It was my birthday. We came to meet friends for before the theater. We always come here before the theater and is always very good. Scott was our server and he was terrific!
The sesame crusted ahi and halibut dishes were delicious. Cooked to perfection. The hostess, waitress and busboys were very friendly. Everyone treated us extra special. I would definitely return to Scott's when I go to the theatre.
A very good evening. Seated right away and overall good experience with service and food quality. Our meals were cooked very well, starting from appetizer, soup and entrees.
Would recommend Scott's for a good dining experience.
The eggplant parmigiana was undercooked and tough. The trout itself was good, but the butter sauce was too much.
The restaurant is ok, good service, food ok..nothing special.
Excellent service as always!!
I Iove coming here for brunch! Bottomless mimosas included in the price is awesome! The mango mimosa is the best. They are very good at refilling your glass. The food is also good. My only complaint would be the lack of taste in the crab legs. They were fishy tasting and the meat was hard to get off the shells. The oysters and shrimp were great as was the salmon and eggs Benedict. Overall a very good meal
We have not been in Scotts San Jose for many years. It retains its high quality of service, food selection and food quality. We must make it a destination more frequently.
We’ve been to Scott’s in Costa Mesa and it was fabulous. This on the other hand was not as good as what we expected. Food was good but we’ve had better. Service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress kept disappearing.
We had a great meal. Service was very good. Their outdoor patio is a fun place for a pre-dinner cocktail.
Solid restaurant in the heart of downtown San Jose. Good food, great service, not loud for easy conversations.
Fresh, tasty food, comfortable ambient, scenic view in downtown location. We enjoyed our night at Scott's and will come back. Free, easy parking icing on the cake.
Ambience and service good. The fish was bland and tasteless. Expensive
Had a 5 pm rsvp. Arrived early after Sharks game - about 4:10. Elevator open doors open but on arrival we were told it didn’t open until 5. We asked if we could sit at bar and wait and bartender who was setting up told us 2-3 times “we don’t open until 5”. We said we understood but since we were from out of town we would wait and have s drink. He ignored us. When others arrived he took their drink orders and ignored us after we had waited 45 minutes. We were seated but he set the tone. Food was good not great. Halibut was very soft. If the bartender had shown any hospitality we might have enjoyed it better. Next time I will go elsewhere
Food was well below our expectations. They did Comp us salads. Entrees were mediocre at best for the price.
Crown was primarily thug wannabes. Eh...
Food was not up to expectations. At these prices I would expect something unique and elegant. My lobster bisque soup was very good. However the angel hair pasta was so-so. Looked like someone just slapped together the ingredients without putting much thought into it. The lobster risotto was also ok. Mai tai was a tad too sweet. The appetizer bread was not very tasty
Great spot if you like all you can eat buffets. Food was good, service was a little slow on champagne refills for bottomless mimosas.
Excellent food, good service, convenient downtown location.
As usual we had good dinners and service. We usually have dinner here before going to Broadway SJ as it is very convenient to the theater. It's nice to also have Scott's be a good place for dinner.
Very good server, kept us on time for our show, delicious cheesecake.
Our downtown favorite restaurant. Scotts never disappoints. Excellent food, & service in a timely manner. Always fresh food and wonderful ambiance.
Good seafood particularly like the crab cakes and trout. Staff are happy to split entrees at no extra charge, I never feel I am being rushed. They validate parking for the evening which is a big plus when attending the SJ Performing Arts Centre which is a 5 minute walk.
The evening was exceptional. I can't say enough about the Scott's Seafood Signature Dinner,
my partner was very impressed with his Filet Mignon, broiled to perfection with wonderful sauce.
I had a delightful cocktail called Scott's 185. Wish I could have had 2.........
Delicious food and great service; the petrale and rainbow trout were both excellent dishes. Thanks to our wonderful waitress, Beth who took a great panoramic photo of us in front of the San Jose skyline.
I like going to Scott’s. The staff are amazing and the food is always on point
We go to Scott's before the shows at the theater. Usually a good price for the meal and they have nice salads to choose from and soups if you are not hungry for a big meal. This time we thought the caesar salad was a little skimpy compared to other times. Bread was good and location is perfect for before the show.
I frequently come to Scotts before a show. This time was unusual. The service was poor with long waits to get our food. The eggplant Parmesan I ordered was basically raw and I sent it back. My husband and my appetizers came out 15 minutes before our friends did. My husband asked for tarter sauce for his calamari and it took so long to get that the dish was completely cold before the sauce came so it needed to be heated. Something was happening with the service and it looked like a manager (young man in a blue sport coat) was actually serving meals. Very bad experience.
Dinner before going to a play.
The tomato fennel soup was outstanding, then I had the Seared Ahi Tuna salad and it was so delicious that I finished every bite!!
Been going for years. Theatre night with complimentary parking.
Great Service and a nice welcome. Food was mediocre and cold
Reservation was honored and hostess quickly seated us at another table when the designated one had not been cleaned. Service was excellent, attentive and helpful. Cocktails were trendy and our dinners were served hot and delicious. Having our parking validated until midnight was a real perk as we were going to a show at the Civic.
Great food & service. Perfect for dinner before a show.
We always eat at Scott’s when we stay over in San Jose. The food is great and they have great city views from the patio.
I booked a table for 14 for my mother in laws 90 th birthday
They did a great job accommodating us.
The service was better than expected.
The servers were very attentive and there to make sure your glass was never empty.
Will definitely go back.
Food was great, our waitress was nice and attentive, but the hostess was a bit rude, no smile, snobby, and not genuine when greeting us. All in all I would come back for the nice seafood and fantastic service but hopefully we don’t have to start off with a fake greeting upon our arrival, from the same hostess.
While in San Jose, CA on business we wanted a good seafood restaurant. Based on web research Scott's seemed the best place for that type of dinner. It's an attractive restaurant and the table setting is nice. There were a couple large groups that we were seated adjacent to so I wouldn't call it a quiet restaurant. My husband's artichoke soup du jour was bland and tasteless. His seafood entree was just okay. My seared Ahi wasn't seared and it was cold. My seafood salad was okay but nothing special. I asked for additional salad dressing but I never received it. I mentioned this to our server and she 'did' include some dressing with my take out container. The bill was quite high partly due to our bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay. However, we won't be returning to Scott's.
Food very mediocre. Bathrooms dirty.
Very convenient for dining before shows at CPA. Short walk and free validated parking in attached garage. Fairly traditional seafood menu. Had a variety of items at our table (sole, clams, salads, chowder. Asparagus. Brussels sprouts, signature cocktails from bar) and all were above average/excellent. Have eaten here a number of times and find meals and service to be consistently good.
The band was good playing my kind of music 50-70. We sat next to a birthday party. Very loud group. Cab’t Hear the music most of the time.
