Father’s Day. The service was good. Parking is a pain. Have to park down the street. The food was lackluster. Drinks were so-so. My husband’s soup was not hot.
Jesus was a great waiter and paced all plates at all times
Scott's was our go-to for take-out and outdoor dining for many months of the pandemic. What a thrill to be able to eat inside! The staff were all pleasant and professional. The food was so good....clams with linguini topped with garlic bread.....oh my!
(I just realized this was the first time eating indoors at their current location as they moved to this location just before the lockdown.....it's a lovely space.)
Thank you, Scott's!
Food was great, less fussy in new location but we miss the views. Bring back Ahi Tuna! A huge miss to not offer the Ahi that was always a staple on the menu.
The location, food, ambiance and service were all excellent. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and we were surprised with a complimentary bread pudding, as well.
A lot of fun; delicious seafood; great service.
Birthday. Food and service were fantastic. We could hear live band inside which was so nice.
The view is not as nice as the old location, but the food is still excellent. The service was great and the only thing I Scott's needs is an expanded wine list.
I hadn't been to the new location yet and so went last night. We selected a seat outside, which turned out to be great as they have the table area well shielded with plastic sheets, which cut back a great deal of wind and keep the heat in. I was pleasantly surprised to see a live band performing - skillful musicians playing a nice variety of good music.
Service was fast and friendly even though the restaurant was quite full. I had the crab cakes as an appetizer which were served quickly and were delicious. Next was a cub of clam chowder - wow! Some of the best I've ever had. I had the trout as a main course, asking for a substitute on vegetables which they graciously made. Wines by the glass were a generous pour, again, much appreciated.
All in all, an excellent evening! Hat's off to Scott's for a lovely dining experience!
The service and food were great. Highly recommend Scott's.
Great place to relax . Outstanding food and service. Thank you
Good food, good drink, pricey as you would expect but we knew that going in. It suffers from a poorer location than previously. It used to be on top of a tower 4 blocks away with a view of the city. Now it's next to the light rail on the Alley, quite a step down.
Drinks were amazing, food was delicious, service was outstanding! Definitely highly recommend.
Didn’t have the fish I ordered. Didn’t have the wine I ordered. But was good after that
This is the second time in a month we’ve been to Scott’s with friends. It’s been wonderful both times! Very attentive, non-pushy waiters; fabulous food, and great ambiance! Highly recommend to anyone looking for that special evening out!
Great place for a nice dinner. Food is super delicious. Service is good too. I try to come here once a week!!!
We enjoyed our dinner at Scott’s. It was our first time at the new location. Very new concept for them. Great staff and food was good. Pretty spendy.
The new location lacked the level of elegance that I remember about the other spot. Front of house staff did not match the caliber of sophistication of the restaurant’s legendary reputation.
The server was amazing and very attentive. The dish he recommended was very tasty
Didn’t have a server take our order until 45 minutes after being seated. Drinks poorly made. Food mediocre. My 2 year old was so hungry when she finally got her food it was the wrong order. It was disappointing.
We had a great meal, it got real busy shortly after we sat down so the service was a little slow. I did have one problem, I had a avocado stem in our lobster bisque which I bet into.
It was great
Great dinner! Portions are large so good for lunch next day. Location not a great as before but the big tent kept wind down. I had fillet ala Oscar and husband had the linguine and clams- both excellent!
Hands down best seafood
Very disappointed in Scott's. The service was poor, and the value was also poor. Ate there a number of years ago and it was MUCH better. Will not be returning.
Was hoping for the scenic view of downtown San Jose from its previous spot but it’s now located on the bottom floor. Service was ok which tends to be the case when it’s a party of 6 or more. Food was great!
It was awesome service and friendly.
Scott’s moved from original location so the beautiful view is gone along with service and food quality.
First time in new location. Parking is the only hard part and expensive
The food and cocktails here are great. I come here weekly and really enjoy all their menu items. They have great bartenders and chefs! Everything is delicious but my favorite is rye chioppino. Surprising I never thought I’d like seafood stew so much.
Food was very good, lobster bisque delicious tho not not— I had to send it back to be warmed up. It looked like they gave me a fresh and properly hot bowl. Service was ok, friendly and attentive, but still lacking. I spilled soup on the bare table—would have liked the server to wipe it for me instead of having to use my napkin. Oysters were delicious, but we had to ask what kind they were. We’re so happy with the new location as it’s more convenient to where we have subscription (hopefully they get going soon!) the Stage and to 3 Below where we find ourselves going more. However, ambience is disappointing with bare bones decor, bare, ordinary too-small tables, little artwork.
Food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Yellowtail Carpaccio.
The wait staff were all friendly and helpful.
Food was delivered quickly.
They were out of the (menu) seabass, so two of our four people had the blackened seabass special (and enjoyed it). Two of our people had the lobster bisque soup (while not the best we've had, it was enjoyable).
Our lunch had started at 1 PM (in May) ... after an hour, we had to move our table due to sunlight hitting us, but thanks to dining capacity restrictions and the lateness of our lunch, that was quite easy to do. (We could also have chosen to sit indoors, and there was plenty of nicely spaced capacity there.)
The restaurant validated parking for our two cars (one per couple), which was nice.
I was a bit disappointed in the soft drink quality, but that's a very minor nitpick!
We'd definitely go back again, for dinner.
Been here many times. Food is great and consistently good. On our last visit the service was terrible.... after 55 minutes our waiter had not taken our entree order so I eventually asked a manager for assistance. We did get to place our order but the waiter didn’t apologize and then went on to give us the cold shoulder . Hopefully this is a post-COVID glitch.
My husband and I came here for Mothers Day and had a great dinner. Our reservation was for outdoor because Open Table said there weren't any indoor seating available but when we got there they were able to sit us inside, which I really appreciated them offering. My husband had the clam chowder and I had a taste of it and it was wonderful. He had the trout for dinner and I had the lobster. Absolutely wonderful. This will be our new go-to place.
Had the Sole with caper sauce and Cioppino, both prepared/seasoned very well with nice portions. Well made Manhattan cocktail. Service was excellent, always around, but not hovering. We'll be back.
Mother’s Day brunch
No issues with the quality of food served to us. The only thing that bothered me is that after I placed my order of sea bass, it took my server 20 minutes to notify me that they cannot fulfill my initial order because they seemed to have run out of ingredients or something but will replace my order with their special sea bass menu of the day., which means that the clock reset again... longer wait time. Other than that, it was the smell of smoke from a building fire down the block that interfered with our enjoyment of eating out on Mother's Day.
Great meal and service
I love this place. Good food. Great restaurant, and they treat everyone with respect. I will definitely be visiting again
