Great evening with excellent food and service. We’ll definitely be back.
Not restaurant fault but had very loud woman sitting in next seat. Had to lean over to converse with friend.
Mediocre brunch for the price
I was quite disappointed with this experience at Scott's. This was our second time this month visiting.
1. I made a reservation requesting a table outside. They hostess rudely and contentiously said that none were available, saying they were already reserved. They should have notified us that that was already the case so that we could have made other arrangements. We had called the night before to talk to someone to confirm our reservation.
2. We were not notified ahead of time that it was a $90 prix fixe menu when we called to confirm our reservation. The food was quite good, but we did not expect this situation and came at an awkward surprise.
3. When we were told we could not have a table outside, they brought us to an indoor table with only one chair. The hostess did nothing to resolve the issue. My girlfriend ended up lifting a chair from another table.
4. Our entrees took quite a long time after the second course and arrived 2 minutes into the fireworks show. The table we were seated at was quite far from the window so we had to leave our table to actually see it. This was quite off-putting. We came to watch the fireworks. Do we miss the fire and let our $90 prix fixe dinner get cold. Or do we eat our dinner and miss the fireworks that we couldn't see from our table.
Too many strikes for Scott's. We do not plan to return after this experience. We could have had a better experience downstairs at Peggy Sue's.
The food at brunch was surprisingly good, bad dessert options but everything else was good. The service was awful. While there is a 2-hour limit on brunch, the server dropped off the check and didn't return to clear plates after an hour and 10 minutes. We had to flag him down for everything. Wish they were on top of it, then we would definitely be back. Also a fun live music trio played during brunch. I want to like it and I want to go back for brunch but only if the service improves.
Atmosphere potentially great but disconnects somehow.
There were 2 big private party’s so maybe staff overwhelmed. Our server was far from in the zone.
Food was really good. Halibut was outstanding.
We would return but only once if device and atmosphere weren’t closer to potential.
Our server was Scott, he was very knowledgeable and took care of us well.
The trout was a recommendation from our server and it did not disappoint. The key lime pie was also wonderful; one of the best I’ve had. Our family was very pleased and made the celebration so special.
Specifically asked for a birthday dessert for my girlfriend. Nothing came. 5 minutes later I see a desert with a candle on it going to another table. Unacceptable.
Our server was very friendly and helpful, and provided good service to us. The food itself was eh, not great but fine.
Our group of 6 get together about once a month. We've gone to Scott's a few times and have said the same thing about it each time. "Great food, terrible service!" We won't return.
6th floor restaurant with rooftop patio and great city views. Choose between quiet dining inside with window views every table, or a more lively dining and outdoor bar type environment.
Food is creative and made with care.
If you have been driving by and never stopped in, it's time to make a reservation and check it out.
Parking in the block size basement garage is validated.
Easy walking distance to several venues.
Love the rooftop dining at this Scott's. Such a downtown treasure. We had a delicious lunch, with great service. Will come back for happy hour!
One of our more memorable anniversary dinners. All the dishes they created were impeccable
No better place for an incredible meal with an incredible view!!
My sister was visiting from Georgia. She moved there from Washington State a year ago. I know she's been missing fresh Pacific food so it was a perfect choice. My sister, my husband and I all enjoyed our seafood dinners very much.
Yesterday 9 of us went to brunch for Father's Day, and it was horrible. The entry of the building had garbage all over the floor. The service was terrible. The food was hideous. The lines for the buffet were long and many of the containers were empty. It was indeed the worst dining experience I have ever had.
Great service! The manager, Mark, made our visit amazing. Thank you for stepping in and taking care of us.
They were too busy to notice us...
Food was excellent; service disappeared a lot
We were placed close to a meeting that took away from the overall ambiance of Scott's. I'd go back again, but they need to work on seating when there is an event.
Dinner before a show at the Performing Arts. Location and convenience of parking was great. Enjoyed the dining and we got to the show on time.
Enjoyed brunch. Music was a little too loud and had to raise voice to be heard but musicians did ask and did lower volume. Is it really necessary for waiter to tell us that we had 2-hours at which time they would bring bill!! Seemed rather rude.
Great restaurant - the food was exceptional. We got the special sea bass in addition to 3 seafood plates - each excellent. The service by our waiter, Scott, could not have been better. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants. We will return!
Food was amazing! Excellent service! Couldn’t ask for anything more! Great value!
I enjoyed my lunch very much. I asked for a little variation of what was on the menu and the waiter and kitchen very nicely accommodated me. Bread was fresh and the salad was very crisp and delicious. Ended the meal with a coffee and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back again.
Went to have dinner before seeing The Jersey Boys. Seating was prompt and the waiter was efficient without us asking. I had the Grilled Petrale Sole Dore, girlfriend had Seafood Salad. Both were excellent. Nice dinner, service and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely will return again.
Nice food and beautyful view
My wife and I loved Scott’s and this visit was for her birthday. As always, the staff was friendly, courteous, professional and wonderfully accommodating.
The Alaskan Halibut rocked!
There was 7 of us, and the waiter was excellent . The patio outside is very nice , just don't care much for the inside ambiance .
Good food and service
Very convenient for theaters
Watching the planes cast shadows was entertaining. The food was delicious. It was relaxed, yet just elegant enough to make it a special time. Great location for a visit to the Symphony afterwards!
The food was delicious and the ambiance was great. I had a salmon dish with stuffed crab, with a mashed vegetable. It was different and the fact that it tasted great will make me return when I'm in the area.
The Cesar salad was about what you would get at a Summer picnic. No presentation like the beet salad. The first round of drinks took 35 minutes to get. Not what you’d expect when your table drops 550 on dinner.
We were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. We were given a menu with a personalized note on the top! Beautiful detail from Scott’s to do that! We had wonderful service and a lovely dessert with a candle and a congratulations from the staff. We got a nice table away from the groups, quiet table. Food was very nice! Service was great! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!
Our nephew was visiting from Michigan, and had never had a fine dining experience. He was really pleased with the filet mignon in particular, but everything was delicious. We also tried the jumbo prawns wrapped and wontons, the lobster bisque, and the pear salad. We have not been to Scott’s in quite a while and I can’t wait to go back again. There was some live music and it just added to the beautiful ambience of the evening.
Scotties is located on the top of a 6 floor structure (parking lot?) with a nice view of the area. I had The Cioppino which was nice on shellfish - but loaded with swordfish or some other gray fish that was unappetizing. Wines were very overpriced but it is Downtown San Jose! My husband had a prawn dish that was very good....again, this is an ok restaurant if you are in the area and are feeling well off.
Enjoyed Scott’s in SF,Oak and now San Jose...Our guests Were Empressed by the Menu Offering.. We Started with Oysters, Shrimp,Clam Chowder and a Ceasar Salad with strips of Anchovies..
Doesn’t get any better..We ordered Petrale,Cipino and Seafood Medley..
Surely we’ll return..
Wonderful experience and food for mothers day, nice touch of a rose provided to mothers. The only slight discomfort was the dining room being quite COLD for my 94 year old mother.
