
But I'll be fair. Although I'll never come back, in general this is a good restaurant, with good food and decent waiters...therefore my 3 star rating.

Lovely place to have dinner before going to the theatre.

Always a great dining option. Food, service, ambiance.

Food was great, however service was fair. The server asked when we were first seated if we were going attending a performance, which we responded yes.
Keep in mind, we have an hour and a half (90 mins) before the performance.
He was slow in taking our order. Food came, we ate and only heard from him one time. The other staff cleared our table, boxed foods to go.
We never had refills of water and asked the other servers for our waiter/bill.
Nothing.....we ended up hunting down the waiter ourselves to close out the bill.
Spent 80 mins at dinner and rushed down the street to the performance.
Our entire group was disappointed in the service - we have been to several other Scott's Seafood location and by far, this one had the worse service.

Sadly, the service was not up to the standards we have become used to at Scott’s Seafood.
We had to flag down other wait staff personnel more than once to refresh our drinks and water was never refilled.
Food was very good, but not excellent. One order of sole was hard and dry in the middle.
Because it is convenient, we will return. But we will also look for other options, too.

Great outdoor dining area.
I think the food is ok. We had sea bass and halibut both a bit overcooked.

The bread is awesome and the srvice fantastic!
I'd go back.

Service could have been a little faster with our main course & coffee afterwards

I went for Sunday brunch. The hostess didn’t know the name of the band playing and couldn’t be bothered to find out. It wasn’t very busy but no one came to take my drink order for 15 minutes. i asked the servers at the bar if I could have a glass of water, but still no one came to my table. I finally got up to leave. The manager was hanging out at the bar. The food may have been good but the service was so bad I didn’t stay to find out.

We were excited to go to Scott's as it used to be nearby and we enjoyed it. The food was just ok, nothing seemed fresh. It was loud. Waiter was great, views are great. We asked to have the grilled asparagus done dairy free and they could not because they were pre-cooked. That was very surprising that 1. they were pre-cooked and 2. they didn't hold any aside for those who may want them dairy free. Probably won't go back
