The wait staff were all friendly and helpful.
Food was delivered quickly.
They were out of the (menu) seabass, so two of our four people had the blackened seabass special (and enjoyed it). Two of our people had the lobster bisque soup (while not the best we've had, it was enjoyable).
Our lunch had started at 1 PM (in May) ... after an hour, we had to move our table due to sunlight hitting us, but thanks to dining capacity restrictions and the lateness of our lunch, that was quite easy to do. (We could also have chosen to sit indoors, and there was plenty of nicely spaced capacity there.)
The restaurant validated parking for our two cars (one per couple), which was nice.
I was a bit disappointed in the soft drink quality, but that's a very minor nitpick!
We'd definitely go back again, for dinner.
Been here many times. Food is great and consistently good. On our last visit the service was terrible.... after 55 minutes our waiter had not taken our entree order so I eventually asked a manager for assistance. We did get to place our order but the waiter didn’t apologize and then went on to give us the cold shoulder . Hopefully this is a post-COVID glitch.
My husband and I came here for Mothers Day and had a great dinner. Our reservation was for outdoor because Open Table said there weren't any indoor seating available but when we got there they were able to sit us inside, which I really appreciated them offering. My husband had the clam chowder and I had a taste of it and it was wonderful. He had the trout for dinner and I had the lobster. Absolutely wonderful. This will be our new go-to place.
Had the Sole with caper sauce and Cioppino, both prepared/seasoned very well with nice portions. Well made Manhattan cocktail. Service was excellent, always around, but not hovering. We'll be back.
Mother’s Day brunch
No issues with the quality of food served to us. The only thing that bothered me is that after I placed my order of sea bass, it took my server 20 minutes to notify me that they cannot fulfill my initial order because they seemed to have run out of ingredients or something but will replace my order with their special sea bass menu of the day., which means that the clock reset again... longer wait time. Other than that, it was the smell of smoke from a building fire down the block that interfered with our enjoyment of eating out on Mother's Day.
Great meal and service
I love this place. Good food. Great restaurant, and they treat everyone with respect. I will definitely be visiting again
Mothers day is not the day to go. We wanted menu options not Buffet options. We go there often and the food is always great. But very disappointed on the buffet. Very expensive with dry food.
I will recommend this place but not on special occasions.
Branch is so recommended
Should not have to wait 30 minutes for a set reservation. Food presentation was good. Actual buffi was nothing special. Prior location was very special. New location and design is mediocre.
Was not aware that brunch only was served for mom day. When called to confirm table, a notice of this would be appreciated. The layout of food stations was a bit chaotic. Best to mention, by waiter, which foods were in certain locations so that people's were not wandering aimlessly.
I had a fabulous Mother’s Day Brunch here. Everything was clean, only the servers served you the food items at the buffet and the music was incredible. This is my first time at the San Jose restaurant, my usual Walnut Creek one closed. It was worth the drive. I’ll definitely come back for their dinners.
Mother’s Day brunch. Great food and service
My wife and I took our mother's to a mother's day lunch. Service and food were excellent. It was our first time at the new location. Very nice and clean.
Food was good however, the soups we ordered was warm on the cooler side and not hot. This was very disappointing for we were looking forward to the lobster bisque and clam chowder soup. Also the Pilaf was undercooked and had to be returned to the kitchen to redo.
I am not sure if there is new ownership or a new chef but overall the food quality wasn't what it was before.
It is a nice restaurant with good food. The service is slow and seating takes awhile even with reservations.
Was there for bday cel
Not the menu that matched online. The outdoor seating was frequently interrupted by the downtown homeless community.
Good service. New location doesn’t have the views but the easily accessible.
It was a nice place overall. Food was alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. The food took a very long time to come out and my husbands water glass had lipstick stains from a previous customer. Pretty gross. They just took the glass and came back with another and didn’t say anything else.
Probably wouldn’t go back anytime soon.
We sat outside and it was nice but a little breezy. The soup was on the warm side (not hot) but flavorful. Mussels were ok too...we prefer mussels in garlic, butter, wine...overall, it was ok
My husband and I went there and I hate to have to say this but definitely not as good as it used to be. The oysters were good but the lobster bisque was disappointing, no lobster at all in my cup of soup. I got the Halibut and my husband got the special (Chilean Sea Bass) both items lacked seasoning. Wish it was as good as it used to be. = - (
Fun for the family of 4! Very spacious and low key. Great for family dinning.
Delicious very fresh seafood from oysters to cioppino to fresh petroleum sole to sea bass . All feast for the yes presentations. Great cocktails loved the old fashion with spice! My wife loved the blueberry lemon drop. Outside in the protected area was private and warm with a heater. We lingered and enjoyed, including killer key lime pie slice and affogato ..... we will be back soon!
Scott's Seafood is the absolute PERFECT place for brunch. When I visited with four friends, the staff was extremely accommodating to our group's many specific requests. Ildiko, Alberto, and Francisco were all so friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The food and drinks were delicious and our entire group agreed that our brunch at Scott's Seafood was the best part of our weekend! Can't wait to go back!
Bread and crab cakes were very good, main course a complete letdown. Lobster tail came overcooked and could be best described as a dry chicken breast. The accompanying asparagus and potatoes sat under the warmer for 15 minutes before the lobster was plated. I regret not sending the main course back versus paying the $140 for two lobster tail dinners. I like Scott's new location over the previous one giving it a street level city vibe, but if they can't learn how to cook seafood as per their namesake, I don't see myself going back.
The food was horrible. We have been coming to Scott’s Seafood for 15 years and have always loved it. Unfortunately, this time was not pleasant.
Nice Halibut and Salmon stuffed with Crab
Always a great meal here
I would like more options for kids vs mac and cheese
Made same day reservations for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. When we walked in, the person who was later our waiter greeted us and couldn’t find our reservation. He then asked if I was sure that I made a reservation for that location since they usually close for the day at my reservation time (they were still taking walk ins also). A woman came out and sat us at a table and they must’ve found my reservation at some point because I received a confirmation email from OpenTable. Food was amazing, as always and it was very quiet during lunch on a weekend.
Service was horrible. Food was meh. Nothing like Luke warm lobster bisque. My husbands steak was pretty good. But I don’t think I’d go back there again!
They’re BACK!! and as good as ever. Great menu and great food. Service was right on and the drinks unbelievable.
We had a wonderful dinner at Scott's we started with a glass of wine and Shrimp cocktail Vera Cruz style. It was so good the sauce was great and there were plenty of shrimp and it came with tortilla chips that went great with the shrimp and the sauce. We had freshly baked bread and ordered the Clam Chowder and the House Salad. The chowder is so good it is the best ever and the salad was huge and so good. We had the Alaskan Halibut that came with lot's of wonderful vegetables and a spinach cream sauce it was so good that we ate the entire entree. Our server was great and told us about the shrimp and brought us more wine during our dinner. Unfortunately we were to full for dessert but next time we will because we will be back!
Scott’s Seafood, a fixture in SJ for decades, has moved to a new location about five minutes away. It’s no off First St near Santa Clara. The place is not as elegant inside and it doesn’t have the marvelous view overlooking the city, but the food is excellent! Each dish was exceptional. The calamari is always great at Scott’s. But the ahi saline was exceptional, and I think that’s a new dish. We both had steaks and they were tasty, high quality meat, and cooked perfectly. The side dish of mushrooms was also great. Yes, Scott’s has moved, but it’s still and excellent restaurant.
It was my birthday and I love that I made the choice to go here.
A friend of mine recommended this place and I’m so happy I went.
I love seafood so this was a great place for that.
Not too pricey, ambience is pretty and luxurious.
Loved the service and the jazz music in the background.
I must mention that the spicing of the food is 100! Amazing amazing.
Will be going back again.
Came for lunch on our anniversary. Amazing food and very nice staff! Clean and modern look.
This was our first visit since Scotts moved to this location more than a year ago. We ate out on the patio outside. The food is still delicious. And the service was incredible. Our server Jesus was attentive and made our visit great.
Went here to eat seafood. Overall great experience. Nice staff.
First time visit to this location. We were very pleased with the service and quality of food.
The staff was very organized and friendly. Service was excellent and food was cooked perfectly with good presentation. One of my favorite restaurants.
