Lovely views of San Jose skyline, nice space between tables, great service (thank you Doug and support staff), comfortable chairs. Main item: food was perfect. Tasty Oysters, nice house greens. Seabass was a lovely thick piece of fish, moist, cooked exactly correctly with chopped almond coating on top. Green beans crisp but cooked through (just like we like them) with garlic mashed potatoes: nice. Dessert was delicious too (Icebream and berries for my birthday, my husband had pistachio creme brulee). Both tasty. Solid wine list, not extensive.
Very lovely fish dinner, and excellent selection of wines by the glass. My fish preparation was complex and very fresh. I recommend it.
I always want this restaurant to be better. The food feels a bit dated. They could use a revamped menu with more exciting options. It’s one of the only rooftop patios in San Jose, so that’s a plus. The biggest negative was a strong fishy smell. Not exactly what you want when you’re about to order fish. But for a pre-symphony meal, you can’t beat it.
Great food! Great service! I would go back!
I had the seafood salad. I was disappointed that for a restaurant of this price range, the salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce, three slices of tomato, and a few slices of cucumber topped with seafoods. The dressing was very processed. I opted for oil and lemon instead. The olive oil was very poor quality.
Would not go back for any reason.
Always a wonderful experience. Very friendly staff.
My out of town guests gave it rave reviews. I loved the cioppino & they had the special of the night. Wine list is pricey but we found a good bottle for an acceptable price.
A great place for brunch. Bottomless mimosas and great choice. Food quality took a minor hit this last visit
This is one of our mAinstays when we are in town for business. The service is great and the seafood is nicely prepared. Prices are on the high end but worth it.
A nice surprise for me to find Scott’s, the scallops was cooked just right, the crab cake had plenty of crab meat and no fillers. The service was friendly and professional, the food came out fast, giving enough time to take a walk around the block before the performance. Definitley a good place to form for dinner before/after the theatre show. Highly recommend .
The music should be softer background music for dining
The service was very good and they tried very hard to make things right. My meal was not good at all, and they took it off the bill which was very nice of them.
My husbands meal was very good. The server was very concerned as was the Manager and they both handled the situation professionally.
The band was very enjoyable. The Cosmo was outstanding.
A step up from Red lobster, but certainly not a big step.
My husband and I selected this restaurant based on reviews on OpenTable and it was close to our hotel. We walked around and happened to see the restaurant and the menu was displayed which looked very enticing. The entrance looked a little dowdy as the awning was totally ripped and the glass front door had a large chip out of it. I was wondering if I had made the wrong choice. You take an elevator up to the 6th which was a surprise. When we arrived we noticed the windows were large and it was bright. The carpet needed to be vacuumed and the paint was peeling off the window sills. The restaurant needed maintenance but the food...
The food was excellent and the wine selection was good. I had the prawns, lobster and scallops and all was prepared perfectly. My husband had the almond crusted sea bass and he stated that it was very good. He also had a caesar salad and he is a cs connoisseur and commented that it was OK. The waiter was very attentive.
I would probably go back but would hope they have cleaned it up a little.
Scotts is generally a good place, but the excessively expensive Sea Bass special was not particularly good this time.
The food was really disappointing. I had crabcakes, which were unremarkable, and friend had cioppino, and could barely eat it. Service was rushed with people quick to pick up all of our plates after only a half an hour.
I invited several girlfriends to Scott's Seafood to announce that I was engaged, the waiter was very patient with the fact that we had to wait for some to arrive later. He got us drinks and appetizers and then he gave us time to visit without constantly coming over and trying to pressure us into ordering. We had a very nice visit and the food and atmosphere were great. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Service was very slow
Comfortable, good view , good service. A nice place for friend gathering
Excellent food. Everything was outstanding. Our hotel recommended this place and we are very grateful - the food was indeed delicious.
One of our favorites in San Jose over the last 30 yearsl
Food & service good. Very convenient to City National Theatre, and the bonus is they validated our parking so we parked for dinner and theater for free.
The food was good, I service was terrible, act like we were a pain very disappointing especially when we will be dinning out most every night with working staff new to the area..
A very nice restaurant, enjoyable atmosphere... Food is really nice. Is it spectacular...? depending on your definition... Its really good, its nice, its tasty. Yes I would go back.... Maybe try eating outside on the patio deck!
The food was delicious! We had a great time. We even had a fantastic view of the downtown area. Can’t wait to go back!
Enjoy coming to this restaurant for their Sautéed Seafood-consistently delicious. The salmon dish is also a favorite. The ciopino is drastically inconsistent which is disappointing. Scotty was our server and has been for my last 3 visits. He is consistently amazing- efficient, courteous, and entertaining. Would recommend this restaurant for the amazing food and city views.
We had a wonderful time as always! Outstanding service, delicious food, very romantic atmosphere on the rooftop!
The service and place was amazing but we have a little inconvenience with one of ours entrees (was terrible cooked and we return) and we had to order another different entree and we can't had dinner at same time , the waitress was amazing and can solve the situation
Such an awesome experience. My husband and I loved our date night! Food and service was impeccable!
I was disappointed that two very good items were no longer on the menu: The prawn cocktail and the Chinese Chicken salad. I've been enjoying them for many years and understand they have been removed. Sorry.
I had dinner with my daughters. Their food were delicious. I ordered filet mignon medium but it was a little well done. I’ll order something else next time. Other than that, great service.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Scott's because it was there that we had our first (blind) date.
The service was excellent. We ordered the chef's special of the day, and it was outstanding.
The patio was fantastic but the service to the patio was extremely slow. Perhaps that may be why our Fish was not really warm anymore. But the food was delicious & the atmosphere on the patio was great.
First time here while visiting Portland. Chicken Marsala was dry and chewy. Sauce was good though. Waiter didn’t seem to be upbeat. Didn’t smile until the check came lol.
Everything we had was good. Service was attentive. Moderately expensive but worth every penny.
Food was delicious. Food took way too long 40 minutes to be exact, when it finally arrived it was missing lobster tail we had to tell the waiter. To find out they did not have any? Disappointed. The we got was delicious.
Our food, once we got it was wonderful, as always. However, we waited 20 minutes to get our salads and then waited almost 40 minutes for our entree. They did have several large parties, however and in general the dining room was fullI. However, being full and having large business parties is common for them and as such they should be prepared to accommodate the number of customers they have. It isn't reasonable to have waits this long between courses and as a result we didn't enjoy our dinner as we should have.
We have eaten at Scott's many times and have always enjoyed out experience there. It should also be noted our server did the best she could and didn't ignore us.
We will chalk this up to a one time thing and we will be back.
Very good view of the city on the six floor excellent service outstanding food I would highly recommend it to anybody
