The people that work there were very nice, but the food was not as good as I would expect for the price.
The sides in particular were lacking flavor, especially the veggies were blah. They did cook the scallops perfectly and the fillet mignon was good, but smothered by a sauce that completely over-powered the meat. Next time I would probably choose to stay at the bar and choose from the "happy hour" menu, which looked pretty great for the $$'s.

Great service. Loved the atmosphere. Perfect outdoor seating for a Summer evening dinner. Great food, would have preferred a little more crab, a little less scallops. Overall the food was great.

From the hostess, to the bar and wait staff, the service was very courteous and prompt. Our waitress divided our shared portions and made certain that everyone’s requests were satisfied. An excellent experience had by all.

The band on the patio was awesome. The food was ok. I think they changed chefs in the last year. The servers we a little bit slow in taking out order.

The food was terrific. Our waiter had difficulty with English, and the service was sometimes inattentive. Overall, he was personable and the experience was good. I would definitely return for another meal in the future.

We asked to sit outside on the rooftop but it was full. Hostess seemed confused or overwhelmed when we then asked for a table inside by the window. She said it would be a wait and when I pointed out tables open by the window she went to look but still waited to seat us. Our server was pleasant. We ordered steaks which came with a potato and vegetable and a salad to share. They did not bring us an extra plate for the salad. The steaks were a little over medium rare as ordered and covered with a sauce. The filet I ordered had way too much sauce. The steaks were just okay. I’ve had better, more juicy steaks at Outback and Longhorn for a fraction of the price. Our bill with 3 glasses of wine ($10 @) a salad and 2 steaks was $197 with tip. There was also a 3% service charge so we only tipped 15%. Way overpriced for the quality of food! Will not return nor would I recommend.

Nice evening - can be a bit loud depending on where you are seated so request a table by the window or the back wall - the ones in the middle are close to each other and you will feel like you are seated at the same table as the people behind you. I did note that we were there for our anniversary and requested a gluten free menu but neither were acknowledged. When the bread was delivered I asked if they had gluten free bread - the busgirl tried to tell us that the sourdough was and looked at us like we were stupid - "like, uh, this IS bread, duh" - only bad part of the evening. They validate parkig for up to 3 hours so that is a nice perk.

My reservation meant nothing, got seated at a bar area outside as the only available spot to honor my request. Live music was extremely loud, food was good.

Very peaceful relaxing meal at Scott's. Our service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Warning: we chose the hot sampler as our appetizer and it was HUGE. Three crab cakes, three shrimp, and a huge pile of calamari. Entree wise the prices have gotten a little high, but still a great place to go for a special occasion

Server was very grouchy and rushed. Acted like we were bothering him anytime we asked for something. For as much as they charge, we expected at least polite service. Food was pretty good. Won't go back probably.

The food was great, the service was spotty, some times good some times slow. After we got our bill it was 10 or 15 minutes before he came to do the credit cards, in his defense, I think he was overwhelmed with tables.

We were there during the week and reserved a table for top roof. The service was very friendly and responsive.
We ordered the cold and hot sampler's appetizers and enjoyed a lot. Also for main course we ordered three different foods, the Tuna, Lobster and the Filet steak. The seafood was excellent. I didn't try the steak but it was good looking.
I love to have a real good dupio after dinner. Anyways the espresso was not a real one ! !

Except the Espresso we were very pleased with the quality of the food and service .

Service and music excellent. Beautiful look out onto city. Fun place to go for my birthday party. Everyone at our table liked their meal but no one thought it was outstanding. However my steak was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Green beans were also very yummy and well seasoned. Still great ambiance and music. Best service we've had anywhere. Will return.

It’s a good menu. It’s good food. Prices are reasonable. Service is good but not great. Interior needs a serious refreshing. Feels very dated. I’m a big fan of Scott’s but it’s been a bit since I dined at the San Jose location, it looked like same chairs, same flooring, that was there past two years, all that looked a bit weathered. Bar needs a serious redo. Patio is generally nice in summer but had a Thursday wedding event that was a bit weird with bridal party walking through restaurant as they flipped the patio from wedding to reception. Guests were loud at the small bar and back room. Worst part I wanted to treat my guests to my favorite Pinot Noir and they ran out, as they only had one bottle. You don’t have wine on the wine list and only have one bottle. That’s poor beverage management.

Our service was terrible. My husband actually had to go looking for our waitress on multiple occasions. They brought out 2 cocktails and we waited an additional 10 minutes for the third. The food was OK and the restaurant was dated, dusty, old and tired. Considering the price we paid for the meal it was subpar.

Love the feeling of the restaurant. Great waitress. Perfect distance to the SJ Performance Art theater. Clam chowder delish, beet salad boring and dry, sea bass entree way too cooked. Hard and tasteless. Expensive for very mediocre food.

The wait staff was excellent but my salmon was dry so it was either over cooked or stayed under the heating lamp to long. Also the flavor was not spectacular so that’s why I’m giving a low rating.

Scott's used to be our 'go to' place for a nice evening out...We recently had tickets to the CPA and I was excited about returning to this restaurant. Sorry to say, it is slipping in the customer service area. We were not greeted well to start, and almost lectured about parking before 5:00 for a total validation. Our waitress was very inexperienced...Talked fast, interrupted abruptly and didn't even serve on the proper side of a person. Hope this was just a bad night!

Great way to start an evening of theater at the Center for Performing Arts across the street. Excellent dining options, great service at the bar and in the dining room. Reserve a table before the theater crowd descends after 6. Will validate parking - easy 2 minute walk after the show - open til midnight.

Scott's is all over the map. The food is wonderful - fresh, tasty, beautifully presented - and the cocktails were very nice. Sadly, the service was just awful. Sloooooooow to get water, then to order, then to get the food. We went for my husband's birthday supper, so it was very disappointing to have such marginal service.

This was our first time we went to Scott’s since last November. We have been to Scott’s many times over the past few years.

As usual the clam chowder was very good. The Ahi tuna appetizer has been better this time it wasn’t as fresh as we would expect

I ordered the CBS special and was disappointed because it was not fresh and the specials are very expensive

My daughter had the trout which she said was pretty good but dry and there was not enough sauce to compensate

Probably the boat most disturbing thing about this Night out was watching the table next to us where a man was eating oysters and ran to the bathroom because one oyster was so rancid. Scott’s compensated (no charge for the oyster dish)

The drinks were OK - slightly on the expensive side

We will definitely think twice before going back

We had reservations for lunch and informed the hostess that we were there for a quick business lunch. It took well over 20 minutes for a wait person to approach our table. Our lunch was very satisfying but 1 1/2 hrs when you've let the staff know that you're not there for a leisurely luncheon is not acceptable. This will certainly effect our choices in the future for lunch meetings.

The cold seafood sampler was quite good.they messed up our entree though, and brought my wife a ginormous steak. When we said we didn't order that they tried to say that we had asked for the special and ask for a medium-rare, which was not the case at all. Then came back and apologized and said that that was actually for another table and offered us a free dessert. But it finally came time for our dessert, we ordered the coconut panna cotta, but the waitress returned and told us that they were all out of that, but the good news is that we can get a free dessert!

Overall everything was okay, service was a little bit slow, and the food was good but not great.
