Second visit in two days; back to back for convenience and value; unfortunately the main food (barramundi) was less palatable — excellent Boston chowder and veggies and so were the drinks

The food and service after arriving was tasty and friendly. I had salmon which was prepared perfectly.
My only comment would be I made reservations through open table and was guided to only 2 time options that fit our schedule (10:30 or 12:30). 2 of our party had a plane to catch. I called the restaurant directly prior to see if there was an opening around 11:30-noon and was told they were booked solid. When we arrived at a little before noon for our 12:30 reservation we found the restaurant more than half empty. They did seat us right away but we almost booked somewhere else due to perceived time restraints.

We go there every year for brunch on New Years. Beautiful environment, excellent service, food is great too. I ordered pacific rim salad with ahi tuna. The kaffir lime vinaigrette and avocado-mango relish were wonderful and unusual. Loved it.
Our waitress was warm and friendly, making our entire brunch experience top notch.
Will be returning again soon.

Terrific—with great food, drinks, service and ambiance —as usual but especially good this time with a window table and we were there before it was really busy—it’s a popular place. So the noise level was particularly quiet. When really busy, it can get pretty loud.

My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary here and we loved the food and the ambiance. Really enjoyed our time and would go again. We split the steak and scallops and the fish tower and 2 soups and had a perfect amount of food.

Good food and we were not rushed. Appetizers were large and very tasty. Waitress was patient and helpful, service was prompt and food was served hot and brought to the table a at the same time. The booth was spacious and comfortable. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Other than Open Table getting our reservation date wrong- we went on Dec 31, not Dec 28- we really enjoyed our meal at Scott's. There were five of us on a busy New Year's Eve and yet our server was patient and responsive. There was no pressure on us to either order quickly or to leave promptly once we were finished. Food was well prepared, tasty and very substantial portions.

Really outstanding food. You will pay for that luxury but for special occasions its worth it.Its a little loud near the bar, ask for seating in the back where its more quiet. Dont go without a reservation f you dont want to wait.If you do have a reservation they will seat you immediately, even when its busy.

This was our first time having dinner at the restaurant, and it was Christmas Day (we usually have had breakfast or lunch). We each ordered the special Turkey dinner. The turkey tasted like it was from a processed turkey roll rather than a fresh turkey. There were complaints at our table that there wasn't enough gravy and cranberry sauce to help camouflage the blandness of the turkey. Overall, the Christmas day dinner was mediocre but the soup and salad were excellent as was the dessert.

Was disappointed that Scott’s only had a CONDENSED MENU FOR CHRISTMAS DAY!!! They only offered their most expensive dishes- I.E. fish- steak!! Keep your entire menu. Windows were DIRTY. Nothing complimentary was offered for Christmas Day.

There are a couple of Scott's Seafood restaurants in our area, and they are not consistent from location to location. This one, on the river, has nice scenery and a nice ambiance. The food is not as good as it is at other Scott's locations. On this trip I had a steak and my wife had salmon. Mine came with grilled Brussel sprouts and bleu cheese mashed potatoes. The steak was done just right - medium rare, as ordered - and was very savory. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked, and the bleu cheese in the mashed potatoes was overpowering. My wife didn't rave about her meal, but neither did she complain. I didn't detect any enthusiasm from her. I think the food here was better when it first opened about 5-6 years ago. Now it's just run-of-the-mill.

The restaurant was very busy on Christmas Eve but I finally had a table not too much later than my reservation. Ambiance was very nice with a view of the river, service was good, friendly, and quick, until dessert anyway, and food was mostly excellent, though pretty expensive. Breakfast the next morning was good too. I've tried several Scott's over the years and this one seemed to be the best. I would certainly return.

This is the second year that we have gone to Scott’s for Christmas Eve dinner. It will be the last for us. The food is very good and the decor is great, but the noise level and service leave a lot to be desired. It is not a quiet, relaxing atmosphere where you can converse with those at your table without shouting to be heard. Our appetizer and dinner orders were brought in a timely manner but the server (on both occasions) reached over and between us to retrieve plates from the center of the table as well as dinner plates when all at the table were not finished eating. This behavior makes those still eating feel rushed and all of us felt like they were anxious for us to vacate the table so they could seat another party. This is not a fast food restaurant but you wouldn’t know it from the service.

My Scott's experience was not memorable. I was greeted by a snarky host who waited as long as he could to seat me although I had a confirmed reservation for one which was difficult on the Open Table web site. He seemed displeased over my singularity. For whatever reason he treated me rudely. I am a 77 year old woman. When I stated my displeasure with his attitude, he did apologize.

The food service was fair. After my food was served (the soup's temperature was hot, yeah), the waitperson never returned to check if everything was OK until I had finished my meal. The restaurant was not full or apparently rushed. The Boston clam chowder was way too thick, the clams chewy and the seasoning spare. My entrée broth was too thin and again without much flavor. I was expecting better. The setting is most charming and a number of the house boats on the river were brightly decorated making the beautifully decorated restaurant a visual treat.

This was an amazing evening, we had a great server. The food was delicious, we ordered the seafood tower for an appetizer, pricey, but oh so worth it. Our dinner (rib eye) was cooked to perfection. It was my husband's birthday, so not only did we get a free dessert, we also received a bottle of champagne to take home. Super great restaurant.

I have always enjoyed Scott’s and selected this venue because of previous visits. Their facilities were ok and the noise level was reasonable. However this visit was very disappointing. We called and made arrangements for our party the day before and request a quite location in the dinning area. We asked for a 5:30. Seating which was honored however it was initially in a ve4y noisy location close the the bar( happy hour not good), after a pleasant request they moved us to a much quieter section of the dinning room. Our server was assigned to our table 10 minutes after we were seated, which was ok since we wanted to visit with our dear friend. Once the server appeared the service was excellent and very attentive! Our meals were served in a very reasonable timeframe just way to much food. I was disappointed with the presentation and the amount of sauce on the sole... it destroyed the meal... What saved the overall meal was the appetizer ( calamari... outstanding... wine list!) . Will I venture back ... maybe but not a Friday night during Happy Hour... to many other good restaurants and this price point..

Cheers,
Jim Luna

One of the best seafood restaurants in Sacramento. Very good seafood in a lovely setting. Good service. Some of the appetizers are overly fussy, such as the wild prawns with grilled pineapple. It was actually six delicious prawns on skewers stuck into a huge slap of pineapple, which kept falling over! But my entree, sea bass with brown butter and macadamia nuts, was excellent. My husband had cioppino which he said was wonderful.
