While the food was delicious, and server was good, we unfortunately just were rushed through the entire dinner. If I wouldve known a 730pm reservation was too late I wouldve booked a different day earlier in the day.
Great selection of entree’s. Chowder was delicious and ribeye was cooked right. Would visit again.
Excellent food. Maybe short staffed (had to ask for water, felt a little rushed.) The inside is not warm feeling due to cement floors, high ceiling with exposed beams, bright lights. We sat at a table right by the bar which made it loud and didn’t feel like fine dining. People were eating outside with heating lamps and I would eat outside in the spring time.
Great service and meal is always great!
Scott’s has raised prices beyond the quality of their food, service and ambiance.
The newer location has a great set up. We ate outdoors, and with the plastic walls and heaters we were very comfortable. Food was great with large proportions.
Great food, great service that was friendly and attentive. Presentation of everything from the drinks to the food was terrific. The background noise and music or just loud enough to allow for conversation at our table. Nice atmosphere. A little pricey but not too bad for the area. Definitely coming back.
The quality of the food did not fit the price. Mashed potatoes were very bland and the fish was bland as well.
new location is not as convenient, but the all the rest was the usual wonderful experience and food that we go to Scotts to enjoy.
Food was outstanding, Miguel was responsive but not intrusive, environment was casual but sophisticated.
Went for NYE…
Through their “Experience” listing, we reserved a High Top table inside. However when we arrived there were no High Top tables in the place, so we ended up being seated at a too tiny for our service (their pre-fixe 4-course dinner) table outside. They had a DJ spinning out there, whose music selection was pretty spot on, so that was a nice touch.
The food was good and the proteins were prepared well, but the portion of sea bass was smaller than a deck of cards and the bok Choy was gritty, like it hadn’t been washed thoroughly. The portion of filet was just right, but the crab on top was underwhelming. The taste and texture was like that of minced crab salad. The mashed potatoes we great.
We came in from out of town to dine with them and so probably wouldn’t go out of our way to seek them out again.
Went there for NYE on a fixed price menu.
Service was detached and inattentive, clearly didn’t want to be there.
Food was bland and low-quality with the exception of the deserts.
The lobster bisque for some reason was spicy which was not indicated on the menu.
We ordered red wine to go with the filet mignon, it tasted like vinegar.
The food was as good as always, but the service was a little disjointed. We kept getting our first course and second course served to the wrong table. Also, it wasn't as much fun at the new location on First St. as it was on Park Ave. I missed the music and the ambiance of the 6th floor of the parking garage picture windows overlooking SJ.
Waiter brought me the wrong appetizer and I ate mine after my wife had hers. The service was extremely slow. The New Year's Eve meal was posted as $90 on the Opentable website. The meal was $135 each at the restaurant. Our out the door bill was around $380. In my opinion it should have been around $150. The food was good; but not #380 good.
Romantic dinner on New Year's Eve -- very attentive server, fabulous prix fixe menu, perfectly prepared food, warm heat lamps outside. Great experience.
I have not been to this restaurant in over two years. The food was always delicious and affordable. This time the shrimp and crab salad had no flavor the crab tasted as if it had been frozen then thawed then frozen and thawed again. Most of the service was average. This restaurant is pricey! I don't mind paying a high price for food but I expect the food to be above average for the prices they charge. I will not be a patron of this restaurant again. Sharon Rodrigiez
Superb! Service was great, food was wonderful. The oysters were fresh!!! Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our visit at Scott’s. We will definitely be back.
I liked the previous location. The food in general is good. Waiters need to be empowered to make things right with the customer. Unfortunately, the waiter spilled my husbands wine all over my husband. Although the waiter brought another fresh glass of wine, and profusely apologized, there was no other compensation. YES, it was an honest mistake, but now we have the burden of paying for the dry cleaning of all my husbands clothes.
Christmas Eve dinner with family.
We are sad to have to give a mediocre review. We did not feel the food was up to par for a nice restaurant like Scott’s seafood. The sauce for the sea bass, it’s “special” of the. I’ve was too sweet and thick. Therefore the sauce masked the flavor of the sea bass. The rib eye was simply terrible. Dry, thin, hard, and smeared with a strong garlic sauce, but still lacking in flavor or it’s juices. Never had rib eye made like this. Also the reservations confirmation says free parking at IMPARK but when we asked for the validation they had a long winded way of saying they don’t validate any more. That may be an Open Table issue but it’s the restaurant’s responsibility to make sure the info is correct. Our bill was over $200 for two people and there was an extra surcharge the purpose for which wasn’t explained. When the bill came there was an automatic option to chose the total to include a tip but if you can’t multiply in your head quickly you would have given a 26% tip. We probably won’t come here again. While we are big supporters of local businesses and sympathetic to severs and also are generally big tippers (and we ended up tipping 20%) giving an automatic tip option at 26% is deceptive. No one gives a 26% tip unless server truly earned it and our server was just a normal server. I think we can all say the community has come together for restaurants but they should also be mindful and not take advantage of customers.
Excellent ambience and great food! Lovely enclosed patio with plenty of heaters!
My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Scott’s. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent.
My wifes order of the sea bass , we bumped it up fro $45 to $65, anticipating a better piece of fish. It was not cooked enough, very salty. We had a party of 8 people,
dinners came out staggered, garlic bread that was supposed to come with a couple of entreas never arrived, even after 2 requests. Total bill was over $620, very not worth it. Had all the food been prepared and served correctly, it would have been worth it. This was an anniversary dinner celebrating 51 years of marriage. We left disappointed.
Cindy was our server and awesome thank you so much for the food recommendation. We had a great time, we ate the Scott's famous seafood Cioppino and the Alaskan halibut. Thank you so much!!
Food was delicious! Friendly staff. Will go again.
Service was incredibly kind, patient and attentive. They accommodated a four year old easily and tables were spaced out and felt safe. Was a little cold due to the need to keep things ventilated. Food was very good - it's a bit pricey as lunch was over $170 for two adults and one child with no alcohol, but the Cioppino was delicious and so were the clams and linguine.
Overall disappointed. We excitedly booked our reservation to accommodate our return to our annual tradition of attending The Nutcracker. Although the location is convenient, with a wonderful (and covered) outdoor patio, the service and meal were lacking. Our serve was very nice but our celebratory champagne was poured incorrectly (2/3 a glass) and the meal, quality of dish, was disappointing. Moving forward, I recommend trying another establishment for a special occasion.
Scotts has reinvented itself in a new location. They have adapted to Covid with a great outdoor tent with heaters. However it does not capture the ambience of Jack Landon Square, Walnut Creek or Sacramento. It is a survivor. Give it a try and make sure to go on days where they have music.
Our server was fantastic and the food was excellent. We espectially love that they have a covered and heated patio area so that we could still eat comfortably outside even on a really cold December evening.
City vibe, great service and food!
I had the Louie Salad. The crab was chopped so fine that is was dry and had no taste.
Food was good but overpriced
Server was excellent, noise level wasn’t so bad
Don’t know if I’d return because of pricing, it felt like I was being gauged
The food and service were great. However, if I am spending north of $200 on lunch for 3, without drinks, I don't want to be sitting at a metal patio table without a tablecloth. Inside dining might have been better, but a large portion of the available space was taken up by a business lunch meeting - complete with a Power Point presentation. It felt like a hotel convention center. Not a special occasion restaurant anymore.
Celebrating my nephews Masters Degree graduation. I advised if the occasion but same never acknowledged. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Our primary server was also bar tending. Kitchen seemed backed up as it took about 40 minutes to get our entrees.
My nephew left dinner early to get yo the event center. Food was delicious with exception of linguini with clams….that one was extra starchy, which overwhelmed the taste of the clams. Seemed like the starch from the pasta seeped into the clams. Clam chowder was wonderful. Presentation of entrees was spot on. I’ve dined at Scott’s before and this visit was average at best. Just a little friendliness from the staff and acknowledgement of their staffing issues would have definitely helped. As it was the friendliest interchange was as we were leaving. I know many businesses are stressed with staffing issues especially due to the pandemic, but smiling and engaging with customers to explain delays can go a long way.
Dining at Scott’s Seafood was excellent! All of our food was served in a timely manner and all the food was served very hot.
The appetizers were great but the main course was not good at all. We got Cioppino and it was lacking flavor. It was pretty bland. The appetizers like oysters, ahi salad, shrimp cocktail were great. We were seated outside and it was cold in spite of the heater. Waiters basically left you alone and didn’t ask if the food was good or if we needed anything else.
Not as good as in years past. We requested an indoor table, but they told us we had to eat outside. The hostess said she'd keep an eye out for an available table for us, and we could move mid-meal. However, I saw one table sit open for over 10 minutes, but our waiter was nowhere in sight. Eventually, they seated a couple there. There were at least 2 other couples seated indoors, but they never came back to offer an indoor table to us. Our waiter came by minimally. Perhaps they are short staffed, but the current experience is not in line with the prices.
Fantastic food, wonderful & professional service & great ambiance. Shout outs to our server Pablo & manager Tony, Thanx guys.
Loved the food. The service was excellent. The restaurant was very convenient to the CPA. Reservations were easy through Open Table. I had to change the time which was easy by calling the restaurant. they were very accommodating.
Love the new location. Food was fabulous. Service was just right, very attentive but not crowding us. Only issue was that the wait staff (all men) had on so much cologne and/or after shave that we couldn't smell the food when they were around. Told the manager and believe it'll get taken care of. We will be back.
