Excellent - 74th Birthday for my husband. Started with Caesar salad for me, excellent cup of chowder for him. Meal was the seafood tower - assorted hit and cold. Perfect amount of food but you have to like large smoked oysters, huge bbq oysters and cold mussels. We loved the bbq but the cold mussels and large smoked with a sauce was not our cup of tea. Top level, greens, delicious prawns with cocktail sauce and gorgeously spooned smoked oysters . Second layer delicious fried prawns (4), huge bbq oysters, and something else. Bottom layer snow crab legs, calamari, bbq oysters and mussels.
This was a celebration of our wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect....food was delicious, service fantastic, and seating on the deck was great. Our waiter recognized that it was a special occasion for us and really made us feel special. Would definitely return!
Good Sacramento restaurant for seafood meals. Ciopinno was tasty!
Lovely lunch and the halibut was perfect, as were the crab tacos
I've always had a very pleasant experience (3 times) with our waiter (Art....). Very friendly, pleasant and accommodating. We had a substitute during his break and she was not as well-rounded. Unfortunately I ordered the house-made sausage and it was overspiced with pepper.
My other experiences for lunch and last years mother's day was excellent.....Great menu too!
We had a lovely evening and the restaurant staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
My 2nd visit, the first was amazing...but probably predates Yelp. Decided to take my mother in law here for her birthday dinner. The whole experience was outstanding; from our perfect table overlooking the river, the generously poured cocktails, to our amazing & delicious meals and desserts! (Beautiful plating & presentation, but not pretentious.) The icing on the cake was our waiter Ben! My husbands soda was refreshed almost as quickly as he drank the last. Ben was engaging and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We plan to be back again really soon. Bravo!!
The food was fresh and delicious and our server was very attentive. We enjoyed the view and the ambiance.
Gentleman who seated us very helpful and kind. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere
Great! Just wish they had more lunch options on weekends
This is our go-to for date nights. As the parents of very young kids, our date nights are pretty infrequent, so when we do go out, we want something amazing. But, we keep coming back here. The food is always delicious, the view is unbeatable, and we don’t have to deal with Downtown chaos.
I wish that you would get a valet validation for eating in the restaurant, but that’s not a big deal, as you don’t have to use valet (we just choose to). It’s is in a hotel after all, which makes sense.
Very nice place!!
We had a nice meal, the salads were delicious, as were the seafood entree’s, the prawn cocktail was a little over cooked as the prawns were a little soft. But otherwise a nice meal. Our server was cordial and checked to make sure everything was OK and even gave us a bottle of champagne to take with us to help celebrate our 43rd Wedding Anniversary.
Every time we go there to celebrate our Anniversary, it’s such an amazing time! The service is flawless!
Second year in a row for Easter brunch, and couldn't have been a nicer experience. This is such a lovely setting and it was so beautiful by the river. The food is one of the best brunches we've ever found in the Sac area--so many options, and everything was cooked and seasoned so well. Will make this an annual tradition, I think!
We had a blast on Easter I highly recommend coming here on Easter brunch we come every year for the last 4 years and it’s been great we love this place
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Scott’s. Our food was delicious, our server was attentive and took excellent care of us while were dinning. We were seated on the patio with a lovely view of the river and Yacht club. We will definitely be back.
This restaurant just gets better and better. This has become my go to restaurant for out of town guests, business meals, afternoon get togethers, you name it! I highly recommend Scott's and now that the weather is better - the outside dining area is available and a fantastic experience!
Great evening, ate outside.
Great fresh oysters and seafood ! Excellent service...
Hands down the best experience I've had at a restaurant of this caliber!
The whole staff was exeptional in creating the perfect setting for a very special occasion. I commend all for the efforts put forth in delivering an unforgettable evening.
Thanks!!

Our waiter that night named Miguel was very friendly, great customer service and was always a dear when we needed anything! I totally commend him for his great customer service and being very attentive to all our needs.
Sworfish dish was soaked in a super spicy salsa that overtook the flavor; gnocchi dish was small & "bathed" in a sweet brown sugar juice (unusual for an Italian dish.) Not acceptable. Waitress was not attentive & brought a margarita with salt when it was requested without. Waiting time for table was too long (15 mins) when tables were open. Dissapointing overall experience costing more than $100...
Yum! I had the field greens salad and added chicken. It was delicious. My husband ordered the filet mignon with scallops. There were only 2 scallops which didn't seem like a lot but he enjoyed them. The filet was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back.
Not impressed. Too noisy and the quality of food is not as good as last time I was there.
The place is beautiful and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this to friends.
We had a wonderful time it was my two boys Birthday. The food was very good, and we will be back soon
I asked for French fries , don't get it. They try to make me hard time ? , asking for reservation. Not sure if they are full to what i saw . the waitress advised to change margarita mango instead of original for sweetness, isaid ok but still get the lemon
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will definitely go back.
We went for an early dinner so no crowds or noise. The waitress was a gem and we enjoyed the experience. The food was amazing. The decor needs some updating but overall a hearty meal at a great price.
We took my husband's mother to Scott's for her 90th birthday, some years ago. This year we took MY mother for HER 90th birthday. She raved about the food, and we all love the elegant but relaxed ambiance. The wait wasn't long, but I almost wish it were a little longer, because we were enjoying a drink while watching the river float by. It's a beautiful restaurant with superb food.
My wife and I celebrated our Birthdays here. Everything was great. Our server(Ben) was awesome and helped make it a special night. I got the filet and prawns and my wife got the lobster tails. Both plates were cooked to perfection. We couldn't have been happier with the meal or the atmosphere and the service was excellent.
Our server was great! We were not impressed with the food. It seems that by the time we arrived the kitchen staff was too tired. No special effort was made to even garnish the food. The food was passable, but monochromatic!
My husband had the eggs benedict which came totally flat and one dimensional.
Although the sauce was good and the eggs nicely runny, only one small piece of bacon was presented on each toast. Perhaps a splash of diced tomatoes, or pepper or a plumper fresher poached egg would've improved the plate.
Mine was the deep fried Prawns with rice. Not one bit of dreaded Parsley was wasted on this most bland presentation.
The taste was heavy and Shrimps fishy!
We would give this location another try, however, reservedly!
Always great seafood-never been disappointed. Parking is an issue-valet is $10-so not terrible. It can get a bit noisy inside as acoustics are not great. Service and food are always excellent here-interesting specials available on the Friday night we went.
Environment and the food was excellent! I would say our server was a bit busy with other customers so some of our requests took a while. But overall, we had a great time... great food, environment and great staff! We love Scott's on the River!!! :)
I have been eating at Scott's for years, usually at the Scott's in Folsom. Met a friend for lunch at Scott's on the River. Service was good, atmosphere excellent, noise level okay, even though the restaurant was crowded with conference attendees. My friend had the Macadamia Nut Crusted Sea Bass and found it very good. I chose one of the luncheon specials--fish (rockfish) and chips . I was disappointed with the fish. The fish was thin and the batter thick and doughy and tasteless. First time in 25+ years I have been disappointed in a Scott's special. I usually don't bother with reviews; if I don't like a place, I don't return. In this case, I want to give constructive feedback to one of my favorite restaurants.
Lovely table and view. Great service, good food.
My second trip to Scott's and again I was not disappointed. Four of us this time on a Friday night. Got window seating as requested. The first time we came during the week, for a romantic dinner and it was quiet and romantic. Not so this time, more customers and it was pretty loud. Not so bad that we had to yell, but close to it. Food was good as expected, and service was great.
Birthday dinner it was great. Food was fabulous!
This was the best Birthday dinner I've had in years!! Service was spectacular, food was delicious, and our waitress was phenomenal! I will be frequenting this restaurant for all special occasions! Thank you so much for such a great experience!!
The bad part of dining at Scott’s Seafood on the River was finding parking. Scott’s is in the Westin Hotel and there was no Valet available, so we had to self park about 3/4 of a mile away. Although we had a 5:00 reservation we had to wait 10 minutes while they seated two sets of walk-ins in front of us.
Our waitress greeted us promptly, but rushed through the specials because she had a table of 8, three tables of 4 and our table of two.
When she could break away from her other tables, our waitress provided great service. Our Grey Goose Martinis on the rocks with three olives and our Caesar Salads were wonderful. My Wife’s Ahi Two Ways was creative and met her every expectations. My Petrolie Sole was one of the best I have have since leaving England or Ireland. The Bernaise has a lovely touch of lemon which complimented the sole. The vegetables were excellent.
The Creme Brûlée was good but cold.
